Oh adding bias tape in the back is a great idea! I have never worked with bias tape before - do you make your own or do you get it pre-made? Snaps are definitely nicer and I think I have a few small ones somewhere. Doll clubs used to be more available in the past I think, I remember seeing listings for them in the back of Barbie Bazaar magazines but at that time I always seemed to live in a place that didn't have any! Nowadays I am not sure where people can find out if there are any local clubs - I think the UFDC might have a list, but that would be more for general dolls and not more specific to fashion dolls and etc.

I hadn't thought of using tape but that's a great idea, and probably easier than trying to wrap the hands in plastic. I need to film a piece for the end of the video where I made my first resin project, and I will definitely have some lessons learned if you want to wait for that (should be up in the next couple of days LOL)

I am not at all skilled with a needle, I just muddle along and sometimes I make stuff. Someday I will show the doll "dress" I made that is more mistake than dress LOL

I filmed most of it and I just need to film a new ending and it should be up soon! (spoiler alert - I slightly goofed lol)

It is a fun group, I am glad to have them! :)

@ regular Francie isn’t difficult look on Macari as well. I have a bend leg and a straight leg. I want a Casey and the repo Becky. I have the repo Francie it was done really well for a 90s repo. I would recommend it.

They were such a nice line of dolls, it's too bad they aren't made any more!

Hi! Thank you! :) I don't think there are any Roses/Maxway stores near me, unfortunately :( I wish there were, because those prices sound great!! But I do have TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Burlington, etc. - once my vow of not buying dolls in January ends, I will definitely be hitting those stores to see what I might find! :) It's very hit or miss but sometimes they have a good bargain doll! I hope you find what you are looking for too! :)

Tangerine twist is beautiful I have my moms in box but I want one to debox. The Ryan Gosling one is like 15 on Amazon. I want to Wilma Mankiller! I was too late on the website.

@@SmallPlasticWorld yes she was one of my childhood hero’s. I was geeking out when I found out but it would so fast. Be I have managed to get a good deal on Maya Angelou on the secondhand market. I got CJ Walker the first time around.

@SmallPlasticWorld I don't really have a wishlist! There are some I'd like but I doubt I'll ever find. Like Old Cottage Dolls Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, a wood Hitty, Dreamhigh Studio Vali and Tini.

Oh I totally forgot to mention mod dolls - I do have a couple, I have 1 brown eyed blonde Francie, and the Ken with rooted hair. I also have a talking Barbie head and a broken body (that isn't a talking body) so that is a project I need to deal with one of these days! But that's about it for the mod era unfortunately. I would love another Francie, and a Julia, and I want the mod Ken with painted dark hair. I hope you find what you are looking for too!

Oh yes, the "Midge" doll! I have seen her on the internet and some people are really angry about her being so rare. I haven't been to Target recently but it's almost February so I can doll hunt again so I might check out one or two and see if I can find her, she is cute.... lol

Oh yes, I really should have added Superstar Christie, it would be so cool to have her!! I never thought about it but you are right, I rarely see Christie dolls at the thrift now that you mention it! There might be doll hounds, one of the last times I was at a Savers there was some middle aged man with a child in a shopping cart who was looking at the dolls and looking at something on his phone, obviously trying to figure out which doll was in one of the bags - ultimately he put it back on the rack though, so I guess it wasn't valuable enough lol I would love to get the Heart Family dolls, I also forgot to mention them - I should just do a Part 2 with all the dolls I forgot about in Part 1! I have the mom's dress so it would be nice to get her. I bet the dad looks nice with the Barbies you have! :) I will definitely toast to having good luck in 2025! :)

Oh cool, our dolls can be twins! :) Blue looks really good on this particular Midge, I think! I think the royal blue suit on Christie would look good on Midge too, and the pink outfit on Teresa would look good on Christie. Maybe I will do that this winter! :D

OMG I totally agree with you about having to stop buying "project dolls" - I have even fallen behind on dolls that really just need a quick wash and shampoo! And I too have to make tougher decisions and stop trying to save all the dolls! It's hard though, if there are a bunch that I am tempted to get all in 1 place! :) It's so great that you can knit and crochet for dolls, I can sort of knit but I tried to learn to crochet a couple years ago and couldn't get the hang of it LOL It must be hard to do in such a small scale, do you need really small needles/hooks?

@@SmallPlasticWorld Yes very small hooks and needles. I knit socks so I save the leftovers for the dolls. The scale is just right. Yesterday I got a McCalls knit and crochet book for Barbie and Ken. I got it on eBay. It's from 1976 and features all mod dolls. Can hardly wait to get started.....

They are wonderful quality! :) I think this doll might look good in another wig, so I am going to swap and see if it makes a difference! :)
