    Man of Steel, was made and came in, A very unique and weird time. You can start all the way back in 78 with the Christopher Reeves Superman. After that we got Smallville, which would show us Clark Kent becoming Superman. Then, in 2011 Smallville ended and to the masses, Clark had grown up and just become Superman. So in this post 9/11 world, What would reality be like if Superman showed up??? That is what Man of Steel gave us. In a world that is cynical, And has a entire society suffering from PTSD, What would it be like if Superman joined the world today??? Man of Steel explored that perfectly. But now, People are ready to dream again. When we see the new photos from James Gunn's Superman, It really invokes a sense of Christopher Reeve, humility, And the ability to dream once again. Man of Steel was perfect for the world that it was set in. Superman (2025) I'm sure will do the same. To me personally, James Gunn or Zack Snyder is not one is better than the other. It's like apples and pears. Yes, they are both fruit, That grows on trees, Is sweet and crunchy.... But definitely not the same thing.

Ever since this PC movement, Kevin Smith's pods just aren't entertaining because I feel like he's muzzling himself so not to be provocative or say something "out of line" I agree though, Batman begins is the best Batman live action film imo. 6:12 - He DID do the same thing in The Dark Knight. Dressed as Bruce Wayne, at a fundraiser for Harvey Dent, putting the guy in a chokehold in front of guests (not EVERYBODY, but more than just Rachel) and being like, "THEY'VE COME FOR HIM. STAY HIDDEN." in the Batman voice...

  • @reflectionist
    @reflectionist 2 месяца назад

    Granted, I don't think any of the jokes in The Dark Knight Rises were as funny as Batman and Gordon in The Batman. They're walking into the abandoned orphanage and Batman says, 'No. No guns." And Jim Gordon just goes, "Yeah... that's YOUR thing, man." And it just cracked me up because the way he said it was almost as if to imply, 'Yeah, I'm a police officer, bro. I'm supposed to have a gun. If YOU have a gun, WE have a problem. But I'm good."

  • @reflectionist
    @reflectionist 2 месяца назад

    I feel like there was actually a lot of humor in The Dark Knight Rises, it was just done in a very muted and sardonic way. Like Alfred telling Bruce, "Maybe you should learn to make your own bed!" and then cutting to Alfred being completely unimpressed by Bruce making his own bed. "Call me!?" "No, no, do we still have any cars around the place?" Alfred lights up. "Yes! One or two!" "Need an appointment at the hospital for my leg!" "Which hospital!?" "Whichever one Jim Gordon's in." Alfred is MUCH less happy about this. "What brings you out of cryo-sleep, Mr. Wayne?" "Proceeds go to the big, fat spread. It's not about charity, it's about feeding the ego of whichever society hag laid this on." "Actually, this is my party, Mr. Wayne. And the proceeds will go where they should, because I paid for the big, fat spread myself." "Can we get some girls in here?"
