RC ViperJet at Frozen Lake

As the winter comes around RC pilots are notorious for hiding in their warm houses and building beautiful balsa airplanes. Sadly I can't build balsa airplanes, also that's kind of boring... As Sweden is experiencing a record breaking winter with temperatures going down to -44°C up in the North I thought it would be the perfect time to try out some winter RC flying ;) The plane I'm flying is the...
Toy Drone FPV! | Eachine TX06 Split
Просмотров 2272 года назад
I've decided to try out FPV flying (First person view) by fitting one of my old drones with a small FPV AIO camera. More specifically the Eachine TX06 Split-B, that's weights only 1.8 grams. Which I with my limited experience would consider lightweight. Have any questions or want to contact me? - Mail: contact.gubbenlarsson@gmail.com - Instagram: gubbenlarssonofficial gubbenlarsso...
What could go wrong? | Arrows Viper 50mm EDF
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
I`m very sorry for the video going black for a second. But it takes me around 10 hours to export a video and I don't have time for it again :( Recently I got myself a new kind of RC airplane, an EDF. Basically it's a propeller inside of a duct. This specific plane is the Arrows Viper. It has a 30 A ESC, 50mm EDF, 3 servos that controls the pitch and roll. So there is no yaw on this thing which ...

The plane is made out of cardboard and electronics from a cheap little RC helicopter. It was too cold for the battery so it didn't have enough power to fly one circle.
Looks like you might be getting into some interesting projects
Nice work man, this was cool to see come toghether
awesome lil hovercraft, i might offer, that soldering iron is probaby causing you the most issues, i had one similar, and it gave me so many problems soldering things and caused damage to the circuits etc, i found a temperature controlled soldering iron, and nowadays those problems went away, less replacing electronics because of my soldering, lol
That soldering iron sure is the cheapest one around. It would probably be wise to upgrade 😅
This little guy is adorable!
great video, just a question what was the control you used and what was the receiver board ?
All electronics (except the lift fan) were salvaged from a RC toy helicopter: Main motors, RX, TX, battery etc. I'm working on a follow up video explaining these hovercraft in more detail but it's really not that complicated. I think you can figure it out :)
this would be awesome if we could get a tutorial and links and stls i want to build this
I definitely recommend building something like this! It was a lot of fun :) It seems like people want a tutorial of some kind. I've already started working on a video where I refine the design and show a more detailed build.
@@ViggenProductions is there any chance i could get those stls from you? iv tried to find some like yours but no one has made such a thing.
I just want a good weekend project
@@pov_fusion I would gladly share them but since this was 2 years ago I lost the files. You could try building one out of cardboard in the meantime? It was honestly just as good or even better than the final 3D-printed one :)
your videos always impress me dude! very fun to watch
Thank you so much! :)
Nice build!! I'm thinking our custom PCBs, 3DP, CNC service may help to bring it to the next level!!! We're open to sponsor! (PCBWay zoey)
sponsor me zoey
Can you realease stl file
This was made in Fusion360 which I don't have access to anymore so I can't make any changes. But I'll see if I still got the STL somewhere :)
I've been searching through my old computer but sadly I can't find any .STL files left on there. All of my original project files disappeared when my Fusion360 licence expired. I have already started working on the next video where I'll improve the design and show you how to build one of these on your own. In the meantime you could try building one out of cardboard? The cardboard prototype was honestly just as good or even better than the final 3D-printed one (:
@@ViggenProductions OK, thanks. I Will be waiting for the Next video
your amazing broski
Im glad this came up on my recommended
same
Congratulations!! It looks like RUclips might bless you with views. This video was number three in my recommended videos nested between other main channels with 250k to 2.5m views. But that's a sweet lil rig that you came up with. It's obvious that you have a passion for the tech field and I hope that you can continue to pursue it in some form or another. Words of encouragement have always been a big motivator for me so here's to you. Good Luck!!
Wow, thanks for the kind words!
i once made one but without one of the motors that makes it float slightly
Nice! If I'm being honest the drifting cardboard in the beginning almost performed better than the later variants with the lift fan. Weight seems to be a big factor and so the lift fan might be a bit useless. But it looks cool (:
Why does the video from such a cheap analog system look so good?
Although I have nothing to compare them to, I think the are great :)
FPV drone man
Really well put together video for a small channel you gonna get larger soon for sure
Fun fact.. one of my first fpv drones was a furibee f36 toy drone with a camera rubber banded on the top! It's a fun and easy way to get into it
I had no idea about this! I'm watching this now!
Okay this was an awesome video! I loved the storytelling and for a first timer you did really well! I hope you stick with it and maybe get a tinywhoop or small 3 inch drone. I recommend Liftoff as a good fpv simulator! Thank you for crediting me and I hope you keep it up!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm really temped to get some sort of tinywhoop to fly around the house. This was great fun!
@@ViggenProductions the new micro drones they are coming out with are surprisingly capable indoors and outdoors
Hello, how did you bind the camera to the goggles? Once you bind it, does it connect with the goggles every time you apply power to it?
The camera transmitts the video signal on a specific frequency (unless you change it through a tiny button on the back of it). As long as the Googles are tuned to the same frequency they will see what the cameras see. The Googled remeber what frequency they were tuned to last time so yes, as long as you doesent change anything they find each other once power is applied. To bind them you can either manually switch through all the frequencies until you reach the right one or use the auto search function.
it looks like the dji phantom
😅 I, too, have used the quick and dirty "hot glue" camera mounting method.Works great until the VTX heats up and melts the glue.
incredible mate, super creative!
I feel bad for your hands🥲 awesome video tho!! Learned a lot 💪💪
You are really cute ✈️
Nicely done!
This took me back to my first days flying fpv 😁 amazing video! Keep going and you’re gonna do very well 😎
Working on a similar project for my daughters first fpv drone, good work young man
Subbed! Love the video! -from an FPV quadcopter pilot.
Nice one man!!! Thats the basic of FPV!!! That eachine camera is the most reliable one ever. I still have them from 6-years ago and its still running fine! Great job man!! The most important thing is the enjoyment! And u looked like ur having a ton of fun doing this! Haha
dude im subbed to you and viggen
I subbed faster than the speed of light. Also, can you put the link for the exact drone you used? I'd like to try this myself.
I've tried to find the drone on Google but it just doesn't show up. "Silverlit Sky Drone" is what it says on the box if you want to try it yourself. It might be quite difficult to find this exact drone. If you'd like to try this I'd recommend looking for a drone with a "unlocked" or "manual" throttle for the best experience. Meaning it should not spring back to the center if you let go. I hope you find drone that works for you :)
I cannot Lie. I did this back in 2015. I got a 3in1 FPV cam and mounted it on top of my Hubsan x4 drone and flew it FPV Most fun I've ever had
Where is Bot grinder at?!
New sub! Your vid was recommended..Been flying FPV quadcopters last 3 years, learned everything from scratch from RUclips (soldering, tuning etc) but so nostalgic and refreshing seeing your ingenuity and storytelling! Keep up the good work!
Try Dji Phantom its way better
Well I believe every drone has its purpose. A phantom is lightyears ahead as an AP drone, but this one is way more fun to fly ;)
Vart i Sverige bor du?
it's amazing. I found this video from workin computer where I'm not logged in with any account and found it with my personal computer just to put like on it. Intro is amazing btw. Best I've even saw
This made my day! Thank you so much for the kind words!
Came for the clickbait, and stayed for the video. Even though it wasn't what I expected you did a good job with story telling and making it intesting. One suggestion is to shorten finding a 5v out source a bit and maybe cut you soldering because its boring. I enjoyed it and subbed
I'm sorry for the clickbait, I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching :)
I got a question about whether my FPV drone really ended up costing 15$. I thought I would clarify how I got to that number: The fpv camera/vtx combo (Eachine TX06) was sold on Banggood for 160 Swedish Crowns, equivalent of just over 15 USD. This might have been some sort of sale since the prices seem to have gone up since then but I don't remember exactly. The drone is a 10 year old children's toy I had laying around. Therefore I counted it as free for this build. Making the cost of my FPV drone, the cost of the camera/vtx --> 15$. I'm fully aware that 15$ might be on the low end for a build like this but after all this video is about my specific build, in which case the total cost was 15$.
THere are still AIO cameras that sold for around $15 exist. I found this AKK BA2 200mW FPV sold on Aliexpress for $14.90
i came here as a DIY enthusiast thinking you found components to build something for 15 dollars. shit clickbait, my dude
I did not mean to misslead anyone. I should have clarified the cost someware but I forgot :/ As for the cost: The fpv camera/vtx combo was sold on Banggood for 160 Swedish Crowns, equivalent of just over 15 USD. That might have been some sort of sale but I don't remember exactly. The drone is a 10 year old children's toy I had laying around. Therefore I counted it as free for this build. I'm fullt aware that 15USD might be on the low end for a build like this but after all this video is about my specific build, which ended up costing an equivalent of 15USD. I'll pin a comment about the cost.
If you're interested in building something like this I'd recommend searching around Banggood, Aliexpress and such chinese sites. I don't know what the prices will be in your country but try searching for "fpv aio camera" or something like that. I found a lot of alternatives as low as 20$, but if you have some patience you might be able to buy one for an even lower price. Best of luck :)
Dude how the heck do you not have more subs???? This content is masterful! Well done 👌💯
Thank you so much!! I do my best :)
I am so grateful that the video was recommend to me by YT. You have a new subscriber 🙂
Aw that's awesome :) I hope you liked it!
if you try this again with an altitude hold drone is way easier
It would be easier but it wouldn't be as fun ;)
@@ViggenProductions trust me i once added a wifi camera to a drone with no altitude hold, and because of the delay of the camera it wasnt fun at all, but with a $35 altitude hold drone i even recordered decent quality fpv videos you can check out, and i even flew inside my house and that was also recordered
Also little tip, never point ur goggles screen to the sky, you’ll burn a hole through them :)😂
Yep I didn't think about that at all 💀
Awesome video, glad I saw this :), subscribed I did a similar thing with an RC car the other day, I’m hoping to make a video on it at some point
Thanks for watching! I've gotten ideas to fpv mod just about anything after this, planes, cars, boats you name it 😅 I'd love to watch that video :)
Ok, a very interesting idea I'm gonna try myself :D But also, never leave your goggles exposed to sun. I used to have these goggles like 2-3 years ago. And when I took off the lens, my friend found out that you can burn grass with it💀 PS, do you have a real fpv drone? If not, I really recommend you to buy like a meteor 65 pro or something small :D
Thanks for the warning. I didn't think about that at all 💀 Sadly I don't have a real fpv drone yet. I think a small tinywhoop-ish would be awesome to fly around the house. Thanks for the recommendation and good luck trying this! :)
i’m so happy this got recommended

I really like this drone with the camera. Is there any way i could buy it? Thank you! I can pay you 60$
Sadly shipping would be rather expensive and inconvenient... Try find one of these small FPV AIO cameras on Banggood or aliexpress. Then you can make anything you want FPV :)
Thanks!
New Subscriber here😊, I'm also a RUclipsr. and your video deserves more views👍
Thank you! Thats great to hear! I checked out your channel too. You have a lot of fun stuff over there :)
You're so underrated only 70 views this video deserves min 1k
Thank you so much! Such kind words :) I hope you enjoyed it!
