I love being outside enjoying God's creation, especially with my kids ☺️. Seeing the joy when they discover something new is amazing.
Some of my interests include being outside, growing fruit trees, working in my orchard and garden, foraging, cooking healthy food, DIY, most things homesteading, preparedness/resilience, 'crunchy' mom stuff (breastfeeding and cloth diapers for example), self improvement.

Why I love blueberry nets!
For years I have tried to find the best solution to birds and Japanese beetles destroying our blueberry crop. Right now, I am using insect netting bags/nets and they are working really well!!
In this video I chat about the pros and cons, show the different nets I have and how amazing the blueberries look underneath the nets!

These are fall bearing red thornless raspberries that I planted last spring (Joan J variety from Nourse farms that I got with the bulk order I organized). They are looking great!!! This year I did a bulk order with friends from Cummins Nursery and Fedco Trees. This video briefly shows the boxes with trees and how I wrapped the trees for pickup so the roots didn't dry out.

Looks like a good setup and great techniques. I keep working at grapevine grafting and have pear trees to experiment with soon. ... The wax pot is very innovative but you should never put wax directly over a flame/heat source, best to use a double boiler in water. A neighbor when I was a kid burned his house down making candles that way. Older widower who had lived there nearly his whole life and I don't think had a lot of money nor insurance to move easily.
Thanks! Grapes are on my list to grow someday! Do you have any varieties that have done well for you? That is a good point about the wax melter....I have to watch it very carefully and swivel it away from the flame most of the time. I also put a washer over the flame to reduce it. I'm not sure if I mentioned that in the video or not 😆
