Most of the time I met Russian people, they were very hospitable and polite. Met people from Moscow, very helpful, one in Italy on holiday spoke fantastic English and helped us out with a broken down car. Anytime i meet them in Ireland they are friendly, and even the one's i met in Montenegro, though i admit i met grumpy, odd, rude ones too, they have been in the minority. I would say you are better off talking to the more educated one's, younger generation, intellectuals etc. I have heard too that a lot of them dont speak English, so that makes things work and I believe that if you go for meals with them and become their friend, they change in personality and lighten up a lot!

You must consider these rude Russians and not typical. The vast majority of Russians live on about $425 per month and can't afford overseas travel. I think the rude are those that feed from the oligarchs that robbed the country and that President Putin is trying to jail or fix this corrupt networks. The real Russians may not smile till you get to know them but they are tough and good hearted and good mannered people. So sad they aren't the Russians we come across on holidays.

I have lived in Russia for years now, and I see rudeness almost everyday... and no manners, people slurp on everything liquid they eat like pigs, they wash their mouth with the tea while eating making disgusting noises, kids fart while sitting at the table in purpose, everytime i go to a club, some rude asshole always asks me what am i doing in russia and almost wants to see my passport... i fell in love with a Russian monster, i mean woman, but once i came to Russia the mask fell off and i started to see how she and her family really are, they stab each other in the back, they talk shit about each other, i have been insulted not only by her but by her father also. And she was always pressuring me to marry or have a kid so she could get passport from my country since we enjoy the privilege of travel visa free to 150 countries while she has to get a visa beforehand even to go to bulgaria, how fkd up is that? i am glad i did none of the two...So i called it quits, fuck that shit... they are the ruddest and most hypocritical people i've ever met...

They live in a different world in Russia, fucking decades behind the western world, thats what happens when your country is crippled by communism and poverty for so long. It definitely shows, they dont understand what queuing is and they don't have a sense of fashion whatsoever. This doesnt necessarily represent all Russians but the ones you see on holidays (im not sure if they come from Moskow or towns/villages) look like trash to western europeans, it was definitely the case when i was in Turkey. These people were queuing for milk and bread a couple of decades ago so thats why they are so different to us. Its the same in Romania, there are so many people in money who were basically villagers in communist times. Gigi Becali, the owner of Steaua Bucharest (the biggest football team in romania) and i think the richest man in he country used to be a shepherd, looking after sheep. and is a total idiot. It just shows how these people walked into money after communism, and that your roots and upbringing dont just wash away with wealth

I had one threaten my life one night because I stuck up for a woman he was harassing when she was already married. Him and his mate had a weird sort of gait in their step that made me think they were from the military. It was pretty obvious I was out of my safe grounds even if he got drunk and fell on me. Not every Russian are bad but just most of them are 1. They're never care about customers or other people 2. They're never learn how to live with international rules. 3. They're never learn a second language (but this problem has been decreased because new Russian generation). one of the best example: many time in Moscow you can see a tourist buying metro ticket with angry seller.
