Zeigler is a TCU graduate, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies with an emphasis on Communication in 2015. He was a student-athlete for two years at Central Michigan, where he played for his father, Ernie Zeigler. Trey then went on to play one year at Pittsburgh before transferring to TCU where he averaged 10.1 points per game. Over his college career he scored 1,481 points, grabbed 581 rebounds, and dished out 251 assists.
