Had absolutely no idea these came factory in crew cabs, I swapped my crew cab cammed 6.0 to the nv4500 and love it. Sweet seeing a factory one
Not until I saw it on the dealership lot did I even think these existed. Bought it on the spot. Just sitting there in 2017.
Won't last long running like that
That is not the factory transmission in that truck they quit making the five speed in 2005
Sorry sir but you are incorrect!
RPO code is there ☺
I have a 05 sierra 2500hd ext cab 5 speed cai tune and exhaust work very fun trucks 3rd and 4th are fun
Clean LTD! What a beauty!
Would air in system effect stopping power with brakes ??
Yes. I think you would feel the brake pedal vibrate or pulsate too
Also I did this procedure with the Power steering cap on. Do it with the cap off. Aslong as the wheels are completely off the ground you should have no spillage
@2007Silvy thank you sir for the advice I appreciate the video🇺🇲💯
Did a flush, have a grinding sound at certain steering spots, is there air in my system?
Grinding or whining sound? A whining sound would indicate that you do have air in the system.
@@2007Silvy figured it out. Steering shaft rubbing on headers, have to readjust
@@Neutsie I love it when the problem is figured 👍🏽
@Neutsie did you make it work I have the same problem
@@joemonk3480 you'll have to beat the header in for clearance. most times it can be a worn motor mount causing it not to clear properly. You can change it, which still may not work in some cases, so beating in the header to clear is often the best way. And no it doesn't affect anything
Take me back man take me back. It's a damn shame the manual trans is no longer an option. To be honest though the trucks themselves were better way back when.
For anybody wondering, you can cut the fan shroud to fit the wider sized throttle body spacers on the stock intake manifold, but if you replace the stock intake manifold with the Dorman replacement intake manifold it moves your throttle body forward an inch and you have to run the thinner spacer and you can’t cut into the fan shroud because the intake tube is less than half an inch away from the fan blade. I think my intake tube has some scuffing on it from hitting bumps and it making my engine jerk forward and smack the fan blades.
So is anything different when its a new system install. Im installing a new steering box, power steering pump and hydro boost in my 65 cutlass
Whats done to it ?
Bolt ons. CAI, TB and Spacer, cat back. 35 inch tires tho and stock manifolds.
@@2007Silvy 4wd?? And why did you do a throttle body and spacer you can port the factory one pretty good if your handy with a dremel currently i have an 05 ext cab 6.0 with nv4500 and i have cai catless custom exhaust and a tune id like to cam it or spray worried about the clutch and tranny holding power tho seen them grenade before lol
@@2007Silvy why the tb and spacer you couldve ported the stock one and without a tune its not gonna gain much ? And why do you shift at such a high rpm stock power is mostly down low if you shift a little earlier you will be putting down more power in the next gear
I have always loved driving manual. I had a 05 2500hd extended cab with the same drivetrain. Found it online back in 2010 at a dealership in Vermont. Drove up there on a Saturday morning and came back with it that afternoon. Ended up getting rear ended and totalled back in 2016. I sure miss black beauty. Was such a fun truck to drive. Ended up getting a 06 duramax after that i still have and love but she is getting rough living here in ny. If i could find another gas job with an nv4500 for a reasonable price i would be all over it as much fun as my lbz is.
Good morning Sir! I'm looking to swap over my 4l80e from my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD to a NV4500 I pulled out of a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. Would you happen to have any tips for me? Currently I am worried about the flywheel from the 02 not fitting on the LQ4 I have in my Sierra. I am 90% sure that the 02 has the LQ4, I'm just looking for a second opinion. Thank you!

See if this helps
@@2007Silvy Thank you very much for your time and effort sir. I appreciate it. That guide is very helpful.
For sale??
Hey, great video! Hope you got the paint sorted OK. I need to remove the trim from my 78 marquis, looks a pretty similar process.
I rebuilt one Hydro boost. It blew out in one week then I replaced it with a Duralast from AutoZone and it blew out immediately what would be causing my seal to blow out in my Hydro boost
The pressure line running from the power steering to the hydro boost needs to be bled at the fitting. So the fitting that screws into the hydro boost at the top near your brake fluid reservoir. Ill look to see if I find the write up or video.
ruclips.net/video/62TNaHX5Ook/видео.htmlsi=_7-Qb5xo33-6ZGRv
@@2007Silvy I'm assuming I keep blowing the O-ring because both times I did not prime the system with the engine off I jacked it up and turn the wheels with the engine on first
@@2007Silvy watched a lot of videos. I have not seen nobody bleed it through cracking the line. They just turned the wheel back-and-forth and pump the brakes with the engine off.
Yeah never mind the cracking line. Do the process with the engine off 😅
Orgasms all over...
So cool!
Thanks for the video! I have a 2003, otherwise the same truck, and having huge issues with this. Had to replace the metal hose to the left of the system (inlet/pressure hose?) and calipers at the same time- struggling to get full power back to my brakes and I bet my power steering is not as good as it could be either, so not back on the road yet. I haven't tried this exact cycle but will!
Pretty fast for a truck!! It sounds good brotha
You do this with the cap on?
Im only curious as to where the air escapes
I have tried it with the cap off and the fluid level will rise past the reservoir and spill over. Needs to be done with the cap on!
You can hear the air hissing out of the cap and also you will see small bubbles in the fluid level. Which will continue to show for numerous cycles.
@2007Silvy cool, thanks for the reply. Appreciate it! I had a hose come off somehow, and I put it back on, but now the power steering is whining. I'm hoping this is all I have to do, at least til winter is over.
@@2007Silvy I did same base on other videos saying the cap should be off, what a mess. With the cap on it will still bleed air and a little fluid, but not like when the cap is off, it flows like a volcano.
Sure wouldn’t mind having me a truck like this
Sounds great! This would be 4.10 gears correct? What size tire are you running?
Yes 4:10s with 35x12.5x17s
109 MPH with 2012 accent sedan change my mind
That's the weakest pull I've ever seen 😂
Bro it’s a 2007 Silverado what did u expect a 0.4 90-110?
@@michaelbattaglia3229 no
damn she moves. my old 4.2 trailblazer topped out at 98😭it was quick for what it was though. i had the ext so it was a little slower than the standard one but still like 275hp. was a 6 cylinder and had more hp than my 2010 crown vic interceptor 😭
Damm she do be moving
Wdym that was slow as hell😂
i swear you can visibly see the fuel gauge going down, decent pull tho
bold of you to assume it works
Shes still got it
Heck ya she does. Depending on the down shift MPH she can do better.
Nice
Manual?
Yes
Yes Sir! NV4500 5 speed.
I've been looking for a video like this for this truck for a while.
nice trucks you need 4wd conversion kits lol!!!
No way bro more weight
Crazy how much better it accelerates with a man pedal over a 4 speed slush box
It sounds good. How many HP bro?
300 horses full weight.
Not really the smartest move talking quietly with the camera pointed directly at the engine while running, was interested in what u were talking about
Very cool to see that NV4500 5 speed manual transmission in the General Motors such as Chevrolet & GMC Trucks
I THINK ALL TRUCKS SOUND BAD IN ACCELERATION VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I think it’s a zf6, not a 5 speed
No its MW3 NV4500!
I wish the rpm dropped to 4000 after the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Pretty fast though!
Shifts quicker than GM’s 6 speed automatic. Much better than the 4l60
Hurst makes a short shifter for it too.
@@2007Silvy nice
A more experienced driver would be able to shift even quicker. The driver in the video is obviously pretty experienced but if you put a rally driver behind the wheel, that truck would fly through the gears.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
@@ilikerollercoasters4757it’s not hard too shift fast, it’s hard for the truck too shift fast it’s an extremely wide gear ratio truck transmission meant too haul lots of weight. Shift an nv4500 too fast your gonna grenade it real quick
It looks so clean for this kind of car these days.
Thanks for showing it! it is very helpful!!
That 5 speed really keeps it going I drove a 4 speed auto and the gearing just felt so sluggish
4.10 gearing helps!😁
My pro code in glove box says I have 4:10 it’s a 4x4 but I call her the silver slug bc she doesn’t move out of her own way😂 she’ll tote 12k behind her though
@@joshspencer4294put 4.30 gears or put a higher stall
Bad ass truck man I have 1500hd 6.0 4x4
Wow, I barely see this car. It is good to see once in a while. Get some power and tune it.
Let's race!! I have Sienna Van.
You son of *****! Lol 😂🤣
Nothing is better than a manual shift. Nice and clean looking truck!!!
Such a cool spec, don't think I've ever seen another crew cab with the NV4500--let alone an 07 at that! How fun is to drive?
Very fun!!! Every stoplight is a drag race 😂😅
i just want to personally thank you for documenting these videos with this truck your contributions won't go unnoticed!
Not the best videos but it does document a super rare truck! Your Welcome 🙂
