5:00 i almost think of Les as a Frank Zappa with a bass who truly didnt give a fuck and wasn't so pretentious and deliberately trying to be avant garde. Sometimes I feel like Frank Zappa should still be some old record producer dude with a silver hair pony tail, talking about the old times.... Primus lives rent free in my head for the live of my vacant property.

I find that Les' IQ is so high that some (Hetfield mainly) simply don't 'get' him. With all due respect to Metallica, I think they're straight up mainstream metal and nothing more, nothing less. OTOH, even Dave Mustaine, IMO, was too smart for Mustaine. He proved that with the complexity of the arrangements in Megadeth. Far superior musicianship (again, IMO) in both Primus and Megadeth.

I noticed how conservative Hetfield seemed, maybe it was tbe tv cameras and stuff, and Les it seemed was never posing and always himself. Just an observation.
