    Put divider all the way to the main caps. A proper dry sump system should be at a minimum of 5 stages. And six for one in the intake valley for perfect drain back is limited without it. Now days the use of cam sync. leave room in the rear of the intake to a pick up made of hard tube

    I went with Howards about 4 years ago in my 496 NA and loved 😍 the cam and bought a second one for my 505 then built 4 468 for my 69 Chevelle of course it's a street ride,My Drag car goes 566 all day off idle a Power outer would scare me,Howards is great products and great tech advise!!! Yall funny 😅😅😅😅😅😅

    It sounds very general but in my experience with mild 350 SBC with at least 1.94" smoggers or vortecs an around 230°/ .480"/ 108lsa cam runs pretty strong with a nice sounding idle.when I was young n dumb I tried a comp magnum 292 in a mild 350 and it was super numb down low but around 2500 like a light switch it woke right up and ran strong and the idle...wooo sexy unfortunately it was in a lifted square body so it got changed.

    Did you ever borescope to see how the coating held up? I did a set of pistons I'll admit my process wasn't as to spec as Cerakote recommends but I also don't see a huge issue with my process. Vehicle NA 5.3 cammed 5000 miles later it's like 30% gone off the piston I checked. Trying to decide if it's even worth doing if it doesn't last very long or if I messed up.

    Bigger is always better, up and until the heads/intake will no longer support the flow needed for said cam/rpm range (talking n/a drag racing). If you're making a street driver, then it's a whole other ballgame! And as an n/a drag race guy, I always jam as much compression as I can get into it!

      I just had 300-026 darton sleeves installed in my LS block, the machine shop left the same protrusion, asked them about that. They said it's to counter sleeve sinking!? Why it would sink with a massive machined shoulder, they didn't have a response to that, i contacted darton, John C. Respond; "As long as the sleeves are completely seated a +.002 protrusion is ok. This gives a little more crush on the head gasket to seal. LS9 mls gasket will do just fine." Thank you for responding

    Vizards formula isn't for general use its specifically 10.5:1 n/a 4 inch bore sbc obviously it wont work on bbc because thats a different formula which is 131 or 132. He has also states that several times in every 128 video that it doesn't work for every random engine.

    • @Anarchy-Is-Liberty
      @Anarchy-Is-Liberty 7 месяцев назад

      Yes, if you want to really get that super, insanely technical, then every single engine will be completely different than the last, unless they are built exactly the same way, with the same parts. That's why I love "recipes" for engine builds.

      I still run flat tappets myself, gotta remember, flat tappets powered a lot of cars for a very long time! And if I'm going a little more radical then solid flat tappet it is! They're cheap and they definitely work! Just gotta make sure you're running a good oil with zinc and you're good to go! People thinking you have to go roller to be competitive is just not so, as a matter of fact went to a big street car shootout last summer and they're was over 90 cars entered and the winner was a guy running an old 406 sbc with a hydraulic flat tappet! That thing was screaming, he had it in one of those old Monza Spyder's, really cool setup for sure!
