Very fine play with alot of passion and feel for music. And a good setting for this! Less is often way more.
Thank you
Pretty awesome.
I think it sounds better unplugged
Wow!
Do you still have and enjoy it?
Thanks Hux-ster
In my perspective, sss pickups is very nice on Yamaha Pacifica
You've got a real nice groove bro! Sounds tremendous. I've got one of those Mustang GTX 100 amp's. Love that amp!
Wow, beautiful lead bro!
Really amazing! How are sounds with gain ? Is it good two with headphones ?
Really the sound is very good with your strat. I am just wondering how does it sound with max gain. Do you use it with headphones ? Is the sound as good as with speaker ? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Thanks. I stack a clean boost and a blues driver for most of my gain. I don’t usually get anymore gain than that. I never use this one with headphones. Typically if I’m playing with headphones I use my Katana mini or my new Positive Grid Spark Go. The spark go is the best headphone amp I’ve ever used.
You dialed it in just right. Great tone.
It sounds totally ordinary… nothing really interesting in this preset 👎👎👎
Maybe it’s you whose just ordinary..
Put jj tubes in it and it gets a warmer tone for better blues.
Thanks for the tip. I plan on ordering a Blues Jr tube set so I have spares. I’ve also decided I’m going to make a box to put the head in that will match the cab. Thanks for watching!
@@hackleberryguitar4517 That's a good idea Fender tubes in it. Also making a nice wood cabinet is really cool. What I did was put jj's in it and the tone got warmer and to get more volume and better clean sound I bought a high db sensitive low Watt 12" speaker 102 db it's a lot louder now. I used a closed back 1 12 cabinet. A working guitar player friend said for me to stop chasing tone with this setup. He loves it now. I used a Fulltone overdrive. It really is a good sounding setup so good luck with yours thanks for the reply.
@@joe-dp3ng It will be a JJ set for Blues Jr
@@hackleberryguitar4517 ok good I think because there is only one preamp and one power tube it is a noticeable difference I took the original tubes out the same day I got it. I have since tried 4 kinds. The original Chinese ones. Older marshall tubes. Sovtec and jj's. High gain tubes just don't sound that good to me. Jj's are medium gain. My buddy said that the amp itself is great now for blues with the gain on ten and the phat switch on at 1 watt and two thirds volume. He doesn't like that there is no footswitch for the phat control. I don't gig so no big deal. I will say I do have a JJ 12ax7 and a sovtec el84 in it now because the power tube don't make as big of a difference as the preamp tube does. I use jj's for many years now and get great life and sound in 3 different amps I have. Let me just say if you have not looked into db sensitivity of speakers much you may want to because anything over 98 db sensitivity rating makes an amp sound much louder. I have a 2 12 and a 4 12 cabinet my eminence 1 12 speaker has a 102 db sensitivity and in a closed back cabinet it is really nice it's about the best sound I have with my Les Paul standard.
Got the same guitar but I opted for the *Plus* . Also go it from Sweetwater which is a _great_ place to do business with and I highly recommend them.
Got a 012 Pacifica today, better than Fender strats at a third of the price. Nice blues.
I like the vintage feel and sound of my Strat but the smaller more angular body is also comfortable and flatter neck profile and tall frets on the Pacifica allow me to get the action much lower. The Pacifica is definitely hard to beat for the price. I have been working on some more mods on my Pacifica such as: changing it to HSS, new paint, and a black pickguard. Congrats on the new guitar and thanks for watching.
Thanks for doing a demo showing off the clean tones. Sounds good, the demo reminded me a bit of Peter Green's tones, and it probably sounds even better in person. Cheers
does the amp still work? have you had any crashes?
Sorry for the late response. The amp is working perfectly. The amp is 4 years old and I’m still running stock tubes. The only thing I have changed is I started using an external reverb pedal instead of the internal one. Thanks for watching.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 :)
Nice tone. Nice playin...thinking about this amp. Can't wait to try. Love blues jrs
I think this amp does a really good job on the smaller powered tube amps. The Blues Jr, Princeton, Champ, and AC 30 are my go to amps. Thanks for watching.
super budget tone! but i think those speakers and cab are pretty special, and maybe not soo ‘budget.’
$120 in speakers and probably another $100 in cabinet materials. It’s my plan to get some more small heads to use with it.
Thanks for the great vid and awesome jam. Been watching vids on the Monoprice SR 15 combo and now this Bugera came on the radar and they both sound really good. Your playing was spot-on for letting the amp really shine. Guess I’ll just have to get one of each I suppose
Thank you for watching. I haven’t played the Monoprice 15 combo, but I have been looking for a used one to try out. I have really been pleased with the tones I get out of the little Bugera. The 3 output levels are nice for controlling volume and the internal reverb is pretty good.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 Thanks again. I ordered the Monoprice this week, on sale from Amazon. If I like it I’ll probably pick up the Bugera as well. Wanting to get back into playing after a 10 yr hiatus and that could be a sweet little stereo rig for my pedal board.
Hello. Thanks for the demo. How can I download the patches.? I suppose they are available on Fender Tone. Cheers
I actually lost these presets. I made them before completing the firmware update and didn’t save them. I have since made some like them though.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 Ah, it is a pity. The new ones, how can be found on Fender tone? I am still learning how to configure everything to get a reasonable tone and like to see good examples.
Stoked me up! I get my tele and gtx100 today :)
Lots of great sustain. Very strange, another video came up in my feed for the Fender GTX. I think this sounds way better for mellow type leads anyway.
That's pretty cool. I upgraded my T5 with Sovtek 12AX7 and JJ EL84.
I finally ordered some new tubes to replace the stock ones. I just ordered a Blues Jr JJ set. That gives me two changes.
Wowwww dude!
Thanks and thank you for watching!
Hey man, nice mods to that Pacifica. I had an HSS so Installed two Irongear Vintage 6TS (Alnico II) pickups and a Hermann's Guitars P90 in the bridge position (you can find them on ebay Germany). It's very cool in this configuration as well. I changed the pots to 500k and added resistors to make the single coils 'see' around 250k. I did a few other 'cosmetic' changed. Overall, I'm quite happy with the changes but I would like to change the bridge, I'm looking to make the tone a bit more focused.
Thanks! I’m now on Pacifica mods 2.0 with a refinish in metallic purple with a black guard. All that’s left is to pick out my pickups because I want it to be HSS now since I have a Strat that’s SSS. I’ve been looking at Alnico II to put in and a nickel or chrome humbucker for the bridge. I have the first refinish video posted but I’m a little behind on the rest. I’ve been wondering about adding resistors to the pots but I’ve never done that. Thanks for watching.
That speaker is utter crap
Well… it’s a 6” practice speaker. Thanks for watching
Paul, IRL I’m willing to bet you can’t find a better 6 inch speaker than these Eminence 610Hs on the market lol. Were made specifically to replace old fender champ speakers and punch well above their weight.
It doesn't sound bad on the single notes to me, but sounds a little boxy with chords - but what do you expect with only 6".
Eminence don't make crap speakers. Sure, it's not a 4x12" cab. It's a small practice setup he has. I have the same. Bugera T5 to a 6" Eminence 50W in an old Korg Micro-cube box and you know what? It sounds awesome! ..it doesn't have the power of my tweed blues Jr, but for a mini setup, it sounds really nice and the break-up is rich and warm. Don't judge a book by it's cover dude...
Cool man I think the 200 series are better than that V-Class stuff.
Lol I did the same thing with a Vox VT40+ I didn't like the sound out of it and now I'm getting ready to use it the same way you are.
Great job made that thing sing sweetly
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Sounds great !! I got mine last week !! I love it. I put some Ernie ball rock and blues strings.
Thanks! I love mine as well. I’m still running the elixirs on mine and I’m not sure what I’m going to try since elixirs aren’t my favorite.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 try the Ernie balls man. They are awesome !
These Ernie ball rock and blues are my new favorite strings. Bending is crazy easy and overall comfortable to play for longer periods. They aren’t my favorite playing unplugged in a group setting because of the volume drop combined with the GA’s smaller body, but man on there own and plugged in they are great. Thank you for the advice!
Nice playing 👍😎
Thanks for watching
Do Fender GTX 50 and Fender GTX100 have exactly the same built in Pedal Patches , and also line out? Thanks.
Yes both are the same as far as those go. The differences are I the speaker, cabinet size, and the 50 doesn’t come with the foot switch.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 Thanks.
Nice if you put some Lemon Oil on that fretboard it will darken and look beautiful
I have put 3 coats on since I posted this video and it has darkened quite a bit. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful playing!
3:28 blue on black?
Nice review. I’d like one of these without cutaway and without electronics. Can I ask, what’s that strapped to the headstock?
Thanks. I would rather it didn’t have the cutaway but I wanted rosewood back and sides with a satin finish. The thing on the headstock is a leather pick holder that my wife got me for Christmas that came with a custom engraved wooden pick. It called Pick Mate. Thanks for watching!
@@hackleberryguitar4517 ah right. Not seen one of those before. Unfortunately I’m not sure Taylor produce any 200 models now that’s are non cutaway and definitely not without electronics (and I have zero need for those). So I’ll have to look at something else. Maybe a Martin 000
@@2134yanto Guitar Center had a 214E deluxe but it was gloss Sunburst. I needed a pickup or I would have gotten the Streetmaster 000. I’ll probably look into getting one of those used in the future.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 wouldn’t a 214e have a pick up? Looked on the Taylor website and all 200’s now appear to be electronics and cutaways. Kind of puts me off. I’m not a fan of cutaways and don’t use pick ups. Shame because I like Taylor and how they play
@@2134yanto The 214ce does have an ES2 pickup. If the the Martin Streetmaster had one I would have picked it over the 214 since it’s not a cutaway. Overall I’m happy with my purchase even with the cutaway. This is my first Taylor. It’s a huge upgrade from my Fender T-Bucket.
What’s your loop pedal?
The Mustang GTX has a looper built into the foot switch. I also own a Ditto looper from TC electronics that I use with my Bugera. Thanks for watching.
Well it's not bad. What setting did you use on the mustang. Sorry if I missed that bit. The kustom sounds a bit more natural to me.
Fender Acoustasonic preset and a large hall reverb. The Mustang is the main amp I use since it has presets for both my electric and my Taylor. I bought the Kustom PA50 to use around the house for vocals but I wanted to see how it would sound with the Taylor. It’s my plan to get a dedicated acoustic amp in the future. Thanks for watching.
Hi, great playing & tone! I just bought the Fender Mustang LT25. I know it doesn’t have as many presets or effects as the GTX but I am a beginner on guitar so I think it is a good amp to start with! One question, the LT25 doesn’t have a loop option, if I get a good loop pedal would this be a good option with the LT25? Thanks !!
The LT25 is a good little amp and it has enough sounds to let you figure out the tones you like. Looper pedals are great practice tools. It will help you with the timing of your rhythm when you create the loop and practice improvising over the loop. I got the tc electronic ditto looper ($89) about 3 years ago and I still use it with my Bugera 5W amp. I have also used the Boss RC-1 and the Donner looper. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 Hi, thanks for the quick reply! I am happy I have found your videos on YT! Your style of playing and the tones you seem to prefer are exactly what I am aiming for. Thanks for the info about the looper pedals.. will definitely check them out👍
Great tone and nice playing! If possible, Can you show your sound patch settings (App, or Amp) I think it would help us visual learners. Thanks
Thanks! Yeah I plan on making a video on this weekend on my top presets I use and this is one of them. I’m going to start adding photos of the preset settings in the top right corner of the screen in future videos. Thanks for watching
Nice review. I've got the 50 but mini is on the way. It'll have it's nitch for me, portability. Tiny but still sounds like an amp. I've listened to alot of great reviews. Seems most point out the max volume, I think alot of people need to think about situations where they need an amp that they can dial down very quiet too. Motel rooms etc. Blackstar Flybis one that gets good reviews for its micro size, but I've seen a few comments that it's lowest setting is too much for certain settings. Looks like the Katana mini fills that niche, too. Cheers !
I take it and my looper pedal when I go on trips. It works for me. Enjoy your new amp and thanks for watching.
Your playing is great, sounds like 60's Santana or the mellower Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac.
Thank you for you kind words and thanks for watching.
Great video! I love everything about my GTX50 EXCEPT the bluetooth connection. Any tips or shortcuts for connection to the bluetooth?
Thanks! I played mine live for the first time this past Saturday and this is what I did after every break. 1. Open Bluetooth settings and connect to amp 2. Open Fender tone app and connect to amp It tends to find it faster connecting in this order and it worked flawlessly for me at my gig. I plan on making another video like this going through the process of making a preset from scratch and another on my 10 most used presets. Thanks for watching.
Nice rig , is that the Vintera 60’s road worn ?
Thanks. It’s not road worn, just a Vintera 60s in Ice Blue Metallic. The road worn versions came out shortly after I bought this one.
Nice review. Would this be loud enough to keep up with a fairly loud rock band? My cab is a Hughes and Kettner 1x12 with a 12" Eminence Cannabis Rex.
It might work if you mic’d the cab, but the Bugera G20 head might work better for you. It’s still relatively affordable as far as tube heads go
Try. But yes, you might have to mic up if they're really loud. I have the same amp and a Cannabis Rex and the CRex is a pretty efficient speaker so even though a single output tube has its limits it can go louder than most people would think. Btw. it will be even louder through a 4x12 with similar speakers.
Sounds Great, I just received mine. Do you know anything about Repairs on these Modeling Amps? Fender said nope 😐
Thanks. I’ve had mine for almost a year now with no issues. As far as repairs go during the warranty period it would probably just be swapped out short of a speaker failure or something easy like that. I don’t think anyone would work on them post warranty since it is digital. I’m sure there will be software updates to both the amp and the app over time. Thanks for watching and enjoy your new amp.
Repair techs call these disposable amps.
Thanks for this very interesting video. How much is the hum/background noise of this amplifier?
I only have single coil guitars so there is some but it’s not much. This little amp will do cleans to good blues/rock overdrive. I typically set the gain to 5 to 6 and then use an overdrive pedal to with the drive pretty low to boost it. Thanks for watching.
@@hackleberryguitar4517 Thank you very much! I'm in the process of selecting a mini head. Not having the chance of testing the T5 in a shop, I have to rely on reviews and feedback of other owners. What attracts me is its it classic and simple 12AX7-EL84 electric design packed with some goodies like reverb, a sophisticated bias control, headphone output, and power reduction at a very good price. 😎
@@piemmetubo it’s a good little amp. Mine is almost 3 years old and it still has the stock tubes. The internal reverb is decent but sometimes I use a pedal. The attenuator is probably my favorite feature and I kept it in 1w mode most of the time. The cabinet in the video was made to use with this amp, but I also converted a broken 10w Kustom practice amp into a cab. I have another video playing the amp with the small cab if you want to see how it sounds through a smaller speaker.
Thanks for this very interesting video. How much is the hum of this amplifier?
