Any chance you know the spark plug model in these? I want to confirm mine and can't find any info getting the briggs and stratton website
important man. he is almost half the video. bad lighting, could go out on a sunny day. no info. i find good information on youtube but things like this waste our time
Cool little engine.
TY Not a Very common engine
What style generator could this be attached to?
I am not sure, but a smaller one that requires 1 1/2 HP or less
I have a power craft 3 horsepower Montgomery Ward's generator. Went through the carburetor also cleaned up the pull start an added a nice base that's rubber isolated. I know it doesn't have any overload protection but I went ahead and tried my Makita angle grinder and skill saw. Pulled down the engine a little bit ran both at same time for a few minutes. Powerful little unit.
Very cool!!
Please be careful to use non-ethanol gasoline, or drain it and run completely out of fuel when not needed, otherwise it ruins the carb float over time.
I have always used Boat gas with no ethanol. Thanks for the tip!!
The sound of that ole Clinton took me back. When I was young I used to cut the Churches big lawn with a small Three fixed wheel lawn mower. That ole engine never let me down. Was always easy to start and very strong...
Glad you enjoyed the Video. I remember when Clinton & Briggs and Stratton were in competition for number one mower engine
Hello, me and my daughter just purchased the same generator! The original owner got it started for a few seconds then it stalled. I would appreciate any assistance or direction in making a reliable unit again.
Sounds like 1. old gasoline 2. Carburetor needs cleaning less likely spark plug needs cleaned
Newer than 1946. The 46 was base fill. Also a curved fin. Has to be a 1948 or newer
Looks just like mine, except mine doesn't have the Powr-Kraft branding. Just Montgomery Ward. I have a video of it on my channel.
You are right, I watched your video. Probably exactly the same generators badged differently!!
@@Bigjoedo66 It's interesting to see what it looks like with the factory muffler. Mine came with a "custom" exhaust from the previous owner.
I have a Tecumseh H30 engine that came from a Craftsman generator, I swapped out the crankshaft for a non-tapered one and am planning on putting it on a minibike. They seem to be very well-made engines, mine came with a Stellite exhaust valve and iron cylinder liner.
Cool, I have seen a lot of mini bikes with Tecumseh engines
I just picked up one of these and got it running today. It's been sitting outside for years, possibly went through a flood too, but after a good cleaning and filing the points plus putting a carb diaphragm kit in it, it ran and generates power! Smokes a bit but it does still work!
Cool, glad you got it running!!
@@Bigjoedo66 Funny part is the guy I got it from had it sitting outside at his place for over a year and never once even looked at it to see if it was even able to turn over let alone run. I played with it for maybe 30 seconds before determining it was likely runnable. He asked how I knew that. I said , "Simple. Its complete and it has compression. Everything else is fixable " 15 minutes to pull the flywheel and file and reset the points and 5 more to put a diaphragm kit in the carb (had one in my tool box even!) and add oil. A few pulls and it fired up then gave slight bog a few seconds after when the generator self excited. The rest was just fine tuning to make trun well and get the RPM's up high enough to get the at load voltage up to where it should be, ~ 110 volts @ ~1500 watts.
Tcmtech About 3 or 4 summers ago I also picked one of these up for 30 bucks. After about an hour I had it working perfectly. I also saw it had complete parts and compression.
Very cool
You should try to get the original gas tank, air cleaner, and muffler to make it original! Good luck finding original parts though lol
You are right about that LOL
hey buddy i got a witte 2hp the model number is b33000 speed 60.0 do you know what yr it is
I would guess 1923-1924 www.gasenginemagazine.com/engines-a-z/1923-2-hp-witte
That makes me so happy. I have a 68 clinton with speed reducer. That speed reducer can bring it to break 104 ft lbs of tourque. How did you start it? Rap the rope around the flywheel and pull i guess?
So the gear reduction won't turn at all?
I tried wrapping a rope around the pulley which i guess is attached to the flywheel and pull on that. The speed reducer turns with engine, obviously slower because of 6:1 gear reduction. Cant seem to get it started. I drained the fuel tank, lines, float carb which look very good but it doesnt seem like a spark. Do ya think the magnetos can go bad on em? Doesnt seem like any things that go bad. -thanks Mike
How is that a 49? Mine is a 68 I think and it looked older than that!! lol
It has been a while since I worked on the engine. Try cleaning the points, condensers do go bad and maybe a new spark plug wire?
Based on the serial number
where did you get new tank ? .. I haven't got one at all .

all hand made heavy duty
I'm planning to put a p rail in mine too. What my saddles are those? I'm going with graphtech, I think.
They are Graphtech
Oh I can see the piezo wires. You built exactly what I'm building. (Though, I haven't decided on changing out either SC yet, so I should say almost exactly) You have the acoustsphonic preamp? Hexpander? Wanna upload some audio?
No Piezo wires or preamp. Just a P-rail with a Triple shot trim ring. Seymour Duncan LIttle 59 in the middle.I use the factory pull pot to coil split the little 59 and the factory single coil in the neck
Oh that's funny. In the close up of the triple shot I swear I could see wires. Some kind of reflection. How do you like the p rail?
I like the P-rails. Here is a good sample of P-rails in action. You can use the push pull pots like in the video or the Triple shot trim rings. ruclips.net/video/4DzPb0wbFEA/видео.html
Is it not exciter cranked through the 12v windings?
That they are,Thanks for looking!!
These are durable little engines!
Very nice Aermotor Joe! Thanks for sending me the link -thumbs up!
Hi Joe, is there anyway you could post some photos or a video showing the original packing list in the tool box?
I have the same model with the same gear reduction but my engine doesn't have the stickers and was painted blue
Nice little bit on the rich side,it should sound even all times
The guy I bought it from had paperwork, with date information
So, How do you know its a 1946????
Yes it would work for a few lights, a small air compressor. Run a sump pump when the power goes out etc.
I just bought one of these for 30bucks. Does it put out decent power?
Very nice! I have one on an old Army generator - long live Briggs alpha series - thumbs up!
Nice resto paint job!
nice rare piece you have to keep it original, I have a water pump Clinton motor and it runs great
Thanks, Clintons are nice engines
Cool !! I understand Sears bought engines from Briggs & Stratton , Tecumseh and Kohler engine
mine says brigs&straton on it
Hi, I just bought a JK. Do you use a lead additive in the gas?
+Bennie G No just unleaded gas
Your breather is on wrong!
Thanks Mike, I agree.
I have the same unit I purchased at an auction, it seems to have good compression, but no spark. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the parts or can I convert it to pointless ignition ?
Saturn supply
Sweet running A. Just got mine running, and painted it recently. Mine is a 1946 model.
Model 722 ABR6
what model is it?
722ABR-C6
Best guess, there was not a lot of data kept on the serial number. These are usually 1920-1930 so I picked a number in the middle. Thanks for the reply!!
I must ask, how can one determine the year of one of these?
Mine was a 1935 model. It had the Tillotson updraft carburetor.
Thanks Roadking!! Have a new muffler. Still trying to remove the old one.
Looks like we got us a fire breather eh!!☺
Looking good Bud!! It seems to like the clean tank eh!!☺
Thanks Dirtbike, Yes very similar to an LB. Thanks for the comment
Pretty cool I have an International LB I will be selling soon, similar to this engine
