Some really great points made in the podcast! I think another thing to blame retailers for are the locals only raffles and the IG raffles. There's like 0 skateshops or Nike stores nearby and so when I see that it's an instant L for me. Also the "tag 2 friends, like, follow..." IG raffles seem a little suspicious. I like how you mentioned the gambling problem with non-retailer ran raffles. I'm always torn about following people that do this sort of thing. The people behind the raffles are always nice and their pages and sites are always well made. But at the end of the day, the raffle is serving people who could develop a serious gambling problem if they haven't already. So it seems like taking advantage of the gambling part of people's personalities. What do you think about Vans? They're one of my favorite brands and make up the majority of my sneaker collection. They've been around for about the same time as Nike. They also have their staple pieces and their hype collabs. But I never hear any controversy about Vans drops or the brands they collaborate with.. or really any controversy at all. How have they kinda stayed in the middle ground where they seem to make all of their fans happy?
