I've been trying to find the "king oak of Kings county" that he had in "Meetings with remarkable trees" but outside of the book I can't find anything about the tree on the internet.
My favourite book of his is The Year of Liberty : the great Irish rebellion of 1798
history is all over the place ! .
Lawrence was homosexual and a sadomasochist. My father knew him in the RAF. Most gay men have very close female friends, but that is not sexual. Lawrence used to visit gay saunas, and surrounded himself with young men at his home. This author seems to hero worship Lawrence, and want to claim him as a heterosexual. Otherwise, the research is interesting.
I've read twenty books about Lawrence and hundreds of letters from and to him, but I've never found anything about him visiting gay saunas, or any conclusive evidence that he was gay.
I'd be interested to hear the evidence for your assertions.
