      No. I intentionally did enough close zooms of the code and labelled the components so that you can reproduce it. The reason why is because transcription is an excellent learning experience. Good Luck.

      I'm not sure why this is happening in your case but a way to safeguard against this is to use the command "OptionsExport" to save most of your customizations to a text file and then if your UI resets to default again, use the command "OptionsImport" and select that saved text file to hopefully get all of your customizations back.

    Hi guy. I use Dynamo to create Mass I'm having a problem using the FamilyType.ByGeometry node, and more specifically the "Category" entry. I want to create a conceptual mass (link from my templatePath) and the associated category is "Mass". However, when I launch my script, Dynamo reports the following problem: "FamilyType.ByGeometry operation failed. Category with name Mass not found". I should point out that I'm launching the Dynamo plugin from a conceptual Volume Family window. Do you know where this error could be coming from?

    Awesoime video! I'm getting an error however, constantly, that my dimension line references must be set to al element that hosts and element in the family. I've tried everything including modeling in new things that are not visible just so there are elements hosted on my reference lines, and it still isn't working. Has this ever happened to you?

    • @numnumbirdynumnum
      @numnumbirdynumnum Год назад

      Is this the error? “A reporting parameter can be used in a formula only if its dimension references are all to host elements in the family.”

    • @CogitoErgoSumFortis
      @CogitoErgoSumFortis Год назад

      @@numnumbirdynumnum that's the one! I worked around it by using different dimensions set for the formulas and others (the precise ones) for the reporting parameters. The only issue is that the other dimensions that reference the adaptive points go crazy when inserting them into the host family and differ wildly with the actual measurements of the width and length :((

    • @numnumbirdynumnum
      @numnumbirdynumnum Год назад

      Make sure that when you dimension from adaptive point to adaptive point, that your placement (host) plane for the dimension is one of the point-to-point reference line planes.

    • @CogitoErgoSumFortis
      @CogitoErgoSumFortis Год назад

      @@numnumbirdynumnum I tried this but it was still giving in accuracies :( but perhaps something got messed within the family from the number of changes I made. I'll try your suggestion again on a new file, thank you for taking the time!

    • @numnumbirdynumnum
      @numnumbirdynumnum Год назад

      A way to visually check this is to grab each adaptive point and drag it around. If the dimensions break you failed to host them properly. If they are hosted properly the next thing that would check is whether or not you correctly named points relative to the Formulas…. Also that the formulas are correctly transcribed.

    I had a white shepherd mix, looked like he was purebred, but we knew he wasn't. We named him BARF after my father's Georgia Tech lab group, the Biomass Assimilation Research Facility where Pop and his lab assistants practiced Special Highly Innovative Technology. Barf had a sweet and gentle temperament, but he could not be confined either in a fence or a cage or crate. He destroyed a chain link fence, even a transport cage designed for a circus tiger. He dug through a sheet rock wall into a restaurant next door to the pet shop where we had boarded him. The owners of the shop took him home with them and when we went to pick him up, he was lying on a rug behind the counter with a red bow around his neck and a spritz of doggie-safe fragrance. We were asked never to bring him back. He simply had to be with people, hated to be alone. He was one of those you could never quite figure if he was THAT dumb or THAT smart (I leaned toward smart enough to know when to play dumb. He could climb into my bed without waking me up.

    I see this is an older video but maybe you can help me out with something. I have been playing around with this feature. It works well until I import the file to Revit. Let’s say the region I chose in sketchup geolocation is 500x500 feet. When I open the file in Revit it is as if I selected a much larger region in sketch up geolocation crammed into a 500x500 space. It would be like you seeing more of Central Park. In your Revit topo even though if you checked the size of the space it would match that of the sketch up region.

    • @numnumbirdynumnum
      @numnumbirdynumnum 6 лет назад

      Ola Marcelo, As far as I know, you cannot harvest linework for roads or buildings from Google Earth. The way to draw roads on a Revit topography is in the "Massing & Site" tab, to use the "Subregion" tool, and to draw them by hand (or duplicate the lines of an imported DWG). Open Street Map collects some very simple road and (flat top) building data that can be harvested by some kinds of software like Lumion, but to harvest it yourself is tricky. wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Downloading_data

      Hi Joseph, No problem. YT removed an audio editing feature in 2017 and it has yet to return. I'd be happy enough to re-upload but I don't know how I would alter the results. I checked again with a few other colleagues and they can hear the audio fine so I'm wondering what's making it quiet for you. So just checking again...In a windows environment, down on the bottom right hand corner of the screen there's a speaker symbol you can click on and increase your PC audio; then in YT itself, there's an audio adjustment by clicking the speaker symbol at the bottom left hand corner of the video. Other than that I can only think of maybe an external speaker has a volume knob that's turned down? Or there's something obstructing your speakers? That can happen if you've got a laptop closed and you're looking at external monitors instead.
