its a simple "unlicensed" aka homebrew racing game made for the wii. you steer along a predefined track in a "cyberpunk" themed city with "synthwave" music in the back ground. the video does not have any sound.
They are like gamedev logs but without sound. Only Wii homebrew games that are either already completed or in development. They are a series of free game created for the hacked Wii.
Hey NewoGame, Im looking for resources to start developing my own little homebrew app, do you happen to know of a discord by any chance? The background looks great by the way.
I don't know of any Wii homebrew dev specific discords. Most people just setup devkitpro and hack away at C/C++ until they get something working. You can check GitHub for homebrew projects or checkout wiibrew.org for info on projects.
This is an experiment I started last year. Trying to make a 2d racer using 3d objects in grrlib. The track is a spline generated +z using simplex noise. The landscape is extended from the left and right of the track so there are no gaps. I haven't done much with it recently.
It might be hard to tell but this version runs better than the previous version and cleans up some of the more intense city scapes. Hopefully I get a chance to work on it some more in the future. Thanx for playing.
This game has to be one of my favorite peices of wii homebrew. The simple atari like graphics looks amazing. The game play is awsome. This game is just phenomenal. Keep up the good work.
There is no way to create a "custom track". The tracks are generated in game using rules that I define in the code. The code basically creates the track from start to finish then smooths out the rough edges and overlaps before letting the player drive. In this video I am testing redraw rate
Generating tracks has its own problems but since I have 100% control over the art style I can do it without worrying about realizm. You can play the game on a hacked ninty Wii or emulate it in the dolphinEmu on pc. The base game has 80 tracks.
@@arkin0x sometimes it generates a track that I like because I like flyovers and underpasses. So you will see me testing on the same tracks because I just like those tracks. Its not totally random the first 16 tracks are always the same layout so it seems like a hand crafted game.
This shit's fire
looks really good!
cool
Nice. God bless.
what exactly am i looking at
I am making a solar system planetary rotation game
Not sure what's happening here
oh celestial mechanics factorio?
really like video at 4 seconds in simple orbital mechanics and idea to make a game for it just need some fantasy
Old basic aabb square fustrum
this is getting better by the day
Lines and circles everywhere
art, how about a rhythm game?
Rhythm games require too much music syncing. They would be hard for me to make.
3D update?
Experiment. It's viewable but hard to spawn the planets where you want them to be. Unless I allow camera control.
nice
Experiment. Testing to see that solo planets have a circular orbit. Of course when they start interacting they would be circular anymore
nice
chat, can I get a rundown on what the fuck I'm looking at and who this guy is?
its a simple "unlicensed" aka homebrew racing game made for the wii. you steer along a predefined track in a "cyberpunk" themed city with "synthwave" music in the back ground. the video does not have any sound.
When I thought this was an ARG.
what is ARG?
so now they all interact with each other? nice
yes, that will be the basic challenge to get as many to stay in orbit as possible
is the outer circle of a planet its gravity effect or something?
the outer circle is the gravity effect of the body. the sun/star is the biggest cycle
so cool solar system simulator
pretty much, simple gravity to make it easy to pick up and play
Newo, what's this? Looks like bird's eye view of a race or something
Solar system with planets orbiting a star. you can place the planets anywhere you want using the red circle
do they have less mass now? or you gave em speed?
I balanced the speed so they dont head directly to the sun. crashing in to the sun is now game over.
nice work can you add some kind of overlay that displays the speed?
@@_Loki_ they are all moving at different speeds. the only thing that really matter is that they dont collide
@@newogame1 i was saying like some overlay if you hover on a planet, maybe in future versions still, this is great
this is really cool, keep it up
All i need to do now is make it into some kinda game
what exactly is going on here
Planets rotating around a sun. Trying to make it into some kinda game.
Looking great!
This is a high camera view. The normal view is much lower to the track.
these hills are starting to look hella good
Just a little experiment in a 2d style racer like top gear
holy

you've got this
Just playing around with mountains
whats this
Experiment. Was trying to make a 2d racer through a continuous landscape
It was never released/finished
Hey, thanks for making this game! It's a lot of fun, even more so because it's on the Wii :)
Thanx for playing!
Hey man, what’s your discord? I have a few question I’d like to ask
No discord. You can msg me on twitter @newogame or email me
@@newogame1 I can email, what’s your email
What’s your email
@@newogame1 I sent you an email, did you receive it?
No
This game is lit
Play it on Wii homebrew
@@newogame1 I have it on my Wii Thanks for your work! It reminds me of F-Zero and the music tracks really immerse the player
Thanx for playing!
idk what this is but looks fire
It's a homebrew racing game I made for the Wii.
WOW, that's a cool game!!
It's a game I made for the Wii. You can play it if you have a homebrewed Wii. It's called "NewoZero"
Came from the comment on my wiiblox video. This looks hella impressive!

I was distracted while using the homebrew shop on the Wii and ended up trying this out. So fun and polished!
I wanted to make a simple driving game. glad you like it.
looks good!
this is so trippy, we need more
Random youtube recommendation, but neat!
"There's nobody here"
Like an infinite rainbow road

It's probably n64 or PS1 graphics but either way it works. I still want to put some more stuff in the city.
cool also is your game on the homebrew browser? it seems like a cool game and i want to play!
Yes it's in the homebrew browser and libreshop
Are you able to define the tracks with bezier curves?

What the hell is this?
wii homebrew game
cool art style
keep it up this is cool
