    Isn’t having more insects bad for a garden? Nice video btw

    • @karelsgardening5472
      @karelsgardening5472 4 месяца назад

      Thanks for the feedback! That’s a very good question - there are good and bad insects in the garden - in the sense of bad insects eat up plants, fruits, roots etc. where good insects pollinate your plants, prey on bad insects etc. That said, in my world there aren’t any good and bad, because without those “bad” insects, there wouldn’t be the “good” insects coming in to prey on them. Nature has its way to bring balance to an area, so eventually all will be Harmony, the way nature designed it! Thanks for asking! It allowed me to expand on my thoughts with everyone!! ❤️

    For anything in the mint family, put the cuttings in a jar of water on the window sill. They will grow roots in about a week or so then you can plant in soil.

    Seed saving is awesome, because it allows you to get seeds that are more acclimated to your own garden. Let's say you planted 100 seeds in the ground, only 10 sprouted, and only three survived. And one of them thrived! Save seeds only from that one. Next season, plant 100 of those seeds, and you will notice a much higher germination rate, because they were seeds from the plant that really liked your soil, and your climate, right? Seed saving is so awesome! Great video!

    • @karelsgardening5472
      @karelsgardening5472 Год назад

      Very wise @busker153 saving seeds is awesome, and plants to the contrary of what some may think, are amazingly good at adapting!

    • @busker153
      @busker153 Год назад

      @@karelsgardening5472 God programmed so much information in their DNA that they can, in fact, adapt to almost any conditions. I like to direct seed things and then stun them. Stun them? Yes. Strategic Total Utter Neglect If a plant requires literally no care, how many can you handle growing? As many as you have room for, right? So, I plant as many seeds as possible. I planted maybe fifty apple seeds, and have three growing nicely. They will be amazing root stock for whatever I graft onto them, and who knows, they may produce something awesome themselves, right? I am currently stunning 2 blueberry bushes that are surviving nicely. I'm turning my place into a total food forest. Right here in the middle of the Tucson, AZ desert! The soil was basically dead concrete. They call it coleche (I don't know how that is spelled, properly) (Ko - lee - che). It is harder than a parking lot. Well, I covered it with mulch (yard waste from my wife's yard work business) and after six months, I went to put in a plant, and dug a hole for it with my bare hands, the soil was so well developed. All the microbes really need is some shade, and the water retention a good mulch provides. Now I have it all covered with woodchips. The best mulch available, as they also facilitate amazing water handling capacity. During monsoon rains, my ground, and the woodchips, soak up all the water. None pools or runs off. When it was hot and dry the last couple of months, they release what they had stored. It is really amazing. I'm having a lot of fun in my garden in the desert.
