Hackney Plumbing Shelving Install - Ford Transit 350
Just a quick video to show how I installed my Hackney Shelving in the Ford Transit 350 Tall - Extended Length.
I purchased the van / shelving in November of 2020 and this is essentially how the installation was done.
I used the supplied hardware to set the shelves first after I had finished planning the layout. I cut 4 pieces of PVC (but you could use wood or something else) to use as a template to lift each shelf after the first shelf was set up. I used 7.5" pieces (one in each corner) to hold up the next shelf for the deeper bins and 5.5" pieces of PVC for the shallower bins. This seemed to have worked fine for me. For irregular shaped items I think I just set the item and put a piece o...

Window Tinting with VHT Nite-Shades on Chevy Express Work Van
Просмотров 41711 месяцев назад
I recently got a bit of a beater 2008 Chevy Express 2500 work van. Ideally, it would not have any windows, but since I was getting this work van to be used as a spare/dirty/concrete/dig job type of van I took what I could get. It came with the window guards installed, but anyone walking by could look right in and do some "window shopping". Everyone hates a thief so I wanted to take a moment to ...

This is the one year update to the van up fitting from my last longer video. There have been some changes: 1. Door panels installed: They hold the shovels, broom, gloves, small consumables, and pipe wrenches now. 2. Got rid of the main line machine and stored the Milwaukee M18 drain snake, bought the Kenway Jr with 3 drums for the majority of the drain cleaning I do now. 3. Added two Veto Pro P...

Back in the day, plumbers used to solder everything, which makes it less than ideal for working on and replacing in the future. The technology at the time was a seat and washer that required turning the handle multiple times to get the valve opened or closed. In this short, I cut off the old soldered valve and replaced it with a threaded ball-valve design that will last decades, but when the ti...
Devoted Plumbing Main / Entry Valve Replacement

This was a short video I made of replacing an old seized up entry valve. I replaced the valve with a new ball valve and adapted onto the soft copper with a flared fitting, then used Viega ProPress fittings on the outgoing side. Something I thought some customers would like to see!
A Quick Reminder To Take Off Your Hose

Devoted Plumbing LLC Shop - Brief Tour

I was stocking parts and decided to make a little video of where I keep parts, tools, and that kind of thing. As always, this is a work in progress and just a brief glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes. It's not every day you get to see how a plumbing company operates and what all is involved in making sure I have the parts you need for your plumbing! If you want to see more or a slower ...

Devoted Plumbing LLC dealing with Ruud Gas Valve

During the pandemic and approximately between 2019-2021 Rheem/Richmond/Ruud water heaters were sold with what is called a Delta gas valve. It is a gray gas control valve/thermostat that would operate fine for about a year, then the customer would get no hot water and they would not be able to get the pilot to relight and stay lit. Unfortunately, this is a very common problem. Thankfully, Rheem ...

2020 Ford Transit Tall Rear Door Panel Install for Plumbing Van
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.3 года назад
As usual, when you order something from a manufacturer, they send a single or two page instruction sheet or sometimes even less. Occasionally, they will have an install video, but I didn't really find one for the plumbingvans.com back door panels. I installed some door panels from J&M or plumbingvans.com and documented the process. I installed them on my 2020 Ford Transit 350 with the tall roof...

Hey where did you thise grey bins ?
@grossmanplumbing3397 The bins came from Hackney. They are really top-notch, but expensive. You can find similar bins at Uline, but you could also check Plumbingvans.com or similar. I've compared the Hackney bins to the Uline organizer bins, and I prefer the Hackney style.
The back door, do you build it or it come as a kit brother
@PhongNguyen-gb3mt I got the panels and brackets from Plumbingvans.com. I believe they have some with the brackets already mounted, but I wanted to make mine custom, so I just ordered the parts separately and used rivets and self tapping screws. The orange hangers I got from Amazon and the rubber grabbers, I think are called Quick Fist clamps.
@@PhongNguyen-gb3mt ruclips.net/video/Y2WEHiVj-8I/видео.htmlsi=wDKXA92mkXnd50zw Heres that video
Really nice setup brother!!
Can you help me out finding the pipe rack that you used im trying to buy one and i can’t find it anywhere
@@kevinvergara8245 The little rack holding the pipe wrenches is just a small piece of unistrut with 1.5" brackets and PVC pipe. It's handy for holding my hammer (2" PVC), Crescent Wrenches, and pipe wrenches.
Thanks Kyle !!! Love the Hackney system but it’s a ton of work !! Spring nuts would have been a ton nicer. A RUclips video from the factory as well. Ours had two wrong vertical channel supports & one wrong top shelf sent 🤬but we’ll get it together! Beware of that you future buyers out there!
Can you take a short video of how the actual shelves mount to the vertical frame and also to the floor. Thank you. Just bought this set up and of course No instructions 🤦♂️
Yeah, I'll get a little video posted later today! Thanks!
ruclips.net/video/VjJVR2L8jpA/видео.html Pretty straight forward if you have the correct length of shelves!
Nice truck but the Gerber log splitter is a no no , Koehler all the way!
Does that stuff make noise on bumbs ?
Inside the van it does rattle around, especially on bumps, gravel roads, and train tracks, but I've just grown accustomed to some background noise. It's about the same with other shelving setups that I have had.
Great setup. How much floor width is there between the shelves?
There is 28.5" between the shelves and closer to 32.5" at the floor (between the rack uprights). I know most standard water heaters will fit in that space easily and most toilet boxes will even fit in there as well. Sewer machines have no trouble, even the bulky Milwaukee MX Fuel machine. It's not very often that I have issues with the spacing. Thanks for the question!
Hey bud whats the name of the shelving?
Hackney makes the shelving and bins. You can find it on their website. They have a hamdful of layouts for different vehicles.
Legendary. Where do you get those gray storage containers?
The gray bins were purchased with the shelving from Hackney, but Uline sells something similar called "divider bins". I prefer the Hackney ones though.
Where did you run that inverter to?
The inverter came built in like that.
who is the manufacturer of the gray bins?
Hackney makes these bins, but you can get some from Uline as well
Your set up is nice! What is the brand/model of the adjustable aluminum shelving that you have?
The shelving is made by Hackney
Understand you would like my truck nothing but red
Hubba hubba lol 😆
Very cool. As long as it works for you don't have any regrets over the system. It never ends, you will always be making changes and modifications.
Good job a clean truck is a profitable one. Thank you for your time and energy to show us your set up.
Thanks for the positive words of encouragement! I know the van isn't always the cleanest, but I strive to keep it organized! Hope you get some ideas from this video! Thanks!
Where did you get those wire basket shelves ? Nice set up by the way
Everything was from Uline. They're expensive, plus freight is expensive, but I believe in the "buy once, cry once" philosophy. They'll last a long time if treated right.
Looks very well organized and fully stocked!
It's getting there. Always more bins to label, parts to sort, etc. I appreciate you taking a moment to watch and comment! Thanks!
Your truck is a mess
Yeah, I was in the process of cleaning out the van. It is definitely a work van that gets used regularly, so keeping it super organized is always a chore. This video was just to kind of highlight how I organize my packout stack for water heater replacements. I didn't really plan on showcasing the van, so it definitely needed some TLC
Nice better check out STV racking they make shelving for pack out on you tube just order to shelves can’t wait 14 slides
No disrespect it takes time to grow your business I’m a big fan of the Milwaukee pack out and I’m sure you’re doing just fine in a few years you’ll upgrade to a bigger truck and you’ll like it I have a Chevy 1 ton with 12 foot de Dejana body and it’s a load with pack out
ruclips.net/video/t6L262gKOCg/видео.html Is the link to the bigger van layout. Its always changing.
Yes it’s to messy an too small
Yeah, my first van was a lot smaller and came with most of the shelving. I was just starting out, so I was on an extremely tight budget, but as the company grew and I was able to save a little bit I could afford this bigger, nicer van and shelving. We all start somewhere and hopefully with hard work, quality service, and treating people right we can grow and make life easier.
Great video big guy! Lots of good information!
It took me entirely too long to realize who "Alex Richardson" is. 🤣😂
@@devotedplumbingllc6807 it's an alias 🤣
The valve all way bad I have the same 1 1/2 Years
Yep. It's a known failure. I don't know why they haven't issued some kind of recall or at least a notice to the public. Really unfortunate, but hopefully you get it all sorted out!
Nice upgrade. If I were you, I'd offer higher end garbage disposals instead of having four Badger 5s. I upsell Pro 750s more often than I sell Badger 5s. Good way to make some extra money.
Its always changing. I keep the 5s in the van, one corded, one for hard wiring, then I have a 3/4 HP model or just suggest a homeowner supplied option! Thanks so much for the comments!
This is a real plumber's van here.
Thanks! I moved up to a tall 350, extended length!
I commented on another video of yours saying the van set-up seemed too disorganized. This van set-up seems much better.

It seems too disorganized to me. I wonder how you find or know what you have.
Nice van but you need a bigger truck 3500 derives
I swapped out for a Ford T350, tall, extended length. 👍
1/2" x 6" nipple on the inlet works good to remove control valve too especially the plastic Honeywell. Good video and good repair!
Shark bites must be a shit plumber
Nice setup. I’m contemplating buying one, but not sure it’s spacious enough for a full service remodeling setup.
I'd go bigger. I didn't keep this small van for more than a year.
Press queen
Press King! 🤣
Slow the dam camera down
😂😂 It is hard to slow down. Click on the play speed and see if you can slow it down that way. I'll do better!
Nice set up. What where you rockin before the Transit?
Before this Transit, I had another Transit. It was a 250, short wheel base, low roof. It was way too small for me though. I made a video of it here: ruclips.net/video/jgfLrQdCyFY/видео.html Before that, I worked at a bigger plumbing company before starting my own. We drove the Isuzu NPR box trucks, but I have also driven the Dodge Sprinter and Ford Econoline van. I don't have any real experience with the Chevy Express, the Nissian NV vans, or just a pick-up with a KUV box as far as organization goes.
How did you mount your pipe to the roof?
Originally, I used nutzerts/rivetnuts and mounted them using a pipe clevis, but the weight/bouncing was too much for it. I plan to get some thin unistrut and install more rivetnuts with some all thread and try again with a lot more support. Eventually. When the price of unistrut comes down and I can actually find it in stock 🤣
