that was just auto settings, so that’s probably why it looks weird

i like it because i’d use different simulations for different scenes, especially since i probably don’t plan on editing raw photos with my xm5. i also like it more than having it on the lens or something

I don't use a gimbal much so I haven't tested that out, but I definitely will soon. But essentially because lidar doesn't rely on "seeing" the subject but rather using the "laser", it actually tracks really well in low light, at least from my use case with handheld, so I assume it should be pretty similar with a gimbal. Definitely will try it out though!

@@herokme Thanks! If ActiveTrack actually uses LiDAR, it could track a subject in complete darkness because it's finding the subject by the autofocus distance readings, not by light or contrast, etc. If you don't use the Gimbal, why are you doing videos about it. Confusing...

@@myerssamuel1057 not sure what you mean by why am i doing videos about it. i use the lidar on my handheld rigs to give my cine lenses autofocus. there are more ways to use it than just using it with a gimbal

they’re m3 screws! if you’re looking for the ones that go into the gooseneck, i believe they’re 6mm. i used 8mm for my diy method when including the washers

@ yes I own an xt3 and a bunch of lenses. But i wouldn t mount a 70-300 on an xm5 body, but a pancake. A stabilized body would have been better.

yep, it’s the corrector node. if your clip was filmed in 24fps, then you’ll need to export it in 30fps. i always shoot 30fps or above and export in 30fps for that reason

@Stories_with_Swagat yes i’m sure. i took about 350 photos that day with it, every single one was sharp. of course, that doesn’t mean it’s perfect, but from my initial tests, it was great’

there’s no ibis in the body, and no stabilization in the lens. if you want to do video with it, you’d probably want a lens that has stabilization in it for smoother shots. i chose the 33 1.4 for this video since i mostly wanted to test out the photo capabilities, hence a little shaky footage

it’s definitely a super value price with a lot of high end features. my main drawbacks from my testing so far is the camera may be a little too small for a lot of people (you can probably add grip extenders or cages when they come out for it), no viewfinder, no dual card slot (this is a deal breaker for me if i’m doing professional work, but i don’t mind one card slot for an everyday camera)

i was using the fujifilm 33mm f1.4!

i think the flip screen is just the most flexible. not the best of both, but at least you can still flip out. but you’re right, it would be cool if they did a tilt/flip screen like sony has done on their newer cameras. the xm5 does seem more video focused like you said, with the 6.2k open gate and flip screen. thanks for the support! 🙏🏻🔥

if you're getting jerky movements, it almost sounds like the motor isnt gripping the gear ring properly. i would make sure that its lined up properly first. you could also try lowering the motor torque to see if that would help. if you're filming with two people, unless both people are always at the same depth as each other, then only one of them will be focus at a time. i would probably just leave it on wide mode and let it choose someones face to track, or make sure both people are at the same depth at all times. or have one of the people lock targets with the lidar on the other person before you start filming. hope that helps!
