Mi dispiace ma le opere vogliono cantate in lingua originale. E non intendo solo quelle italiane....TUTTE. La musica è stata composta per sposarsi con i suoni delle parole del libretto originale. Inoltre, di solito, le traduzioni stravolgono il vero senso.

What a lot of rubbish

I usually hate regieoper and complain about it, but this one works for me! It's accessable, it has its own consistent logic, it doesn't have regieoper cliches such as prostitutes and military uniforms, it doesn't promote stupid politics, it doesn't contradict the music, and it perfectly fits the weirdness and silliness of the Magic Flute.

Really horrible work by the director. He/she has no knowledge of what Gilbert intended. There was no need to change the libretto or add "humour."

I love the way "Sorrow" is so fidgety. He behaves just like a child should/would.

It should be said that unlike every other opera production on video, where opera is presumed to be a video game, THIS production doesn't have extreme close-ups. I am so thrilled to pretend that I am an audience member of a stage production. So, the cameraman/woman is to be congratulated too.

Good performance, but please, lose the parrot affectations from Samuel. Gilbert and Sullivan wrote this with quite a bit of humor already, it doesn’t need the silly antics this type.
