...unless their name also happens to be Kurt Williams. Seems like you're just asking for trouble. :)
Thanks for the video dude, if you could release weekly videos that be awesome. 🖖🏼
I haven't been to Dave's in forever, and uh....it still looks exactly how I remember it. Bunjee's is cool, and Bill is very nice, but Griffin is...gross to say the least. Book Nook had a location in Riverdale that I used to go to, but that was a long, long time ago. The comics were a train wreck. Origin Story in McDonough is nowhere near me, but I've made a few trips out there. Hour and a half drive but totally worth it.
Oh lawd that pronunciation of LaGrange. 😩 Buddy's is a cool shop! Tiny, and in the absolute worst part of LaGrange, but cool. Cutz and Comics has SUPER nice owners. I'll check it out again. I liked that they had all those indie books, even if they weren't what I'm into. Superheroes - Oy...I haven't been in there in YEARS. Had you made this video before the change in ownership, it would have been straight ones. That place was an absolute dumpster when it was over by Big Lots. That pinball arcade is owned by a local lawyer and it is AWESOME. The change in ownership really seems to have improved the place. Preeeeeetty sure Dave from Dave's Comics in Fayetteville is at least part owner now. I haven't been here in forever either. Too blasted far away now. Given where I live, I'm looking forward to the Alabama tour. It's easier for me to get to Auburn than it is Atlanta. Hell, it's easier to get to Montgomery than it is Atlanta and it's more than twice the distance. 😭
I missed the whole Red Hulk thing. I did read some of the early Serpent Society shenanigans, which was fun. Thanks for the list!
Big fan of this video. If you have the time you should do this for as many new superhero movies as you can. Could be a great way for people to get engaged with the channel and read new comics
Kurt what are your thoughts on the new Spiderman animation?
🤷♂️ it’s for kids, right?
@@KurtWilliamsReviews I thought it was but that wasn’t the case at all! It was better than I expected. Aside from the clunky animation I think the first two episodes were fun
Can we get a video of you showing your long/ short boxs!!?? Plz plz plz
As a new reader without much knowledge of sam wilson or red hulk, This is exactly what I was looking for, Thanks!
Why do u stand side-on in every video
Because from straight-on I look like a crocodile
I've got a good idea for an x men comic where Charles and Eric swap idealogis,in this version magneto gradually keeps becoming more violent and launching attacks on humans,in the process he accidentally kills his son which causes him to reconsider where his hatred has gotten him,he eventually decides to try and redeem himself and join the x men, with magneto no longer a threat Charles decides to work on establishing world peace,he holds a peace summit but a suddenly a bomb goes off and nearly kills him,he manages to survive but some of the x men die in the process, afterwards he decides that while he still wants world peace he is now going to try and locate every human who could potentially be a threat and eliminated them to stop the same situation from happening again.
Thanks for this dude!! I had a handful of the 90's comics when I was a pre-teen, and have a few of the better Wolverine TPB's - but was overwhelmed with which X-Men titles to go for.
I love this series of videos. Galactic Quest is my home store(s) and I forget sometimes how fortunate and spoiled I am. I love those guys. I spent many hours in that back issue dungeon at Bizarro Wuxtry when I was in school at UGA. One shop to check out when you get a minute if you haven’t yet is Nerd U in Commerce. It is new-ish and has a great vibe. Their CEO is a cat named Dex.
The only rating I disagree with is Urban Pops community involvement score. Chris the owner host 2 separate comic/toy shows a year. And they’re moving to a bigger space. Syndicate is my LCS and they’re awesome. The toys aren’t part of Syndicate tho. They’re owned by separate guys who overprice everything
Dude, Daredevil is the best.
Infinite Realities is my local comic shop, and ESPECIALLY because of their quarter bins. I go straight to em and never look back. Most recent trip I found about 3/4 of a comic run I was looking for. The staff are sweet too. One time when I brought up a huge stack from the quarter bins, one lady, who I believe is one of the owners, was just like "Hm. I'll just call this 10". One of those life changing comic book shop moments, even if small. I also quite like Dr. No's!! I found signed Will Eisner's The Spirit once there, and that is to this day one of the best things I've had the chance to add to my collection. Very nice staff too, I've had some good conversations! They're in the same shopping center as 2nd Chance Toys & Collectibles, which has a really crazy selection of collectibles and vintage toys as well. Definitely give them a look some time if you haven't already!
I literally disagreed with everything you said lol. It’s all good though.
Great video! Based on your recommendations, I visited 4 of these shops. Oxford Comics - Well organized and professional but really caters to recent books. Very few options for books prior to 2000. Book Nook - Dirty and junky; lots of comics but everything is haphazard, unorganized, and filthy. Not really worth digging for "gold" here. Great Escape - Small shop but very well organized. Mostly newer books but some good older issues from the Bronze and Silver ages as well. Those boxes are packed tight, though! lol Syndicate Comics - Located in an antique mall but they have a great selection of all types of comics. Well organized, clean, with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They really know their stuff!
Thank you for doing this review! I don't know if I would've picked it up without it, I really hope it gets picked up as a full series, it's a banger :)
My man deserves more subs
I would probably read a dictionary before anything from Vita Ayala
Why tho?
@ So I would at least learn some new words.
Why black characters?
Id rather buy Ultimate Wolverine. 😂
I’m not buying anything vita.. she ruined the new mutants..
So Dora the Explorer but grown up. Muy bien 👌🏽
Forgot the Mountain Man Comics in Blue Ridge GA
I got it, it's a great book.
Fun video as always.
A batch of Benin bronzes that Germany handed *back* to Nigeria, recently vanished into private owners’ collections instead of being exhibited in the Nigerian museum as promised. That actually happened, right before Bronze Faces is set to release, 😂😅😢
It sounds a lot like Carmen Sandiego, at least the modern animated one.
I heard them talk about it on the Ideas Don't Bleed podcast. Will definitely give it a buy!
Should have give him an adamantium arm
This Wolverine suit looks like Deadpool. Adds nothing new to the character
Great Escape 👍🏻
Hey Kurt ! ICYMI Lange's in Muskegon Michigan will be opening in a new location in the same mall in March and is estimated to be the 2nd largest comic / nerd store in the world (behind Mile High) And renewing my offer to send you some $$$ if / when you do Indiana
There would be more back issues in one of these stores than every store in Australia combined. I felt sick with jealousy watching this. Great video by the way.
Haven't picked this title up. Guess I didn't miss much, lol! The price point of modern comics is a shocker. When I first started buying comics as a kid, they were 35 cents. I almost wish they'd go back to cheap newspaper and dot printing.
The next one should be "Every comic shop in the world".
Imma need a better computer for editing that one
I didn't like the art style in Ultimate Wolverine at all. The story didn't bother me as a setup for future stories, though. I had the same problem with Moon Knight over the last couple of years.
Wow you really hated this 😂 I had fun with it but would agree it should’ve been a 4-5$ comic. Especially with how quick of a read it is. Hard to say much until we’ve seen a couple more issues but this is exactly the type of book people who hate UXM seem to want. No slow burn character development or new characters here everything cut and dry and action packed. Obviously a book like this relies heavily on the art since there’s not much script so if you hate the artist there’s no chance you’ll like it. Enjoyed this review because everyone loves this so much and it was just ok for me. I’d give it like 7 out of 10 but I liked the art so there you go.
Visions is the best; the team is great!!! Thanks for spotlighting them! Cheers on this series. I really enjoyed it.
I liked it, but I’m also not as steeped in Wolverine as you I guess. I’ve been following the other four Ultimate titles and I think this is a fun twist on the rest of the X-Men not being covered by the Ultimate X-Men series. At least it has some action and flashbacks to explain where this guy came from unlike every other Ultimate book that’s slowly doling out like molasses. The story may not have had much in it but I can see it going somewhere interesting. And Colossus being evil in the Ultimate Universe makes about as much sense as Hulk being evil or Howard Stark unknowingly being a part of the Maker’s council for decades. Whatever the Maker did, he manipulated these heroes into being villains. If you can’t get on board with that then I don’t know how you’ve made it this far with the Ultimate line.
I didn't look at the price till I got home. In the shop I thought it was 4.99 which, in my book, is pushing it. Marvel knew this would be a nerd- magnet. But what the hell. It's a fun issue. I'm in for the long haul.
All marvel issue #1s are 5.99
Love your channel man. You remind me off Barney Stinson from how I met your mother. Peace ✌️
I was hoping for this, thank you so much Kurt! And I love your my local comic book stores, Newbury Comics, shirt.
The only nit pick I have for this issue of Ultimate Wolverine is that they censored the word SHIT in two panels. Why 😳🙄😒 with all the violence there is in this issue & that’s what they’re worried about. It’s Rated T+ 🤦🏻♂️
Hey Kurt I think you should do Kansas city, Missouri or Kansas city, Kansas next for going to every comic shop videos. It would be so cool.
Yeah my first time reading BONE was in my elementary school (3rd grade) in which definitely I would like for them to adapt it in a film to show the unique and vast world of Bone using some of the parks location to recreate scenes of the Comic Book 😁
Gr8 shouting out the local comic shops!
Dr. No's back issue prices are insane. I walked in and walked out.
