Contemporary dance and experimental cinema are always site specific. Filming dancers in the landscape brings the theater outside, making the stage a realm of multi-dimensionality. Here, industrial salt piles were scouted as unique and dramatic urban mountains to explore choreographically. As a freshly-piled landscape, each cone shares the same slope. The temporality of salt-as-material is embraced, for it is an expression of the power of movement upon a landscape. It is a canvas where, through dance, a new space is made.
