Jerry was just a little darling in this. I kept thinking throughout the movie, Dean should be with him but brilliant Jerry did it by himself! I'll love him forever!
I knew the guy that played "monk", the first guy in this clip, has the James Dean look. He told me jerry used to give him clothes when he first got to Hollywood, the sport coats jerry gave him had jerrys name tag sewed into them. He used to come by my place and borrow my Delicate Delinquent video tape, he enjoyed watching himself in the film.
@@TS-qq7vr In this movie Darren McGavin was the cop.In "West Side Story";Simon Oakland is a detective. Both actors would play together in "Night Stalker".
Excellent movie. just watched it the other day with my kids. They loved it, this is a true classic !! I love this Intro, was looking for it - to hear those congas again - beautiful Intro (can't say that enough). Was reading Niel Simons rewrites and he mentioned working with him (Jerry Luis) that's all it took to have me looking for all of Jerry Luis movies. This is on the top of my list.
Fun Fact : The hood in the leather jacket pulls out a pair of brass knuckles, but when Jerry crashes through the door he is holding a crow bar and the brass knuckles are gone.
Amazing intro.
Ah, the first movie Jerry made without Dino.

One of the best intros of any movie ever ! P.S. My dad in the white T shirt ! 🤣 👍
Awesome!!
love how the drama builds up.........then jerry emptys his rubbish an scatters the lot bwahahahaha 😆
Great into and music to a great Jerry Lewis movie! Many laughs and serious moments.
...and all these guys now adays are inter city black thugs..Robert at 67.
And this was just the intro... 👏👏👏👏👏
Saw this movie in a theater as a kid
I like the look Darren McGavin shoots the other cops as he loads Jerry into the Paddy Wagon. "Get a load of THIS one."
This was infinitely better remixed with Link Wray's "Rumble", also from 1958. ruclips.net/video/BuAD_sQUgpw/видео.html
Great jazz score. Very much like Henry Mancini’s music for the intro of Touch of Evil.
Delinquent. But anyway, love the funny faces Jerry Lewis made in this and other movies.
Nossa achei um filme muito legal só que é bem antigo gostei da música

Cool story. Thanks for sharing those tidbits.
I saw this film yesterday. This is the best part of it!
Awesome part
Is that the original music? It seems West Side Story copied elements of this in their famous intro.
Nay. The Broadway musical was running at about the same time. I doubt Leonard Bernstein copied this.
We all know Andrew Lloyd Weber blatantly ripped off Pink Floyd for the main theme to The Phantom of the Opera.
It's an example of the "crime jazz" that was pretty common in 1950s and 60s noir and juvenile delinquent movies.
It reminds me West Side Story.
My 1st impression. West Side Story must've copied this style.

@@TS-qq7vr The original Broadway production of West Side Story was in 1957, same year as The Delicate Delinquent movie was made.
Jerry Lewis is a pendejo lol
The intro soundtrack was better with link wray

If you pause it at 2:27, you'll see he still has the brass knuckles on his left hand and the small crow bar in his right
One of the best openings. Such style. Thanks for posting
