20km run with the GU gels and chews
Trying out the GU gel and chew products to see if they work well or not. I think they work very well and taste good too. I usually get pretty tired after the 20km run, but I wasn't tired and so much energy left.
8 chews before run.
A pack of gel every 45mins + water.

This was my first attempt to run 30km, from Nelson to Richmond and back to Nelson. I made it home, but it was very hard after 25km.
Running in the rain and tried the GU for the first time

It's nice to run on a sunny day but running in the rain is pretty refreshing in the summer. I also tried the GU gel and chews for the first time.

I started the new year with running first thing in the morning in recent years. It was cloudy this time, and I couldn't see the first sunrise of the year, but I had a good run on empty roads. Have a great year!

I think I have Target Panic
Просмотров 10710 месяцев назад
I was experiencing target panic due to difficulty shooting accurately with a grip on my new Mathews Phase 4 compound bow. After watching video clips of myself shooting, I found out what I was doing wrong and now it's time to fix it.

@leehotspur9679 Thanks. That will be a good challenge. I will try it with the open sight or maybe a red dot sight.
@@iminwopwopsland671 No reason you could not hit the target with some training and practice Good on yer mate
They’re decent. I may find something different to compare it with.
Thinking of picking one up myself.
@chrisbuckley8148 so much easier to shoot accurately after putting the grip on.
@@iminwopwopsland671 I have Lift 29.5. It’s not bad but could be be more stable in hand.
@chrisbuckley8148 Just changing a grip makes a big difference.
Thank you.
Yes boys , awesome mission together . Cool edit buddy, great watch
I know two things that I focused on right away was getting a low wrist to take out any muscle tension in the wrist and forearm. Then I also immediately removed the factory mathews grip and taped it up. That might help you relax your grip.
Thanks for your advice. I have changed the grip and am shooting much better now. Yes, that factory grip was pretty bad. I think I lost my confidence by it, and that caused target panic. My confidence is coming back now.
Doesn't have to be ... Although when it xomes ti compound bows it can be pricey if your geting name brand gear. But screw the name brands!!! Hell there isn't much difference in midline priced and even some xheap arrows and the real expensive ones - they don't even yse the same standards for xrying out loud!!! For damaged arrows I have bought extra nocks cheap from Wish, cut the split end off if need be and also used super glue to fix stuff that not that bad. Of course if it's real bad get rid of it ... Not worth it blowing up in your face! My last video I show off a 5 arrow bow quiver I just got from Wish for $9.98 including shipping ... Hell if I would spend $50, $75, $100, or more for a bow quiver!!! That is expensive ... Or you can go cheap like I did and get on on sale from Wish for $10. I have two other quivers of the same brand that I got both were on sale for between $10-$14 !!! And I'm happy with all of them. ( I did get a 6 arrow quiver and it turned out to be a POS. So don't get that from Wish if you shop on there ) I don't own a Recurve Bow that's over $120 and they all except one shoot great. 1 bad apple oit of 9 isn't bad for bows that for the most part cost on average of about $75! Could I buy an expensive exotic recurve for $1,200??? Sure, but I didn't because my best shooting bow is a Sinoart Falcon that only cost me $96. And for arrows I get Accmos, or Sharrow brand vanes are about $26 per dozen and feather fletched about $36 per dozen ... Not that expensive if I destroy an arrow and can't fix it every now and then. I think archery is only as expensive as you want it to be ... There are some good choices out there that aren't too hard on the wallet ... That's been my experience and worthless two cents ... Anyway God bless ya brother and keep having fun!
Great job and congratulations on building a compound string. I never made one, cause I only shoot recurves and longbows ... I would think that's a lot harder to do. Anyway good luck with it & God bless ya!
Try the total peep tech grip for mathews. It helped me alot.
Good job buddy i also make strings with braided fishing line. My string is more than 7 years and no problems. I want to make a string for my home made Recurve take down bow 62 inch bow. How long will i make the string? I made the other strings for Longbow.
Take out the nock, rub a little bit of oil on it, put it back. Pour some super glue into the shattered carbon fibers and use tape, the one electricians use, wrap that tight few times to compress the fibers back. Let that dry. Unwrap the tape, clean it as you would clean the fletchings with a razor blade or something. Than use some nylon thread, something thin, wrap about 1 cm tight and nice up to the end of the shaft, secure it with a bit of CA and then you can use epoxy to cover it, or more CA. Epoxy is better. And is good to go. Or you can just throw the entire shaft. Also, i am not a compound bow shoter. But you can use aluminium pins for nocks, and nocks wich go into the pins. So if you robin hood the arrow, you will destroy the nock, but not the shaft as the pins will deflect the tip of the arrow. And most likely will bend the pin too, but those are cheap compared to a good carbon shaft.
Thank you for your advice. 👍
great rifle and badass shooting I will be watching for more videos🤠
Thank you.
Excelente video es cañon varmint?
Good job on your string and I absolutely think it's better than regular bowstring material. I make all my own bow strings from braided fishing line and it works great! I myself use a stronger line thought. I make my endless loop strings 10 - 12 strands but use 90 and sometimes 100 lb test. Even B55 bowstring material is rated at 45lbs (and it gives more than D97 and Dyneema which is actually the same material as braided fishing line, or fast flight strings) so I would be a little cautious about using only 20 Lb line. Especially if your using a bow that's over 40lbs. That's just my humble opinion. I like my strings to be much more than normal bow strength and still not have more than 12 or 14 strands per string. Anyway, good job and God bless ya!
Thank you for your tips. I'm a bit worried about the 20lb line now. I will make it again with braided lines with higher poundage.
@@iminwopwopsland671 You may be just a little weak with that string and for as cheap as you can make one ... I always do overkill. As a rule of thumb you should take the weight of the bow and multiply by 5 to get the tensile strength you need for a strong that will be more than strong enough. So for example if I'm making a string for a 45lb Bow the sting strands need to add up to 45x5= 225lbs. So I want the weakest part to be over that ...I typically use 90 lb braided fishing line and make 5 rotations to have a 10 strand string. So 5x90= 450lbs at the weakest point which are the nocks and that's more than strong enough. Now of course doubled over my 10 strand string = 900lbs of tensile strength and that's 4x's stronger than my string needs to be. So that's how I figure it out to be extra safe Of course any string can break. Lucky so far I have been making strings for 3 years and never had one break. I have 14 Bows and have made my strings for every one.that way. I have a string on my Falcon recurve bow that has over 18,000 shots on it (and yes I have been counting - because I want to see how long it will last ... First sign of it looking bad I will change the string before it breaks ) and it looks just as good as the day I made it. Anyway I think better to over build it than to under build a string that can really hurt you if it snaps ... Just make sure you check your limbs too for any signs of cracks or breaking. And make sure you have reinforced tips for fast flight strings which is essentially what your making. Most bows are these days. Hope this helps & God bless!
@@joedaniels4646 Awesome information. Thank you.
8months after review, how are the boots going for you?
Still holding well and the best gripping sole I ever had, especially good on muddy ground. One complaint I have is that they don't come in half sizes. I have to put extra inner sole to fit better.
any update on how they last so far? I'm thinking of buying the same boots..
I haven't been out in the bush lately. Maybe I have walked with these boots on for about 60km. It is still holding well and comfortable. No issue at a moment. It is very quiet to walk and that sole grips really well on many different surfaces. I will be wearing the boots more often soon to see how long it will last.
thanks mate, I went @@iminwopwopsland671 thanks mate, I'm sure they last quite long. I went for the Lima boots as I'm just into tramping...
Did you wear socks with them? Try wearing merino wool socks inside, that will help with moisture and friction.
I do wear just ordinary running socks and often no socks in summer. My foot is tougher than used to be and don't have any friction problem.
Is the co- witness on tgis needed? Or if I have a peepsight on MY bow, I do not have to use it that comes with the range finder?
You don't need to use it. It helps pinpoint the rangefinder better. I like it on because it reassure ranging the target.
Good shooting, thats some pretty land what state was this? What is the name of that cube target?
Thanks. It is in Nelson, New Zealand. The target is Rinehart 18-1 Cube Target.
They don't look like they would last long maybe a year?
Hope it will last longer than a year. I have been walking in creeks and deep mud, and performing well and comfortable so far. Dry feet and awesome grip on different surfaces. I will find out how long it will last.

Love my minimalist barefoot shoes. We have an epidemic of weak feet and bad posture because of over-cushioned but restrictive "support" in modern shoes...
I love it too and I have few pairs now. My feet and legs are a lot stronger than used to be.
Give your body time to adjust it will be worth it
