👍!
Your girlfriend has some nice legs I know you're gonna have some good sex in that tent
Chevy express 4x4 always everywhere every time
I had the same issue with the middle assembly fitment but mine was on the drives side. The passages side went in just fine. I also had to oblong the holes on the middle backbone bracket so that the bolts would line up. How has everything held up so far?
I really want to try this trail in my 2022 Frontier Pro 4X, do you think it’s capable?
Would you happen to know a safe route if I’m making the drive this weekend
I'm planning a trip from Wisconsin to California in a few weeks. Driving in my car any traveling tips and tricks. Ex: making sure I dint get lost. Did you run into any roads closed during the time?
Literally one of the worst install videos I've seen in my life. Mounts the braces and brackets then ends video without mounting the actual rack.
7:02 we really wouldntve minded if you talked about the van while sitting in it, so we can hear
fuckin arifjan
Great video. Liked 👍 This shows what the 4x4 low roof can achieve. But heard the Mercedes is ending the 4x4 unfortunately with low range and is going to a AWD system? Have you heard or seen what that will be like?
Are your dogs still with you?
Dude I did not see any major rock climbing my Chevy Silverado two-wheel drive can climb up that hill
Photos cannot show how tough this road can be! Your words show that you have not been there or tried that.
Ummm, no! It cannot
yeah im trying to learn as much as i can on this stuff gmrs repeaters at least im an rn so first aid i should have covered learning to read topomaps i got long ways to go and i need how to fix my car basic shit incase it happens
In Echo canyon at the waterfalls were you guys in 4 low? didn't look liked it. Planning on this sam trip Dec 2022 from WA. st.
The Jeeps were not but the FJ was, and the 4Runner was only 2WD.
Do you think 4x4 was absolute necessity for Imogene Pass? High Clearance and AT tires are definitely necessary, but would RWD van can do it?
No
This is awesome. I work for a company that builds custom sprinters and the first thing people always want is a suspension upgrade and bigger wheels and tires. Yeah it looks great but this video proves it’s not the most practical thing for 95% of our clients.
What company do you work for good sir? We are building our van to complete the Pan-American Highway, 40,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina, and film a documentary along the way. We are glad you enjoyed the video!
Very cool, thanks for the great review!
the tunnel that appeared in a picture would have been problematic for a high roof Sprinter
Thanks so much for the video. I really enjoyed watching spotter/ driver communicatons, photography, and the music, too. Looked like an awesome trip!
Glad you enjoyed the video! We’ve got more trips planned next year to include Alaska, the Yukon, and the NW Territories.
Ferrari vs ram pick up. ???????
We have a Dodge Ram pickup and we use it to tow a trailer with old 1942 jeep on it. We would not want to waste it going over jeep roads like Imogine. Too long of a wheel base. Too much twisting. Too high and tippy especially with our tent camper on it which makes it possible for us to go to all these Colorado Jeep roads.
Awesome stuff. I hope to see another event come up on the West Coast so I can join my fellow Skult members!
I'm also leaving California and moving to Wisconsin. Any good locations that you recommend me visiting while I'm on the road trip?
Thanks gays for sharing, good experience!!!
Uppsss!!! Sorry "guys"...
We use the IVECO 4x4 as a base 5000lb payload ruclips.net/video/4T6NHiLgJcg/видео.html
Fortunately, the Germans didn’t have these wheels yet when they invaded Russia !
Very fortunate indeed! Excited to upgrade our wheels and tires soon
Nice job yeah I would of put a few hundred pounds of sand bags in the back to keep down.
It’s like a little mountain goat, lol. If you’re gonna keep it, might I suggest you put a pop top on it. Like on a VW camper van. If you then just use this he top to sleep in you’ll have shed loads of space for other things. Just an idea......
I would love to take my jeep on the dunes like that, looks like great fun! Cool dogs, they seem to be having the time of their lives, lol. Great video!
The pups love exploring and camping! Thank you for the support!
Where is that around 5:12? Headed to bad water this weekend.
So a high roof wouldn't make it? What was that tunnels height?
much too hesitant on the gas, the electronics could not regulate at all
Thank you for another great video! Are you using the snow tires MB offers as an option on new Sprinters or just the fully stock tires? Again, thanks for the great video!
Stock tires on the 2019 MB Sprinter 4x4, but excited to upgrade to all terrains
did you use dsr for going down the hill?
My van does not have DSR. I do not know if it is offered on the cargo vans, but perhaps only on the passenger and crew vans.
if you have low range, you also should have dsr. check your fin!
SK Podcast representing. Looked like a cool trip.
Great terrain throughout
👀👀❤️👍🏽
Awesome trip, something my son and I could never do, BUT SOOO HAPPY Jon, my other Son did! JUAN said the best part of the video was breakfast of eggs bacon and potatoes wrapped in tortillas!! As for me it Was Seeing how scary it would be to actually be there, so it was better seeing it through the eyes of the camera. You ROCK says Jon's little brother Juan!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very cool. Glad everyone had a good time and came out whole.
I've done Imogene a couple times in my 4x4 tundra with fourwheelcamper on it. Fun. I just put $$$ down on a MB 2500 4x4 sprinter van conversion. You just made me feel more confident about places I want to go with it. Great review and thanks.
Glad to affirm your van build decision!
Looks like an awesome trip Jon. And the video content and editing has improved significantly. Keep it up man!
Wow...amazing scenes from the Grand Canyon to snow in Colorado to Three Lakes ! That's a great trip. I'm in to see what you guys do in 2021. I supersub'd which means if I can click it I did ! Look at what we are doing sometime.
Gladly! I’ll check you guys out. Do you have an Instagram account that matches your RUclips handle?
@@roughroadsoverland5048 I don't have an Instagram but really need to get one. Thanks for checking us out !
BEYOND impressive. You need to change the title to Sprinter Van doing Imogene Pass. I did this last year in a stock Jeep. Ever since that time, I have been searching for a video of someone doing what you have just done! Mercedes needs to give you a van for illustrating just how capable this van is and can be!
from stock it only has a central lock differential. I dig your advise about tyres, suspension, and offset but what about front/rear differential axle locks - would you advise that? I would also add a snorkel mainly for dust, breathers and a few other goodies :-)
@@alexanderdekeuyper2990 Tnx for the advice. Indeed I have been looking at IVECO daily 4x4 but the forums report several designer faults. Also for international overlanding IVECO service/parts maybe more of a problem than sprinter ones.
@@alexanderdekeuyper2990 Tnx, no interest in going bigger (the sprinter/daily are big enough). However I’m intrigued by what you say of the two IVECO versions. I’m based in Europe (France) and didn’t know about the 2 versions. Is there some way of telling them apart? Or is one version going to some markets and not to others. Tnx
188 Hp 😂
Do you partially deflate the tires to drive off road?
Yes sir! Deflated to 20 PSI for this trip with great success for the stock tires
Yes especially in places like Moab with my son's new Rubicon Gladiator. We did it last time over engineer, pass in old 1942 jeep and it was so much less bumpy than when we did it without air down tires. My youngest son is Jeep Tour guide in Moab at Outlaw Adventures and he will not go on the trail without airing down. He has a special tool that let's you being the air down to the desired pressure easily by screwing it into the interlude air outlet.
Hey Jon, thanks for the excellent video. What are the dimensions of the pioneer platform, that fit the JL Wrangler the best?
Do you think having off road tires alone would've alleviated the issues you ran into?
Nice vid! do you think a 170 high roof 4x4 could have done it?
Hell to the no.
Was wondering about the clearance for the roof on that “Tunnel” section. Turning radius, break over and departure differences to our 179’s is a handicap. I’m not sure I’ll take my 170 4x4 on ANY shelf roads. Pucker factor 11! Looking forward to seeing where this van goes after mods and additional weight is added. Especially if he puts a pop top on it.
How about 144 HR?
Answering my own question: probably not, if the short roof was too tippy then the HR would amplify that effect even more
Pretty good vid! What did you pair this RR Backbone set up to? The 2 or 3 VORTEX cross bars or the Pioneer flat rack?
The pioneer platform
Great review. Guess its a van for light trails snowy path etc. surely ain’t for offroading. Best van in the market. Had 1 and did 600.000 km europe
Not rock crawling surely, but certainly can hold it's own on the trails!
