    I like many of the features and may even get one. My guess is the payback here in MN is going to be more like 10 years. I can do better than that with an IRA. My gas bill is $700 a year. Maybe a 1/3 of that is hot water. It wouldn’t save anything in gas usage over running water down the drain. The only thing it saves is water. There might be some savings with the dishwasher getting gas heated water over it’s internal electric element. Operating costs would be minimal. A pump that is triggered on by the temperature on an insulated return line wouldn’t cost that much more to run if on a timer.

    Needs to practice his elevator pitch. Man, way too much talking especially at a trade show. I’ve been researching systems as I have an issue with kitchen faucet far from tank. Not sure if I like this system as pump is on living floor risk of leaking and there will be a motor/pump noise.

      Pump noise would be short. Watts pump at HWH may be a better fit for you.

    Nope. Stop messing with the fittings; no snaps. People are idiots, whereas solid gas piping required a steady arm/wrenches and basic math and geometry. The snap connections shown here are just asking for trouble, so keep it modular and needing a wrench. The manifold can be used with NPT black pipe, better one manifold per floor with black pipe risers. Flex from there.

    This looks like a well designed system and very simplified to operate. Building codes should make this mandatory on all new construction or anything built in the last 10 years. Video is very informative you take enough time to help people without the knowledge to understand what this does.

    My house has a recirculation line. There are motion sensors in the house which start tge pump fir about 2 minutes when there is motion and then shuts off. There is a flow sensor as well to detect when something like a washing machine and dishwasher is needing hot water (since the appliances do not move to activate the pump). So I'm not running 24/7. Not sure something like this would save me anything

    A return line with a check valve will do the same thing without a pump.

    Do I need a one-way check valve on the cold water line coming into the house to prevented from going back to the street ?

    • @ronsonsensano1847
      @ronsonsensano1847 5 лет назад

      You can’t push water back to street unless you’re making water or street water looses pressure. It will circulate within your system.

      If returning water to the city water system was a big concern the plumbing code would already require back flow preventors on you water line.

    I would like to install this in my new home but others recommend against it due to the fire hazard. My contractor still recommends black iron pipe. I'm confused.

    don't buy this stuff; getting the fittings to hold pressure is incredibly hard. find another product.

      +T Daly I have not tried CounterStrike yet but, I have used FlashShield and WardFlex and I have not had a problem so far. Even the csst I bought from HomeDepot for temporary use, did not have a problem. I usually pressure test above 5 psi for around 24 hours. So, you don't have problems with other csst tubing?

    • @vawa_82
      @vawa_82 4 года назад

      @@HVAC_Jae how do i know if my csst is bonded? Im looking at the icc evaluation notes on this and it says its considered bonded if "connected to the equipment grounding conductor of the circuit supplying that appliance." so does this mean that there's an extra piece required..the csst is not just coming from the floor and connected to the appliance gas connection?

    • @HVAC_Jae
      @HVAC_Jae 4 года назад

      Va Wa Bonding clamps are used to connect each end of the CSST with copper wire of minimum AWG thickness OR the CSST has built in bonding conductor like Flash Shield. The short appliance connector is not the same as CSST gas tubing that is used to rough in the walls, basement, or even outside.
