Filmed from September 13th to 14th, 2024, this is our second attempt at creating a video, and Zach spent the whole day after filming in editing. He somehow still managed to find time to go hunting this morning! We've learned a lot from our last shoot and believe you'll notice...
Yeppers. Our pets are the exact same. I’m out of town on a hunting trip and it’s killing me not being around Bubbacat. Both boys are rescued too. My heart is with you Zachary. Our prayers are with you and your family.
Hey man nice to meet you and your wife today. I hope you found what you were looking for. Looking forward to going through your videos.
@notyomonky we didn't 😄 thanks for helping with the search. I doubled back over everything and still didn't locate the arm. It's lost for good. Awesome meeting you as well and look forward to getting a hunt in together sometime!
Been hunting Redlands for the past 5 seasons ever since I moved to Georgia. Absolutely love Redlands wma. I'd love to get in contact with you, and chat about some stuff if possible. Good luck out there, but most importantly be safe!
@chrisprice8400 reach out to our channel email with your contact and we'll give ya a call sometime to chat about redlands! We're new to the state and wma. Always eager to learn from fellow hunters.
I've had CODE BLUE work for me twice , once in vine mock scrape on nocturnal buck and the second on drag set with buck urine...
If I know u have a doe in Estrues on your property, would you use ?
@Crayz919 if I use doe estrus is peak rut only. After that, I revert to buck or regular doe depending on where I'm at with tags.
I’ve done the smoking thing using oak leaves in my bee smoker many times over the years and I’ve realized every time i use smoke i get busted. Every time. Maybe i over do it? But i don’t think so. I stopped doing it and the times i get winded have dropped by ten fold.
I don't use a bee smoker. I've found campfire works best and I really lay it on the evening before. This tends to work best for me with a pot and soak method as runner up. The thicker and stronger smelling of smoke you can smell the better. I mean "really" lay it on yah. Smell like a camp fire cloths hair skin all of it. I've even used ash on my face for camo.
Boxee's are cool. He was looking for you. LOL.
My favorite part was how red his eyes were!
I smoke my clothes after every wash via camp fire or pot in the back of my truck. My saddle is home made hahaha and custom to my gear set. I think your biggest worry will be the platform, regarding saddles they should have one for you. If not they're not to hard to make. Mines built off of a 500lb weight rating design.
Been waiting on this one Smoking the clothes. Is that something you do often? I've done it and it seems to work. I have one of those bee keeper smoker things and put leaves and pine straw in it to smoke the camos. I'm seriously thinking about getting a saddle setup for next year. I've been watching some videos etc and looking into costs. I'm 300 lbs though and leery about it. I HAVE seen some nice gear weighted up to 400-500+ lbs. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.
I’m going there this weekend, can’t find this spot/area on onx, could you share details?
Wouldn't bother. There were a lot of people there this weekend in that general location. I actually had to change locations for my evening hunt on the fly. It's going to be really popular the next few weeks apparently. If you want the best chance of killing one, I'd encourage you to scout a different area. This one became quite crowded once rifle opened. We'll be setting up in a different area at Redlands and putting out a decoy for the first time this weekend. Going in blind for the third time. Dropping our second hunt video tonight with another buck and the chaos from last weekend. If you really insist, its off shiloh and patrick road. Just be advised there were over 15 hunters in there Saturday morning and my hunt got blown up. Recovered in the evening though!
@@WatsonOutdoor Nice, im headed up there in the morning for the weekend, Im looking a little more west/north. Good luck!

I set my Hot Scrape Dripper yesterday. Lure is your best friend or worst enemy. That's a whole video there. I use Lure very sparingly. Fox pee/Doe pee is working good right now. Hunting without lure is very effective when you know what to look for. I wonder what a flag would bring to the rattle drop down. I know rattling and tearing it up on the ground is very effective when the fighting starts. A bit unnerving when they roll in. Be careful about drag bagging heat in the Dark. Unless you can shoot a buck in the dark. He might take a liking to you. Praying for You Both and Timber.
Well that belongs to her now. Let me tell you something. We didn't have the 'ol possum on the half shell, armadillo issues like we have in Georgia now. Those things were mostly plains and coastal but they're up here in the mountains now too. They sound like a freight train coming through the woods too.
@Artisanwoodworks73 they hung out under us the entirety of the hunt. This was the condensed footage lol.
Thanks for the info! I'll be taking it out to the deer woods with me in the next few weeks. Get well soon Timber!
Yes sir. Good to see another video Zachary. Rut- In Georgia, you're correct. last week or so of October through at least the middle of November. AND, as long as the does are receptive. In all my years I've seen does bred all the way through January and occasionally February. Pee- I agree with you. Using it can stop a deer long enough to get a shot. Some folks swear by it but personally I have had better success without it as bucks are going to stay in their own pattern throughout the rut, they'll just do it longer and over a greater amount of land. "9:12- cone of shame makes it's appearance... lol I use a hands free grunt tube that you don't blow but you suck on a little tube. It also has a variable tone by sliding an O ring to different slots. My rattling setup is exactly the same except I have 2 sets of antlers on mine. DUDE! you gave away the can secret! I'm sure we're not the only ones blowing in that thing though. Hey, you ever use a decoy??? Do you duck hunt? Timber. We are absolutely praying for her healing. Thanks for sharing another video.
Georgia calls an inline a primative weapon?
Yes sir. In-line muzzle loader is considered primitive in GA.
It's the same in Oklahoma as well.
Catman had a doe sniff him down to the tree he climbed. Public Doe wanting to know where the hunter went to an extreme. I don't think I've ever worn Possum Perfume before. LOL. Nice Vid.
I watched his recent video and absolutely loved it.
GREAT BUCK, REDLANDS SEEMS TO BE THE PLACE TO BE! CONGRATS
Thanks TGT!
Cut Green bean field - lolz - somebody doesn't understand the ONX crop layer and can't recognize specific crops. SMDH.
Only use onx for its satellite at the moment. New user of the app. Regarding the field it's a cut corn field with greenbeens of some kind dispersed throughout that also looked freshly cut. I verified the weekend before on our travels. Held them in my hand.
Also isn't crop a elite onx function? I just bought the 1 state basic subscription. Really don't need the other functions.
GREAT quality public land buck brother! And what a good dog! Big bodied 8 point on public is a trophy any day especially opening day of muzzle loader season and a FIRST Georgia Buck. You need to send some photos off to GON- Georgia Outdoor News. If you don't already have one, get a subscription to them. I'm happy happy happy for you Zach! Congratulations. We definitely gotta hunt together soon.
@Artisanwoodworks73 thanks artisan for the thoughtful comment. Glad to have ya along. Ya he came in from the road side while the leaves were wet. I never heard or saw him. Just happened to catch him in the corner of my eye. One of those look over your shoulder all twisted moments. He'll eat well 😋
Zach! Well, I'm writing THIS comment about halfway through the video. Almost didn't get that camera turned on huh? Glad you did. Something I think is great about black powder IS all that smoke. The slow motion did help in spotting the buck at the shot and as he ran off to the left. Brother I'm stoked for y'all. Redlands is a crazy WMA too with a lot going on in a big place. Ummm, I know just about where you were and I'm surprised you didn't have more hunters right up on you there. Ok, time to watch the rest.
Congrats on your first Georgia deer!
Thanks Lance. Hope you enjoyed the video!
That'll get you some sore muscles. I'd of banked on a Doe first. Great Job on the Video Edit. Fat Black Faced One. So much easier without the Cam.
The cam definitely increases the challenge by far.
I am here in Comer Ga, need to let me know if you want to hunt
We're heading out to Redlands this weekend for all day sits. Will be camping as well. Shoot us an email and come on out!
I'm so happy I made this. 🤤

@@daviddostal9789 204 to Ellabelle people have property

Nope- first thing you need is buck urine and a mountain dew
@bryankimmey8497 i forgot about mountain dew. 🤣
noticed you slipped a little on that hawk platform, i have the same one and i added grip tape and knurled the edge all the way around with a dremel on mine and it is very non slip now lol
@cliftongarrison3649 haha I've been waiting for some one to catch that scene. Put that in there on purpose to show what hunting in the rain is like. Great idea by the way. I've got to camo dip it still.
Great video! I love seeing the honest sides of hunting instead of the sponsor rich scripted RUclips shows that make it seem easy. It's definitely not! Thanks for uploading! good luck from a fellow GA hunter! I subscribed!
@1983eville that was the goal. I'm in the same boat as you. Lotta folks think it's to long, but I'm on the other side. Hunting is way more than most portray it as.
Good video!!! Just subscribed!!
@steveporteroutdoorsohio4739 thanks Steve glad to have you join the party. We've got more content coming soon. I'm waiting on gear to come in that is delayed from the 🌀. This will up the quality.
Pricey for a budget. I like it.
@christopherwatson283 next somewhat equivalent camera is $1300. Then it jumps to 1800, 2200, and 2700. It's a good deal at 800. It doesn't have as good of low light capability, but all other components it's hitting above it's weight class. A 1 inch sensor camcorder is $2200 with all other specs equal.
Slow down and film some B-stock for some horror movies
Got about an hour of footage. New to this. This something you can spin as clips and sell? It was great footage.
@@WatsonOutdoor you'd have to sell it in bulk
It certainly sounds like poaching. Just as an FYI... unless the regs say otherwise, small game hunting is allowed during the state season on WMAs unless a quota hunt is going on. They used to not allow small game hunting during any deer hunts on most WMAs but that changed several years ago. I know nothing about BR WMA or if it has any hogs. There can certainly be conflicts between small game hunters and archery hunters especially if someone is hog hunting with a muzzle loader during archery season. Perfectly legal but not advised.
@@dannyleigh2272 hog is seasonal on broad river and not in season. Weapon fired was high caliber rifle. ^_^
@@WatsonOutdoor Hogs are in season on WMAs in GA as long as something is open for hunting... you just have to use the weapons that are allowed for that season. For small game (squirrel right now) you have to use small game weapons. (archery, ML, rimfire and shotguns with #2 shot or smaller) Many people get tripped up when the regs show a hog/coyote season in late May, but that just means you can hunt those 2 animals during that time as nothing else is open.
Thanks for sharing your story. I was going to head up to Broad River later in the season. If you ever get further south, I am regularly in Redlands WMA. Happy to shake hands and talk for a few minutes if you want. I’m also not a native Georgian. I hail from Texas so it’s nice that you picked that trim package for Guille!
Definitely. I'm planning an October weekend camping trip at Redlands for some hunting. If you want shoot an email to our contact and let's connect. I'd be happy to meet and even join you on a hunt sometime. I'm dialing in on Broad River. Maybe you can come up sometime and join me on a hunt as well. -Zach
The Gamey being present helps to deter poaching. Illegal Hunting has become an epidemic. They out there after Antlers. May have the gun stashed. May operate after dark. Always good to get to know the Gamey. They will move along after they get to know you. It's un-nerving having a gunshot go off in a Bow Only area or an area designated only a bow at this time. Your videos are worldwide. Not confined to Georgia. Most Archers that shoot a Big Buck don't give up so easily. Maybe he went to get a dog if tracking dogs are legal or, he may be your poacher trying to mislead you to come back later and collect the deer and gun.
Poachers give us all a bad name. You made the right call.
Thanks Joseph. I couldn't agree more with you.
Checking in from Effingham county Georgia bo, good luck this season 👍!!!!
You to David. Thanks for dropping by! More videos to come!
