    Historically, those who invade Russia have failed miserably. This is true of Napoleon, Hitler and many other enemies of Russia in the past. Their forces were much larger and much better organised and less corrupt than Ukraine. So the west doesn't want a nuclear war, because it still realises that starting a nuclear war over such a pathetic country as Ukraine is not a good idea.

    What percent of Russian ICBMs have been maintained well enough to launch and reach their intended targets? How many would explode in or over Russia? No way to know, but there are reasons to believe that the majority of Russia's ICBMs would fail, perhaps the overwhelming majority. Consider first that, over the last two years, Russia conducted four tests of its ICBMs and all four failed. Furthermore, most or all of the tested missiles were Russia's NEWEST model not the aged Soviet-era models that constitute the bulk of Russia's nuclear arsenal. Moreover, that arsenal is the perfect victim for Russian-style corruption. The nuclear wing of the Russian military is the most richly funded wing. The US, for example, spends tens of billions per year just to maintain its nuclear arsenal. Furthermore, the money Russia allocates towards its nuclear arsenal is relatively amenable to stealing, that is, any given Russian officer in charge of an ICBM silo or battery will assess the odds as low that he'll ever get convicted for embezzling funds intended for ICBM maintenance. For starters, he very much doubts that his embezzlement will ever be discovered through the failure of the ICBMs under his watch, because he very much doubts there will ever be an order to launch them. Even if one day there was such an order, at that point in time a conviction for embezzlement would be the least of his problems. Indeed, at that point in time he's probably already dead from the nuclear exchange with the US or another major power. Even if he survived a nuclear exchange, the evidence to prove his crimes -- records, witnesses, physical evidence -- may not survive. In any event, it is hard to see a judicial system functioning in post-apocalypse Russia where the threat posed by roaming cannibals eclipses any threat posed by detectives seeking justice for financial crimes committed "in the before time". What all this means is that, in effect, the US has more functional ICBMs than Russia, probably far more. Indeed, it's possible that the fraction of Russia's ICBMs that function well enough to reach the US and cause a nuclear explosion is small enough that US anti-ballistic missiles (ABMs) would take out nearly all of them -- or even all of them were the US to first double or triple its inventory of ABMs.

    Lockhead Martin had lost its way. All they do now is make technology overpriced, over budget to the U.S government. Seriously you design study and company is located in California, but your building F35 in Texas 💩. No wonder the cost overrun became the most expensive in government contracts. The government should invest more in company like Anduril instead of Boeing and Lockhead Martin. No wonder he didn't even mention the cost 🫣🫣.

  • @rickjames18
    @rickjames18 26 дней назад

    I don’t understand, clearly this is a weapon the US military especially Navy needs 100%. Yet, no one at the pentagon is giving it a chance at trials? All the work seems to be done so they say, it is the smallest hypersonic weapons on the market. If everything is as they say about the MAKO what is the delay?

    • @rj8u
      @rj8u 25 дней назад

      Because it's damn right expensive what Lockhead Martin is asking the government to fund these projects instead of taking the cost of themselves. This will balloon into another overpriced and over budget F35 project. Anduril would beat Lockhead Martin in these technologies and the government won't have to out up the money for development and manufacturing.

    • @rickjames18
      @rickjames18 25 дней назад

      @@rj8u Normally I would agree with you but it seems like MAKO is already done and ready for trials. Seems like Lockheed ate the cost of R&D and built it. That is the main reason why I am wondering why the pentagon isn't jumping on it. IF it works as advertised and is not a money pit considering it is a hypersonic weapon of small scale it would be perfect. No one else has anything like it. Like I said, it depends on how honest the program manager is being.

    • @rj8u
      @rj8u 25 дней назад

      @@rickjames18 Based on the interview on this video it seems Lockhead Martin wants the Pentagon to shoulder the cost for manufacturing and given he did not gave a cos per unit of this weapon is a big no no in my opinion. The Pentagon needs to start re thinking about spending costs for such a weapon these big companies offer and start more competitive bid for other companies like Anduril for example. Lockhead Martin is a money pit for Pentagon, you just have to look at it's past overrun contracts as an example.

      There is program SiAW and it is based on AARGM-ER, basically a tweak of existing missile and it will use components which are already in production, and all of this should make it a lot more cost effective solution than MAKO. SiAW will not be hypersonic, but mach4 is good enough.
