Last Man Standing
4.2 mile loops every hour on the hour for 12 hours. This event was incredible! It was my first event that I hosted and the community came out and showed out. The vibes were high and PRs were made.

In 5th grade I was over weight and could finish in faster the that I finished almost sub 29 and then sixth grade no training almost sub 27 seventh grade no training 24:13 and this year no training sub 22
@@ValorousCart sounds like you’ve been training since 5th grade. Great work
@@danmarchese_ I have lol
One of the most logical 50 miler training videos.
Congrats!

yoo lowkey thats good but i need to see updates of him doing 5km in 24minutes! its a challenge tag me i believe in him
More!!!
Gratitude
Weight lifting probably won't help much at running although I did enjoy the fellowship of a couple football players and a body builder in college who did heavy squats. About 15 years prior to Old Dominion 1990.
Double layer socks, either manufactured or wearing a thin inner sock under a thicker outer sock. Greasing the foot slightly with petroleum jelly or as one highly successful runner did, with his favorite brand of motor oil.
Awesome!! Congratulations!! Did you have any mantras or thoughts that kept you moving during these low points? I can't wait to see what's next either! Mountain 100 miler???
Hey, 4.16 plus refueling in an hour gets pretty tough for some of us after a couple laps! That jog/ hike/ rest combo is how I do ALL ultras. 😂 Great job on 100 miles!! I can't believe you're under 1k subscribers with your great content. I bet you'll be at at least 5k by summer!
Hey Kelly thank you so much. I really have not been too active on YT but after this comment im definitely going to start posting more content. In September of '23 i did another Last Man Standing race and ended up with 144 miles in 33 hours. Seriously grateful for you!
Great video! Strength training shaved a minute per mile off my pace when i was doing 5ks, with less running. I'm hoping it can do similar magic for 50k/milers. 🤞 As far as sleep, sadly for some of us there's nothing simple about it. I work 55-65 hours a week at two jobs, and have a broken circadian rhythm... 4-6 hours is typical, with 7 being incredible. I've learned that if i want to live my life to the fullest, i just have to do it tired. I'll definitely try to prioritize it more in my 50 mile training this year.... maybe get it up to 5-7 hours a night! 😮 😅
For your own sake: move to Europe, start a job (that's just the one job) with a maximum of 40 hours a week and relax.
Great video with some solid points. Well done!
Thanks for watching and the feedback!
Well ive been meaning to google it but guessu might know more. I onlt run 5km (about 3miles) and im getting goddan shin splints, how do you deal with them?
@saberxzero the best way to prevent shin splints is by strengthening the lower leg muscles. Train your tibialis and calves

Right on man!
You run 18 Miles unfuelled? Or did i miss something😊🤷🏼. Great advise by the Way💪👍👊
Honestly at this point in my training, I might not have fueled for the entire run just pre and post. Haha. My approach to nutrition during training has changed since this video.
@@danmarchese_ I find if I fuel all my runs over an hour, my restitution is much better.
Should not need fueling for long workouts up to 3 Hours or 25 miles, you should just be burning fat
@@BRunner12 According to science, that’s a no😊
@@vendejos I won't get into the use of the word "science" but what science are you talking about, fuel source for long steady state or slower runs should be fat. My science is simple, I've done it for 15 years on runs up to 25 miles even when adding some Marathon or Threshold pace the last 5 to 10 miles.
love this great video
😂😂😂
Bro 😂
Special Olympics medals?
Man you are good
Hahaha yep top 3 every year
You just turned me up for my run today king

May i know what is your watch you wearing?
In this i am wearing the Coro Apex Pro. I now have Coros Vertix 2. I am a big fan of coros mainly for it battery life @sandi930
Still better than my time
Whats your max in one set? Or what was it then cause i can do 25 and idk if i can do 300 in an hour
My max is 30. You can absolutely do 300 in an hour. 5 pull ups every minute on the minute.
Would you happen to have your training regimine laid out on paper or spreadsheet? What about nutrition? Thanks in advance.
Hey Scott thank you for reaching out. I am a running coach and would gladly hop on a call with you. Just send me an email and we can set it up if you are interested. here is my email dmarchese0424@gmail.com
Great info brother. Thanks 💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥
You got it brother. Would you like to see more videos like this?
At least it looks cool. Maybe I should wait till it cools off to run a marathon. It's ridiculously hot these last few weeks.
I have a 56 miler on Saturday and I don't think I was able to train enough. Had to take time off jiu jitsu and decided to try a marathon while my shoulder heals, but only have been training for 2 months. Never ran long distances before that. I usually run about 5 miles after work everyday. On Saturday I'll run longer, 15 to 20 Miles. Sunday usually about 10 or 15. And that's only been for the last couple weeks I've been able to get those kind of runs in. Plus it's a trail run with decent elevation gain and I've been running on flat concrete. Plus it's hot as shit and my knowledge of hydration and fueling is pretty lacking. I'm going to go race, what's the worse that can happen, I'll just not finish in time. I'm just sort of wondering what my chances are.
Hey man thanks for watching. I think you have some pretty solid training under your belt man. It’s really all about pacing yourself, staying hydrated, taking your time and eat. If you have no time goal and are just doing it to finish. Just have fun with it. Don’t go too fast out the gate like many will. Walk when you need to especially up hills. You will crush it if you have no doubt that you’ll finish. Stay up on hydration most importantly man!! Good luck! Let me know how you do.
How did this go!?
How was your race??
Thanks for the tips!!
I just do 30 sit ups and call it a day fam. Lol nah but definitely trying this
Great video, straight to the point. Easy to digest
I would add and encourage cold WATER therapy for recovery as well. At 57 it is a huge component for me. 49 degrees 6 minutes a day. I prefer after workouts but a lot of people prefer before. I’ve tried both and do both but feel better results plunging after.
Hey Matt! Thanks for the sub! I started Implementing cold Water therapy and sauna 4-5x per week and 6-7x per week leading up to my 100 miler in December. I cant train without it now definitely will have to make an updated vid showing how I plug that in. Thanks again for watching.
Helped loads great video ❤
Awesome I’m glad I can help! That’s for watching
How far were your long runs for the 100 mile race? I am still working on my marathon distance so this is a just wondering type of question!!
Hey Edward thanks for asking! My longest run for my 100 miler was 25 miles. I did a back to back where the day before I completed a 20 miler. I built up back to back runs over a 6 week period. My highest weekly total mileage was just over 70 miles. I strength trained all the way up until the race 3-5 days per week along with stair master in the last 4 weeks / 2x per week for 20-30 minutes.
How’d the race go?
Hey Austin thanks for checking in. Absolutely crushed the race. Took 4th place. I’m just really happy with how well my nutrition and game plan went. Would have I loved to win it. I’d be lying if I said no but I am proud of myself and my crew for the performance we put on. I have been focused on my career and growing my IG and have been less active on here. But I am making a comeback to start posting more content and vids on here.
@@danmarchese_ awesome to hear! Sounds like a successful race overall!! What’s your Instagram?

I subscribed. Hoping to see a video about getting your nutrition while on your feet! maybe running shoes and running form after that.

keep it up
Great video! Very easily digestible info. I'm a huge fan of the back to back long runs. I think that's the key to being ready for some of these longer races. Teaching your legs what it feels like to run tired, but in a more controlled, safe way, is key.
Good video, thanks
