hey i havve a question am interested to start this proram but i have a couplke of problem. am actually business graduate but working in data science realm for the last 8 years (not as a data scientist though) gained a lot of interest in data science and learning it now for about a year but am actually not sure if this program is for me since am not coming from a technical background. any advise?

Would you recommend a masters in CS if I can't find a job in my field after graduating a year earlier, or is having work experience more valuable to try for first before studying? I feel like I have no real options with how unlucky I've been in this job market, despite gaining certifications and practicing relevant skills for entry or junior level roles.

I had a 2.3 undergrad gpa due to undiagnosed ADHD and completed many computer science courses except some senior courses. I also completed and got A’s in 2 cs graduate online courses at Arizona State. Would this be enough for Georgia tech?

Would getting a masters in AI from UT Austin help someone break into AI that doesn't have any experience in the field ie like going from software dev => AI?

They all have different curriculum. At the end of the day, you must do your own research and determine which curriculum would suit best your career objective.

Currently, I am pursuing my online MS in Cybersecurity degree from GTech while simultaneously working full-time at a cybersecurity company. I have enrolled in a single class worth three credits, and I must admit, it has proven to be quite challenging. Your account of your own experience brings me comfort, as it reassures me that GTech is indeed a rigorous institution for many students, not just myself. 😅

you could get the Georgia Tech OMSCS AND a graduate certificate in data science from harvard extension AND a graduate certificate in bioinformatics from harvard extension for less then the cost of some of these degrees

Its untrue that UIUC MCS is newer than OMSCS, I was looking at it years before OMSCS even came up in the radar. They may have made it more massive recently, but they have long been providing a distance program. Other Universities that have had distance (online) programs before OMSCS include: CMU, Stanford, University of Colorado, as well as University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (and probably others I don't now remember). I know this because I was long considering these, but ended up jumping on OMSCS (when it just started) because it simply didn't require a GRE and was a fraction of the cost, while still being from a top University.

Does the course CS411 is the same as the one taken by on campus students ?

How do they handle ai now with these coding challenges?

Helpful info, thank you. It sounds like for those without a tech background that this likely isn't an appropriate program. What program might you recommend for someone who wants to learn more about these subjects conceptually, but isn't looking to work in IT, but could have a need to understand these subjects on a more advanced level as as a mid or executive level manager?

Saw this video a year too late. I am now half way deep in Swift as a beginner. I agree Swift starts out easy, but it gets complex as you get deeper. It does not only do Object Orienteering, but Functional and Protocol programming as well. I however disagree on not being useful, as I can make Apps and directly test them on my iPhone and Mac. Which is a great way to learn programming, and also making Apps that you can sell at the same time.

Does the GT degree appear any different than the in person?

What did you do to fill your DS&A requirement? I noticed the OMSCS recommends a $500 MOOC course that they offer, but it also says that doesnt guarantee admittance. Id like to take the MOOC but maybe itd be better to take an actual course from an accredited college instead? Or do you think a MOOC that they recommend would suffice?

I have a bachelor + master in Finance, and have been working full-time for ~2 years as a self-taught software engineer. I am now considering doing either OMSCS, MCIT, MCS or the MCS from Texas. Do you reckon I could get in with my background? Or would I need to take courses in Discrete Mathematics and Data Structures & Algorithms first?

Hi Will, if you've transferred from a community college to the 4 year, will the graduate program only look at your cumulative GPA or only your GPA from the 4 year ?
