I did a thing. I usually don't do the things because I am not very good. But this shot came while I was not in great position, so I had to improvise.

Best explanation of this flexible Zippo lighter upgrade. Rather safe, since ALL other Zippos will leak raw butane with the lid open. Miss the classic flint action, but hey. You gotta give up something for this Uber utility AND safety.
This is perfect for the more discerning cigar smoker
They have their advantages and disadvantages. But definitely worth having in the tool kit for cigars.
i have a zippo alchemy lighter and im getting a book of the dead armored zippo. I decided to make a zippo kit and get this thunderbird insert and a ace case zippo and some butane. all cost it was around 50 bucks but its definitely worth it. a zippo without leaks is everymans dream.
Been looking for something like this. I like toasting my cigars with a torch but to me they start off with a better flavor and burn if your initial puffs start with a soft flame
Yeah I agree. Since this video posted they have become a readily available product from Vector btw.
I only got mine recently it’s a bit annoying, when I push the button down it often doesn’t light on the first push and I have give it a shake before I can get it to light
Even with the smaller amount of butane it can hold I just want to know how long you’re able to use it before refueling it
In terms of cigars I can toast and light about 3 - 5. So I'd estimate about the same number of minutes.
I would love this but alot of reviews saying they kick the bucket quick and leak the butane. How have they worked for you if you still use them?
I have not had any issues with mine.
where can you buy it from?
Thank you for explaining the 2 valve system. I was having A LOT of trouble getting the second flame to ignite. But now they I release the button slower I am able to consistently light the second flame.
did the adjustment screw affect on the soft flame? or it just to adjust the torch flame only?
I have a brand new Vector ELIO/04 (soft flame pipe lighter) that I paid $29.95 for. I tried to return because it's crap. Tobacco shop offered to sent it in for repair but wouldn't issue refund. This thing is pure junk. You'll never see another Vector lighter in my pocket.
Did you try to send it to Vector on warranty instead of going through your retailer?
Why's it crap I just ordered one of these lmao
Looked very interesting until I read the reviews on Amazon. I have two Thunderbirds and they work great so maybe I’m lucky but won’t be taking the chance here
I have looked for one of these for ten years. A cheep version was sold in the 90's and I could only find them in south Carolina. They didn't last more than a year and I wore them all out, I had eight of them and the distributer went out of business. Thank you for this video I'm ordering one as soon as I get done with this comment. Again thanks man.
Sure thing. The video is a bit old and the model is now regularly advertised as part of Vector KGM's catalog, and not hard to find anymore. Enjoy 😀
Good cigar lighter.
Hey so if the soft flame is ignited, can you push back down on the button to ignite the torch again or do you have to shut the lid and then reopen it to strike the torch again ?
Yup, you can push back down on the igniter to ignite the torch again without needing to shut the lid. You can just keep going back and forth as much as you want.
Review the z-tourch
Where did u get soft flame insert
I purchased it from an Amazon seller. a.co/6hhegEe
Very cool, I just got the soft flame version yesterday, great product, at some point I'll get this model for those windy days, thanks.
The soft flame model is much more windproof than the dual flame (zippo-like chimney vs electronic lighter chimney)
Cool!
Got one from Amazon today. Works great, just waiting on my Zippo to come back from repair. Thanks for the video.
Nice catch! There's a Z-Torch insert out there somewhere that works like this with the dual mode flame, but with a flint wheel. Haven't seen it on sale anywhere for a couple years. Striking the wheel engages the soft flame first, and then a button below the wheel engages the jet flame. The packaging reads "Z-Torch Dual Flame Insert," but searching for this on Google only gives hits for the unrelated JetLine product of the same name. You should be able to find pictures of it on Google Images but these all link to long-sold-out listings on Amazon or eBay or whatever.
Hmmm interesting. Thanks for the tip.
That what I want! I dislike the electric ignition of any of the torch inserts I can find.
MCVastDifference ever found a source for it?
Andrew, thanks for the advice and the link to the video. Unfortunately, RUclips flagged your comment as spam and won't post it. I made the lighter mods with the camera rolling and should get it uploaded tonight. Check it out, if you want and see how I did.
It was likely because I included a RUclips link. No worries. Thanks for the reply.
