A very big and heavy Neo-vintage automatic Chronograph and a famous space watch. CORRECTION: It is not the Lemania 5200 but the Lemania 5100 Caliber!

Seiko Vintage Chronograph 7a28-7049 ´Speedy´
These really are gorgeous models. They make modern 40mm+ watches look pretty clumsy in comparison.
@@jimmymontoro9062 very true - the only problem for using them every day is the water resistance as the battery latch is often not good isolated
the hands might be too short, in my opinion
@@henrigraber2741 thanks for the hint, ill check out pictures of the model!
Gorgeous piece.
facets look sharp.
@@spitfireaace yes the glas was replaced with a new original Seiko spare part glas. I bought this one from a Vintage Seiko expert watchmaker in Rome who reviews all the watches before he sells them
Looks very nice.
I believe these were more expensive than the high end automatic Seikos when they came out. I have a 1979 king quartz (twin quartz in lovely condition)
that is true. The Quartz technology was very exclusive in the market when it was still new.
Beautiful.
yes I really regret that I sold it! 😢
@@watchesareanachronistic1467it does look good on your wrist, I like small watches, I feel relieved when I wear them for days compared to bigger ones.
Beautiful. Did you buy new watches lately?
thank you for you comment - yes I have some new. I plan to make videos but lastly I was too busy 😞
@@watchesareanachronistic1467Can't wait, your collection is top notch.
slightly out of focus
I have the same watch. Would you have a rough idea of the cost of a basic servicing?
I would estimate (for Germany) around 250-300€
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 Thank you.
Love this watch. I own one. Your English is perfect sir👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
thank you very much! It is still in my collection- happy new year for you!
Push the crown in then?
I'll push your s*** in.
Can you link the site where you bought it from?
this is the site: uhrforum.de
Im buying the same watch.
That's a beautiful birthyear watch for me. Looking to get one soon. Great video.
These are one of Seiko's finest. Accurate to 10 seconds per month, 100m water resistance, 1/10 second chronograph, only 10.8mm thick. If a Swiss watch had all these features and looked as good as this it would cost way more than a Speedmaster.
That crown...
already changed 👍
love it
I have one of these in gold, without the day/date function. Great watch!
I sold my golden one unfortunately! I wished I had not!
Are these been serviced ? I mean complete overhaul like me mechanical watch ? Or just replace battery? Also are these seals not available?
yes they were dissembled and serviced. The parts were cleaned and assembled again. Same the Seiko Quartz Chronos of the 7a27/7a38 series in my Vlog. Original parts are difficult to find
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 hmm so quartz also need to be serviced, like new modern grand seiko quartz
Lindo❤
e verdade! Muito obrigado pelo comentario!
Interesting review. The turning of the crown will also allow the internal bezel to move the indicator arrowhead to time a second event. I wear mine, my Vader as well, king Seiko etc as daily wearers. Enjoyed the video, hope you’re still at it and creating content.
Thank you! Yes I will definitely make new content and I have already reviews in preparation. However, at the moment I lack a little bit time due to the job
Have you pushed in the crown to change the date and day? Push the hand in hard to adjust both the day and date, push it in lightly and you can change the date alone. Let me know if that works.
How much would a king quartz with a unique dial like that sell for in 2023. Same condition as this piece
I would say 150-220 USD
I have a mint one of these with day date. My wife bought it me around 1986. It still works too! She bought me the white face version too!
these watches are very robust and timeless! Plus it is a wonderful memory in your case! Thank you for your comment!
can't umderstand this english
I am sorry to hear this - maybe better watch channels of English native speakers. Surely you learned many foreign languages much better than me 👍
Amazing watch sir . Absolutely beautiful 💐
thank you for your comment! - yes the reflections of the crystal and the dial is special! 🙏🏻
Thanks for your splendid review, sure you got the original bracelet, only the clasp is replaced. You are so right about that stunning dial with those sparkling, 3D indices. A piece of honorable perfection.
Hi Michael thank you for your answer to my video! Isn‘t it strange that these King and Grand Quartz all look very minimalist and similar but every piece has its own little detail which makes the character? If I see a good one I mostly almost cannot resist
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 True! Did you notice that hidden ingenious complication for adjusting 2 seconds front or backwards by turning the crown? Makes you wonder why that isn’t standard these days…
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 And the inside of the bezel is polished like a mirror to reflect those sparkling indices. King Seiko did put so much LTC in their watches that you can look for hours in admiration and still discover new details.
@@michaelmasimo1506 yes that was very innovative. The good thing is that these gems are still underrated because of the ‚evil‘ Quartz word.

I’m in your boat…. I don’t do total refinishing of any vintage watch in my collection… I like Rally perforated leather bands on just about any watch… Nice watch!!
Yes, I also do not let them make the refurbishing of the cases in the revision of the newer watches. Regarding the rally bands, I used to have one on a Mondia electric…very nice 70s style with those bands! Thank you for your comment!
Stunning watch.
1củ rưỡi bạn ơi
Lol I live the way you say kwarts
😆
I have this watch in gold, same dial, same movement, interesting date complication.
I am not a friend of the way to adjust the date in this movement by pulling the crown. I am always worried to destroy the movement by doing that too often. As I wear these vintage watches only occasionally I mostly dont put the right date
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 well I guess that there’s that way to do it.
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 Still better than my 1481 movement Geneve, with the push date, mine works but is reputed to be fragile.
An interesting history accompanied with an awesome watch, wonderful video!
Thank you! Glad that you liked it 🙏🏻👍
How much bro from Pakistan
I was the proud owner of a 7a38, at least until it was stolen from my hotel room in Hammamet, Tunisia, gutted. After this happened i have NEVER tipped any hotel staff ever again.
This is not good of course. However, not everybody is same and not every member of hotel staff is criminal... It's a good idea, though, to keep every valuable in the locked luggage. Never had any issues in decades of trips all over the world.
Beautiful timepieces. They're both 7049s, the 7040s do not have min or 1/10s markings. Regardless, beautiful! You still have them??
The 7040 is still here; the 7049 I swapped against a 7038 🙂
Interesting - I is indeed marked on the base as 7040 - maybe the dial was changed then? Did Seiko do this consistent?
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 any chance you have a spare bracelet link you want to sell? I'm needing one to bump up the size on my 7049.
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 wow, good choice on the 7038. You need to upload a detailed video on that one.
@@mex3000cf unfortunately not. They are really hard to get!
Hello. I discovered your channel tonight and immediately subscribed. I love Seikos in general, and the vintage ones never cease to seduce me with the high quality of the movements and the beauty of the dials. Thank you for sharing with us these beauties of the past. Fabrice, from Normandy.
Hello Fabrice - thank you for subscribing my channel! I am not too active but I try to show the most interesting watches I have here. I am not a collector in the real meaning but I love to wear those watches as it gives me a little bit the feeling of traveling to the past and iconic styles. All the best to France from Germany!
Beautiful! I'm looking for a king or grand quartz with uniqe dial like these too.
The dial is seldom indeed. However, I never saw it in a grand quartz until now
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 you're right. I've never met one with this special dial in this line. But this hobby is a journey so I hope one day haha
@@hieubeo1202 hello i have one if you are still looking for it, from the Philippines.
i had this watch with the frosted white dial, but this one is more nicer. gorgeous black dial!
I bought this together with the frosted dial - I liked both but this one is more interesting indeed. Unfortunately the frosted one was too strongly polished so I sold it
Awesome watch, its rare in such a good condition and thanks for the tour around the town. I enjoyed it!
Glad that you liked it! 😊👍🙏🏻 thank you so much for your comment!
I love the vintage Seiko Grand Quartz and also the King Quartz! These are luxury watches by every measure. This one you are displaying here is an exceptionally well kept example of these beautiful timepieces! Both the care of the manufacturer’ finishing and the design of these historic watches show extraordinary attention to detail. The cuts of the cases, and textures of the dials which seems three dimensional are superb. I have the exact Oris that appeared in this video and I love it as well, but it is for a different function. Sometimes you need a bulldozer and sometimes you need a sleek race car! When these were available new they WERE the Grand Seikos of their era, with all the finery and prestige associated with them. Someone told me that the price these sold for new would equate to $4000 PLUS in todays market! Thank you for keeping these watches in the public eye so these can be admired by the newest generations of watch enthusiasts!
Cool‼️ From Japan 🇯🇵 👍
yes, japanese watches are great! ⛩🎌
Do you wants to sale it
no sorry it is not for sale at the moment
i have one for sale, do you have an instagram?
500 euro per un seiko a batterie 🤦♀️ no grazie
The single quartz was accurate to five seconds a month, and the twin quartz were accurate to ten seconds a year! You have your opinion and you are entitled to it. But Seiko makes watches for every budget. Some are super affordable and some are extremely expensive. But to disrespect these as simply “battery operated Seiko’s” shows ignorance. That is my opinion and I am as entitled to mine as you are to yours. Oh BTW do you also dismiss the top of line Tesla as “battery operated”?
@@tonyr669 true. You can’t compare these beautiful watches to most modern quartzes. These were overenginered jeweled movements, that still works very Well, after 40+years.
Rolex Oysterquartz my friend….
Just to let you know - you can correct the sec hand by 2 sec if running fast or slow. Turn the crown in the set position clockwise until you encounter resistance and then turn further clockwise. The sec hand will pause for 2secs. To correct for a slow watch tick then turn in anticlockwise position for a 2 sec "jump forward". It saves you having to totally reset by hacking. This was a feature of the 08xx movements. Something you may not know. These are amazing Quartz movements which are so badly thought of by "normies" and swiss watch snobs.
Cool feature! I didnt know this indeed! Thank you! 🙏🏻👍
Have you sold this watch already? I'm in a market for a 157/144!
no, I decided to keep it and let it be fixed sometime. I already invested too much in it so I would not get it back selling it. So, its the best keeping it and waiting, i think.
@@watchesareanachronistic1467 I understand completely as I've been there with another German chronograph. But the notion of 'sunk cost' from repairs and any non-monetary energy you spent aren't recoverable thus irrelevant to your decision :) Best of luck my friend, and keep us updated!
