Camino Francés - Logroño to Burgos 2024
Walking the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela.
We originally started in St-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France in 2017 and walked as far as Logrono. We finally got a chance to return in April 2024 to complete the remaining 615 km's to Santiago, this film is about the first stage from Logrono to Burgos. It was a fantastic experience, particulary the sections from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Leon with a quieter path and wide open spaces.

New Zealand Packrafting trip down the upper Ngaruroro River from Boyds Lodge to Kuripapango, first walking in through Poronui Station via Oamaru Hut. First day walking into the Oamaru Valley, 2nd day walking to Boyds at the Ngaruroro River headwaters, 3rd day rafting to Ngaawapurua Hut, then to Omarukokere Biv for the night. 4th day rest day in rain at Omar Biv. 5th day rafting to Rocks Ahead h...
I also walked from St Jean to Logrono. Hoping like crazy to return in June following you from Logrono onward. Thanks for sharing.
Good to hear Joe. It's a great walk to Logrono. Hope you make it there in June, buen camino.
Thank you for taking me with you! Greetings from Switzerland
@sergeibrin2691 Your welcome, glad to have you along 🙂
Such a cool vid, what was the flow when you ran it? Was there any part of it you wouldn’t recommend for a beginner? I was thinking about flying into Ngaawapurua and hunting for a few days then paddle out to Kuri over a couple of nights.
Thanks @greghughson7450 . It was running at 8 cumecs measured at Kuripapango. It is easier below Ngaawapurua but still technical dodging rocks a lot of the time. And below Kiwi mouth it's even easier with more water as the river widens out a bit. There's an event coming up at labour weekend called mighty mohaka, you can find it on Facebook page PRANZ.
@@mikesgonewalkabout I’ll have a nosey, thanks for the reply 👍
Really cool video thanks Michael - out of interest what was the river flow when you went through? Seemed pretty perfect to me
Thanks James. It was running at 8 cumecs measured at kuripapango , data.hbrc.govt.nz/hydrotel/cgi-bin/hydwebserver.cgi/points/details?point=167 . Nice to paddle at that level with clear water but probably better at 10-15 cumecs.
Awesome trip. You got the weather just right!
For labour weekend we were very lucky.
Man that was epic. The walk in would of been strenuous
The walk was difficult but well worth it , fantastic scenery and wilderness.
Very informative video. Does it show all the most difficult rapids? I'm planning this in 6 months time.
Thanks. It shows most of them, theres a couple of others in the Ngaawapurua gorge but they're not difficult. Good luck with your trip.
Awesome video man. Did u wear a full wetsuit or just 1mm pants and semi dry jacket
Thanks James. I had a 2mm soft paddle top and bottom from Torpedo and a 3mm shorty wetsuit over top, warm enough in good weather.
