Recorrido espectacular. Music track: A New Day by shandr Source: freetouse.com/music No Copyright ...

      I have cut 3,5cm off the tips of each side of ARTpro 1201, reprofiled the cutted sides and put some resin on it. Turns better and much more control. No noticeable negative points

  • @djodlight
    @djodlight 3 месяца назад

    The 1900 is a pumpfoil, it is no good for downwinding and waves, to slow and too hard to control, too much lift. The 1600 jam is just as easy to paddle up in flat water and combined with a 170dw tail, it works for very light conditions as a downwind foil. It can keep up with small and short period windchop. Not the 1900

  • @ericfernand

    Hows the low end? Easy enough to get up on foil?

    • @djodlight
      @djodlight 3 месяца назад

      I am very surprised about the low end of the Eagle X 1000. It is the smallest I have been using till now and struggled very much with that size from other brands. You can really feel the lift at low speed and pump away from critical situations where other foils would have stalled. I use 170dw tail, haven't tried yet with 145. First day I used the older 210DW and that was a disaster, 170 feels good and not been overfoiled even in 30kts and good bumps

    • @ericfernand
      @ericfernand 3 месяца назад

      @@ericfernandno, because it slows the foil down too much, so low end is worse. And I had trouble to control the foil with 210 stab. Felt like it wanted to have is own life...

Et déjà le 900, ça commence à être physique. (Sauf si grosse cartouche). Mais le gap avec le 800 est vraiment grand. If there is no wind and no windswell, it is just flatwater pumping, not really downwind. But with very light wind, the sea already gets some small waves that are enough to glide on with a big foil like the F One Jam 1600

    Hello I’m curious about cutting the 1201 down to the 1121 size. I’ve found the 1201 a bit much of a handful around the 20kt wind speed, with the tips feeling like they are loading up too much and causing wobble. I figure I can cut them down for a stiffer and less spanny foil. The reason I’m not just putting the 1121 instead is the low stall speed that I find fatiguing to manage. Any thoughts please would be appreciated! I was givin a link to come check out your video🤙🤙

      Sorry, only saw the message now. Months later and I am still using my cut off 1201 most of the time. It works really well and I had the same problem you say, I could almost not ride it before cutting, tips were throwing me off the board. But, when you cut it (mine is cut to 1130) you need to re-profile the new tips, thin them out and inside is pvc foam, so you need to put some carbon again on the tips after cutting.

      I think I'm not very talented and being over 60 doesn't make it easier neither. I really started trying hard in June, plenty of frustrating runs. I still panic when I have to pump because I think I will never learn that. Reading the sea is my best after plenty of wingfoil downwi ds. Getting up on big foil is easy when you can do it on flat water. But with smaller foils it needs to be super windy for me. So hard to say how long it takes to paddle up easy, depends on the foil and conditions.

      @djodlight Год назад

      There are some websites where you can find recomendations about the length of the paddle for SUPfoiling. It should be longer than for normal SUP in waves for 2 reasons. One is that you need to be able to get more boardspeed to get up on the foil, and therefor you need the length and type of race-SUP. And the other is that the paddle can help you a lot while foiling, but as you are higher, it needs to be longer to still be able to paddle. I think around 2-3 inches longer than your body length

    • @djodlight
      @djodlight Год назад

      The 1150 is a bit too slow but helps me a lot to get my poor pumping technique slowly better. The Lift 170 has very good low end, pumps really well, glides OK and carves nicely. But hard to compare such different foils. The 1150 is not very good for downwinds, really too slow. The 170 is great but is quiet small for marginal conditions I find.

    Pretty sick what you can ride with this. A LOT of exercise, for sure. I wonder how a longboard foil on open ocean swells (10ft + swells) - could you ride for miles (maybe need a chair on it)? Or even just a really long longboard (like 20ft) with weighted front end.

    • @djodlight
      @djodlight Год назад

      Windswell can be ridden "easily" for plenty of miles. Average speed is around 12-15 miles per hour so you might need a camelback with water for long distance rides. Of course it takes a lot of practice and it is super complicated to take off on the foil with a paddle out at sea for the average human. Open ocean swells generated in remote low pressures cannot be ridden so far, they move too fast.

      @@djodlight - pretty cool. I came across the electric ones recently too. Cheating a little ..., and not carbon neutral, but do look fun. Way too expensive. It will come down in time.
