Dear friend, I hear the weight of your struggles and the depth of your need for God’s grace. I want to share a prayer and a word of encouragement from the Scriptures that may offer you some comfort. **Prayer:** Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). I lift up this brother/sister to You, asking that You be their stronghold in this time of trial. Maybe I misunderstood your first reply. As a Born Again Christian the true Vicar is the Holy Spirit. As perspective of the Catholic belief, the term "Pope" itself is not found in the Bible, but Catholics believe that the role of the Pope is rooted in Scripture and the early Church. Here are some verses that Catholics interpret as supporting the papacy: Matthew 16:18-19: "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Catholics believe this passage establishes Peter, the first Pope, as the leader of the Church

@@qvstreams Jesus was referring to the revelation of Him being the Son of God. Go back to verse 16 and you'll find out. Anyway, when the foundation of a building is destroyed the building/righteous can do nothing Ps11:3, but since Peter was killed by the same romans who killed Jesus and other apostle then the church should be dead but that's not the case. So it means that Peter is not the vicar of Christ because he is dead and gone but the church is still here. The revelation of Christ is what the gates of hell cannot prevail against.
