    I saw a video on RUclips the other day of a guy working on an NES as well, but for some reason when he had the game loaded and pushed down in the system it showed a gray screen but when he pressed down on the game to lift it back up in the system when he turned it back on the game played perfectly.

    I'm 47 and I done much of what you did (with a few tools I had at the time) when I was 13-14 y.o. to keep my NES working because I used mine so much. Grettings from MX, subscribed and I will keep watching.

    DO NOT use magic eraser on electronic pins, they are made from melamine foam, it can scratch the surface of the pins, or any other electronic part and can even act as sand paper. Not to mention the entire eraser is a chemical that could react with the electronic components.

    • @trystonkincannon8320
      @trystonkincannon8320 3 месяца назад

      Okay I watch the next part, my point still stands, still do not use a magic eraser, as it can still react with electronic components.

    • @FixandRepairDaily
      @FixandRepairDaily 3 месяца назад

      I appreciate your feedback on this. I always clean everything really well before assembly. Since magic eraser is like 3000 grit sandpaper, it’s still important to use it with caution!

    not sure why you needed to take the cartridge apart to clean it. you can use isopropyl with a Q-Tip to get the pins clean, and even a magic eraser will fit in the cart pins area just fine.

    Honest tip, you can tell both by the screen and shell color that's not a 101. The screen is noticably frontlit, and in the USA, 101 models were only sold in "Pearl Pink", "Pearl Blue", "Graphite", Pikachu Edition, and SpongeBob Edition. May have forgotten to list a retail US 101 variant, but regardless any of those in those colors with the US retail region are legit. Non-101s in these colors, or 101s not in these colors are shell swaps, or of other regions. EDIT: I now see that the shell is swapped on this SP, but that screen totally is a 001 screen. 101 screens are more black when off. Also I mean no distaste or snark in this comment, just wanna help out someone else in the hobby!

    Boil the connector and clean the cartridge with .0000 only on the connectors, wipe the whole thing dry and clean with 99% alcy and then put a bit of deoxit contact cleaner and your NES will run and turn on 100% of the time

    Yea…seller really got ya on this one… now you’re to make a video fixing this connector and making money Ugh… 😩 I get it, you want to get a part and just be able to use it..but this somewhat damaged and dirty part seems like a blessing in disguise I’m my eyes…probably making you just as much if not more than it cost you in video profit

    Can i build a GameCube from scratch with these kits. I have two GameCube Motherboards aswell as the PSU and the Controller Board but i need the rest of the parts to build a GameCube with. Out of boredom i installed a Picoboot mod and a Pluto HDMI Mod using the Helder Tech Ribbon adaptor onto one of the motherboards i had laying around.

    • @FixandRepairDaily
      @FixandRepairDaily 3 месяца назад

      You’d have to get the screw hardware from somewhere like eBay. Other than that you should be able to build one out from the parts you’ve got.

    Cool video. Never seen a GC teardown before. I like your choices with the setup. The black handle, the gray reset button and the OG gray front plate are all the same choices I would make as well. And I agree that the light shining through the front needs to be changed as well. I wish these shells were easily available, I dont have a 3D printer or know anyone with one.
