Beyond Economic and Military Power: How Does China Influence the World? - Adam Seagal
Over the past seven and a half decades, China has transformed from an isolated, agrarian nation into a global superpower, and simultaneously impacting the international order with remarkable speed and ambition. Now, as the PRC approaches its 75th anniversary, under Xi Jinping’s leadership, China has embarked on what it terms a “New Era”-one marked by assertive goals across economic, military, and technological spheres. This milestone prompts a critical reassessment of China’s evolving strategies and objectives, as well as the profound implications for the United States and the world.

China is not the problem but the American control freak and world domination mentality is the root cause of most of the problems happening in the world. Everything mentioned here about China is the normal development and modernization that every country is in titled to do. What China is doing is not about the U.S. or to have the U.S. in mind. Why the U.S. is acting like a control freak that it watches everything China does? Why can the U.S. just do whatever it needs to do to improve the standard of living and take care of its people rather than do things to contain China? What China does has nothing or little to do with the mess American people are in now. China has not intention to contain the U.S.. China is for cooperation and common prosperity. While China is connecting the world by cooperation and trade, the U.S. is doing everything to maintain its superiority and world domination position at the expense, misery and destruction of other countries including China. Why don’t you talking how the U.S. cybersecurity and attack to other countries instead of talking about China? If the U.S. do to China, why can’t China do the same to the U.S.? Stop play double standard toward to China. The U.S. is not in position to act like more superior than others. We are all human being and should be treated equally not differently. Chinese deserve to enjoy the same things Americans do, not more and not less.

In respect to the argument that the use of Huawei’s telecommunications equipment represents a security threat to the United States, I think it is worth noting that the Pentagon has been given an expropriation as they claimed that it would be impossible to maintain its global communications without the Huawei infrastructure.

The US and other NATO members must pay close attention on Russia’s/ Putin’s future plans. If we and our allies don’t want to be forced into direct conflict with Russia, it’s imperative to continue to support Ukraine, as in my opinion if we take our eyes off the situation, and they beat Ukraine then what’s next…Poland?

White people should not give up power; it is unfair to them and it does no real good to black people because they lack experience in developing economy and governing the country. Some people may say: it is better to be free and poor than rich and enslaved. I think white people should shrink to the coast and keep only a part of the territory, like Singapore among Malays; or, form a federation of whites and blacks, each has its own local government and do their own things within the framework of one country.

Essentially this is just three feminist lefty academic women whining about Russians and Russia. I imagine their biggest complaint is Russia is just not woke enough. In their minds what Russia really needs is the liberal sewer disease called diversity. There are millions of people in the West who actually admire how Russia functions today, how it retains is traditional culture, customs and strong national identity. We need more Putin's in this world, not less.

By "socialists" idea.... if we match and map that, to the British model.... those individuals were...."Lords or gentries".... but SCMP call those individuals as "indigenous" (some kind of weird and oddball media journalistic term, maybe some kind of UN term).... So you don't basically move those individuals. Do you ?? But the thing is.. those individuals that HAVE actual.... education... is also because of actual.... keeping to standard of the Imperial model.. Cos frankly.. at this moment in time.. those individuals are kind of dying out? As in... It is like the British model.. some people are being marginalised and bumped off. So if you bump off the monarchy... then where would you be ???... Cos inside the PRC now.. there are still actual... a loose form of Imperial model. The old dynasties. (MAYBE.... the ratio... or unless... the "Chinese banks"... could be split. Rather than to split the families. Then split the banks.. as in.... Allow the Banks, to have respective family offices.. or units, that only serves THEIR families.. and their businesses etc....)..... By European standard, it is like.. each family, will have their own private bank. Or maybe their own private (family) currencies. Whatever it may be. And that ratio can indeed fluctuate.. but at the same time.. it can be managed ??? So therefore... if family A.. can pay 10 yuans for bread. Then family B might have to pay 5 yuans for bread. BUT.. they cannot buy each other's breads. (That was the... courts.. or what the courts were there to do.. which was to control the markets.. and the branding.. I think it was the Western views, that misunderstood what those courts were for. They were acting as a form of "mediator"....i.e. "You cannot overstep these boundaries, and these sales field locations, cos it belongs to their areas, and not yours. etc etc etc. )

Very insightful and I hope such discussions keep informing the public on the potential uses of AI going forward in good and bad ways and for people to be able to make reasonable judgements with as Dr. Herbert said "understanding facts on the ground". Thanks so much for sharing this.

Ambassador Shinn's claim that "the Chinese are not transferring skills to Africans", is not true. There's a lot technology transfer - ranging from small scale industries (cassava processing etc.), to telecommunications networks (e.g. Huawei). In fact, the Chinese are the only players still investing in certain aspects of technology, as Western firms are retreating from Africa - due to declining profits / unfavourable business environment.

Are you sure that it is "corruption"... or it is just lack of education and with the right level of qualifications? i.e. Systemic mistakes? So shouldn't the PRC deals with these average systemic issues, rather than to prosecute the individuals ??? I mean.... If they just "hold" and allow people to statistically correct themselves as well.... and the meritrocracy upward and whatever.. Maybe that should be "hold" and put on hold for at least 5 years... and shouldn't Xi actually step down by now ???... And increase financial education to correct those so called "corruptions" ? Cos basically... what IS happening, is that, the companies "stopped"... and that... a few officials got stuck in those so called misspending... and therefore badly prosecuted. The PRC stopped the death penalty a long time ago.. but in the rise in modernism... this is also ridiculous !!!!
