(mission 9 comments part 3, final) ... 7) The "large, long range, powerful missile" as you call it is called "Death Hand" in the game. They are part of a class of nuclear weapons. In Dune lore, the general term for nuclear weapons is "Atomics". Here's how the Death Hand works in the game: a) it always targets your Construction Yard, if you have one. b) it's extremely inaccurate. c) It will usually miss your Construction yard, instead falling in a random direction and random distance from your shipyard. d) The enemy needs to have "seen" your Construction Yard with one of its units before their Death Hand can be fired. e) As soon as your Construction yard is located, it will be fired at for the first time. f) Building a low/very low number of structures around your shipyard is an excellent idea, since it's always being targeted. Most important/expensive/fragile structures should be built a safe distance away from it. Allright that's it !

(mission 9 comments part 2) ... 3) I saw you use the DESTROY command on a Devastator, I had a big laugh ! haha ! Big damage ! 4) You ran most of the mission on a single refinery. That was foolish looool 5) I really liked that you ordered those 3 Combat Tanks near the end of the mission. They're not that bad and very inexpensive. I remembered once buying a pack of 5 from the Starport on the last mission, because nothing else was available. 6) Here's how spice storage works: each refinery can store around 1200 spice, and each Spice Silo adds another 1000 units. Several times during the campaign you ran out of spice storage space and lost spice. The game tells you when that happens with a specific message. Investing in a pair of Spice silos is a great idea. This is also why having a single refinery is a bad thing. (continued...)

(mission 9 comments part 1) Aaaaaaaah ! What a satisfying episode !! Several times you were able to buy Starport units at the minimum price (Rocket Launchers at 180, or Heavy Siege Tanks at 240) !! It felt great. Here is a few more interesting comments. 1) On the Amiga version, it was not possible to select a group of infantry troopers (or any other unit) and order them to shoot at a "Spice Trap". The only way to "open" a Spice Trap was to run over it with a unit (usually a low cost unit), opening the trap, but destroying the unit at the same time. 2) Also, on the Amiga, only the Atreides were ever able to build Ornithopters or order them from Starport. But I see that in this version you're playing, Ornithopters were available for the Harkonens to buy from the Starport !! (continued...)

(mission 8 comments part 2 final) Ok, just a note regarding Devastator tanks.... when they are destroyed, they cause a large, powerful explosion that damages or destroy everything within 2 squares of them, friendly or enemy, INCLUDING STRUCTURES (the closer, the more damage). Stay well clear of your Devastators when they are about to blow up. You can also move a badly damaged Devastator in the midst of a group of enemies, or move it next to an enemy structure, and watch the fireworks when it blows up. You can also manually detonate (Destroy) a Devastator at any time, to cause a large amount of damage to everything around. Click the Devastator and select Destroy. Note: when manually detonating, there will be a short countdown before it explodes, during which the Devastator will flash rapidly.

(mission 8 comments part 1) Hello again. I'm sorry to see that your Starports so far have failed to deliver the promises of large, cheap armies. The only time so far that I have seen any unit in your games that were at -60% was in mission 7, there were Rocket Launchers at -60% (180 cr, each, you didn't notice and didn't buy any). I also noticed that you very rarely check the price of the Heavy Siege Tanks, usually you open the Starport Panel, check the Rocket Launcher price, then scoll very quickly to the bottom of the list (the Heavy Siege Tank is the 2nd unit in the list). Still, twice *in this episode* I had enough time to see that the Heavy Siege Tank price was at 360 credits (that's -40%) and you didn't notice and buy any. Also *once* in this episode, Harvesters were at 150 cr. (that's -50%), another missed opportunity. I think you were particularly unlucky so far. Basically when you open the Starport, you have 1 chance out of 13 to get -60%. If you are satisfied with either -50% or -60%, the chance increases to 2 out of 13 (roughly 1 in 6). Keep trying !! 😀 Continued...

So many Friday nights spent on this and pizza. We did not have lan parties. It was over printer port (aka parallel port) with a null printer cable also known as a laplink cable. Only 2 players at a time.

The amount of detail is incredible. How the turrets get singed when firing. The are constructed all grey, but get blackened when fired. One of the classics this!

Greetings ! Since you embarked in this long endeavor, it's useful to memorize the keyboard shortcuts for a few buildings that are built often: building a farm: BF ... building a barracks: BB

(part 3 final) 7) Enemy walls, when destroyed, have a particular look to them. The enemy will never reconstruct walls so it's safe to station a vehicle on top of an enemy destroyed wall.

(part 2) 4) 30:46 Avoid moving your units on locations where enemy structures used to be (after they get destroyed). The game can decide to replace these structures right on top of your units and you lose your units, like the Devastator Tank you lost right there. 5) Devastators are not really worth the spice they cost (around 1000 credits), the best bang for your buck is the Siege Tank from the Starport. At -60% cost, you can buy 4 Siege Tanks from the Starport for only 960 credits (600 * 0.4 * 4 = 960) instead of the regular cost of 2400 credits if you build them yourself. Also, to build Devastators, you need several structures specifically for it, and need to upgrade them several times. Not worth it ! 6) Have 2 Spice Harvesters for each Refinery you own. The first harvester comes free after building the Refinery, and then you need to acquire 1 more Harvester. The best place to get it is.... you guessed it, the Starport. Personally around Mission 7, I want 3 refineries, 6 Harvesters, and 2 Spice Silos for storage.

(part 1) Hi ! Here's some more tips on how to use the Starport effectively. 16:01 The Rocket Launcher tanks at this timestamp was priced at only 180, that is extremely cheap and it's the best price you can get for it. You could have bought several of those for very little spice (you had 2000 Credits). A lost opportunity. 2) Another great price you are looking for is 240 credits for the Siege Tanks, that's the lowest price for them too. 3) You don't need to buy anything from the Starport for the prices to change. Just exit and re-enter.

Hello ! It's Power again. Here is a VERY important tip, now that you have the Starport. It will make you save a FORTUNE in spice ! Are you ready ? Here it is ! 1) When you open the Starport panel, a certain number of units of each type will be available. 2) Also, when you open the starport, a random number will be generated by the game; that number can be either: -60, -50, -40, -30, -20, -10, 0, +10, +20, +30, +40, +50, +60. 3) That number will be applied as a PERCENTAGE to the cost of ALL available units. If the number generated is below zero, for example, units will cost less than their regular price (the regular price is the price you pay when you build the unit yourself). 3) You can therefore have a bargain price and save a lots of money. 4) To figure out which of the numbers in the list was generated by the game, check out the prices of any unit and compare it to the normal price. 5) Obviously what you want is to pay -60%. 6) If you don't like the number generated by the game, simply close the Starport panel, and reopen it !! A new number will be generated. Keep closing and opening again until the game chooses -60%. This opening/closing can be done very quickly. The game is PAUSED when the Starport panel is open. Please reply !

So finally I had the chance to move forward a bit with new weapons and spells. Still trying to solve some objectives to unlock new spells and weapons. Hey guys! So I just unlocked Olog the Goblin. And the ability to run the game at 3x speed, which, combined with the 200% gameplay I edit my videos, means everything is pretty "speedy". That just means more game-play challenge for me and shorter video for you, which is great? Let's see how long I can keep the 3x speed going. What do you think of Olog? He's a bit risky to play because of the centered AOE, which means you will have to "tank" quite a bit to do damage. Anyway, consider subscribing to follow my "journey"!
