Urgent: Removing Poplar Trees to Save the View!
This dude is an imposter ,i never seen him do anything an average country homeowner couldnt do
What a beautiful sound!!!
It really is! Great working with these tools everyday
RSD, I KNOW that I can’t sell my body , except for when I’m no longer breathing and then it’s for scientific research! BTW, I’m even subscribed to GP already.!
lol Good stuff he’s a great guy as well
That had to be some serious wedge banging when that trees got that much back lean! I can definitely tell that you were out of breath because of it too. Whew!
It was a good fight and can’t complain with the outcome
With your saws chains, do you file or grind, and is it round or square?
Round file some day I’ll grab a square grinder and give that a go
@@RSDOutdoors I just always wondered, but now I know. THX!!! BTW, I round file also because I’m not about to get a round grinder that’s going to do a substandard job I have ZERO interest in buying a square grinder that’s going to cost me more than all 4 of the saws that I own if they were showroom perfect (which they aren’t, and some are better).
Yeah I’ll get a square chain grinder in the future I’m sure but it’s a hard bullet to bite at the costs my Oragon grinder is great for the processor but I can file my felling chains sharper by hand
@@RSDOutdoors Me also well on all counts (except for the processing). I’m just a hand splitter type of individual, but I’m not running a business either.
@@ToddAdams1234 trying everyday
RSD, you’re a hilarious individual! 😂
Lol
Nice man, I do a lot of the same stuff w/ my tractor. Just a friendly FYI, I was pushing a tree over w/ my forks on and the tree took a side ways lean and slid along the fork. I couldn't back the tractor up fast enough and the tractor started to tip over. The only thing that saved me was the tree cleared the fork before the tractor reached a point of no return. Be careful out there.
Good stuff yeah it’s a quick solution at times but it’s risky thanks for looking out and stay safe
I can’t see the piston. A lot of people run these saws with 50:1 and blame the saw when the piston or bearings burn up. Would definitely recommend a pressure test. I sold my XS 661 because I never used a 3’ bar.
ruclips.net/user/shortsy4q4rXRX4xA
This is truly awesome. just one thing the stump is to high.
just cut above skidder rash and but swell but hard to tell from this angle thanks
That’s a really good idea side winching. I’ve done things like that before, but I never had a hitch of wood behind my Taco. It was just something that I HAD TO DO to get back to “civilization” so that I could go on to do what keeps us alive! FOOD
BTW, that’s also why I put a winch on the BACK of my truck: you don’t always want to go forward.
improvise adapt overcome
Waste of money. The first thing all my new saws get is a XS sticker. I’ve never understood the the nonsense of more noise equals more power, this is a gimmick for people who don’t know any better.
lol
Is that ported
This one is stock with filter mod and a homemade header pipe
@@RSDOutdoorsthat’s just like my 372, except that I didn’t have anything done to my air intake, yet. But it DOES get some work done. I surprised a man that I’ve been doing some occasional work for and it keeps up with his 661. Considering a 20cc difference, even HE is impressed!
All about the fileing pal sharp chain wins
That saw 🪚 is cutting like new chain is on it ... Nice efficient work...
Thanks 👍 just sharpened love pine cuts like butter
Its a nice saw, the 500i. Especially with a lightweight bar. They are very thirsty though.
that is the truth seems 2 tanks with 500 is 1 tank with the 372s
Nothing like Iike a sharp chain. Nice.
I totally agree! Oregon EXL chain little soft but great edge with round file
@@RSDOutdoorsThat soft material just makes it easier to “touch up”, unfortunately it just doesn’t stay. Same problems as with soft steel in a knife. 🤨 But whadayado?!
I need the easy touch up for the dirty wood iv used most big brands and the others kill the file to fast and a rock is a rock it kills them all so easy touch up keeps me going longer
@@RSDOutdoors As an arborist, I've been using the 2 in 1 style sharpeners for the last few years and I've got to say, they are a game changer. They hit the rakers (depth gauges) and the teeth. If you ever use one, you won't leave home without it.
@@raytyre750 iv been looking at them past couple times at the shop but still haven’t pulled the trigger
Junk saw
thanks
Nice Humbolt
thanks still working on them little different then firewood poles
Max flows are the best other than a full on stack and the stock Stihl air filters are only marginally better than no filter
great info and very true statement
Man that is so satisfying!!
stay tooned there will be more
That’s still going to be an okay load at “some” mills, but you’re liable to get more for it at a small “private” style mill by someone who mostly putters around IF they already have a “customer” of sorts. Good job BTW
I’ll fill you in when it comes back it’s a last ditch effort here on my part and pines prices are up
Pinus stobus...worth about 800 bucks for a entire semi of it here
Last list I had saw log pine here was 450 a 1000 now it’s back up so hopping I have around 7000 bf here
Put a helmet on please I’ve seen some unbelievable things happen where a hard hat saved lives
I wear one when I need one thanks
Stuck The landing
10
Timber falls very nice it's worth more than the price.
prices are heading up so I'm capitalizing on it now
Like a boss.
my own boss
Good cutting. That stick falling from the sky at the end was perfect
Thanks 👍
Yeah, I wouldn't even throw those OEM filters to the dogs to fight over. I've had really good experience with my Max Flows.
good stuff pal yeah it horrible filter system stock
I noticed you didnt dog that notch out tho..
Id rather back bar or smack it with a axe smacking it with the dogs is hard on the saw
👉🇵🇷👇👇👇👇👇👇
Well, it seems to be doing well for a 90cc class saw, but it also sounds like it’s running very rich.
its going under the knife soon gunna check out the crank and cylinder
It’s going to be an “interesting” journey no matter HOW you look at it! 😮😅
oh it will be for shore
that's a Stihl of a price 😂😂
lol
good purchase
Thanks 👍
A score for 450
Thought so to
RSD, I saw the shift pattern on the knob. Is that the correct pattern for that transmission? If so, then it’s NOT a Clark 280 series transmission. Just sayin.
Not shore Todd was under the impression it was a 4 speed Clark with hi low rear end but it maybe the np540 but not completely shore
@@RSDOutdoors 10-4. I did notice that little 2spd red control switch (monkey on a pole) but MANY times, those only controlled the 2spd rear ends.
@@ToddAdams1234 correct
I think that the color is VERY AWESOME, but…everyone can’t have the same sense of taste. After all, the world would be extremely boring if WE all thought about in exactly the same way!
very true
At 9:00ish that saw is acting very dull. What’s going on with that, because it’s not like you to have a dull saw.
The tree was dulling it bad it was so dry and all the crotch pieces off camera I cut off
Hi i have a question......where do you get this unit from and how is it purchased ???.....thank you !!!
right here pal any other questions feel free to ask range-road.com/home-usa/product-catalogue/firewood-processors/
Your parking MIGHT not be adjusted properly. I’ve seen it before AS WELL AS the parking brake cable(s) might not be adjusted. IF those cables are adjusted as much as you possibly can, Napa Corporate used to sell in the stores a little piece that was use to give you ADDITIONAL adjustment beyond what the factory did. What those were really for was to accommodate for normal stretch that happen 10-15-20+ years, not to be used because of laziness.
Take a look at lucus garling brakes no cables atf fluid it’s a huge pain but I fixed the issue early after this was filmed
Stay with your Ford. Those TopKicks seemed to be “turds” all around. Your Ford is SO MUCH easier to work on and figure out WHAT is wrong!
Your so right but it’s a Cat diesel engine so like I said if it’s the good one it may be a decent 6 months to a year truck and it can pay itself off and then head down the road but the ford going good now
RSD, I’m finally here sort of early. 😮
Glad your here
I want one of those exhaust systems for my saw
its too much money for the gain lots of cheaper options
Nice
Thanks
I was doing that 20 years ago. But good job
THANKS
A farmer friend of mine just bought a 70 C60 with a 366 bbc at auction. It's in super great shape. I'd wouldn't mind having it.
I only was able to run this one about a month or so before the owner sold it but I was impressed with it the little I used it
why not leave the gate closed raise the bed, get moving then trip the gate so you don’t leave a big massive pile like that 🤷 🤦
I asked for a pile so I could add a water bar at the beginning so water would not flow down the drive way and wash a way the stone
Great question though
I just don’t understand why more people in my are don’t unload the loads for roads and such exactly as shown. After all, it’s a massive time saver when it comes to evenly spreading the load out, even if it’s not perfect.
Iv seen both sides drivers who have never done it and just make a mess then iv seen great work done aswell this guy did a great job
@@RSDOutdoors I just wish that more people (here) had the skill for doing it so that there was less time spent on tractor and such leveling it out.
I’m with you bud
RSD, I’m sure that you’ve noticed by now that pushing soupy clay around is like pushing grease around. There’s times that it seems to never go where you want it to go, and it goes lot’s of places that you don’t want it to. And final cleanup is just about 25% of the work.
Yeah luckily we don’t deal with it much here but I am hoping By spending it out it will dry and then level it out top dress then seed it down at least it’s my hope
