1200 is Huge congrats! everyone is a bit rusty when they come back to somthing after a while, dont stress it too much, just keep at it and you will improve. Let me know how you get on or if there is anything I can do to help. thanks for the support! Jacob

Very good tips! What I mainly encounter as a beginner is that I am constantly bombarded with opening tricks (like the wayward queen) when I play online. So I had to find a lot of advice to fight against these kinds of opening tricks (and Gambits). I would like to learn how to become a good chess player, but that is difficult in the beginning because many online players are mainly interested in quick victories and once they saw I didn't fall for the trick, they resigned. The advantage is that once you have survived the trick, the opponent often does not know what to do next because he has only learned the beginning of the Gambit and has no further tactics. Greetings from the Netherlands

Hi, thanks for the comment! I know how frustrating this can be, the same things happened to me when I was a beginner, if you would like I could do a video on how to avoid the most common traps. You are exactly right though once you get them out of what little opening theory they have they often crumble. What I would say for now is: 1. Keep working at it, you seem passionate about the game and that can get you very far. 2. Don’t let these people discourage you, remember that they won't improve if they keep playing like this and you will. 3. Learn from your mistakes, these opening traps often only work if you play a specific move, try to identify it with the computer and try your best to memorise it. Thanks for the support, Jacob
