@limbudilip i was surprised to see newari in miss mongol nepal but after learning that newaris are kiratis as well, it make sense. yes the newar people have finally be proven to be kirat like the rai and limbu people. they are all connected. read the Journal of Newar studies here's the link himalaya.socanth.cam.ac.uk/collections/journals/jns/pdf/JNS_07.pdf this is what it is printed in page 4 of Journal of Newar studies. "Scholars such as Dor Bahadur Bista assert that the Newar speakers lived in the Valley of Nepal from prehistoric imes (1976:16). Many also believe that the Newars are the descendants of the Kiratas who ruled Nepal before the Licchavis in the Valley. The inhabitants of eastern Nepal such as the Limbus and Raisare the descendant of the Kiratas. Linguistically, Newar, Limbu and Rai languages are classified as Tibeto-Burman languages. Newar shares some grammatical features withLimbus and Rais that justifies link with the Kiratas". pg.4

limbu dilip Also all Nepalese will be proud once they read this. It is now known why the Kiratas are very proud of their race. Do you know the symbol for Kiratas is not just bow and arrow. The main weapon of the Kiratas was the elephant. It is now well known that Kiratas was involved in the Kurukhsetra war as described in the Mahabharata epic. In the Mahabharata epic it is told that Kiratas rode on an elephant during the Kurukhsetra war. Here’s the sentence from the Mahabharat epic which gives that Kiratas rode on an elephant as they went to battle against the Pandavas. This is what Satyaki a Yadava chief on the side of Pandavas,during Kurukshetra War said " Those other elephants 700 in number, all cased in armour and ridden byKiratas, and decked with ornaments, the king of the Kiratas, desirous of his life, had formerly presented to Arjuna. These were formerly employed in doing good to Yudhisthira. Behold the vicissitudes that time brings about, for these are now battling against Yudhisthira. Those elephants are ridden by Kiratas difficult of defeat in battle. They are accomplished in fighting from elephants, and are all sprung from the race of Agni. Formerly, they were all vanquished in battle by Arjuna. They are now waiting for me carefully, under the orders of Duryodhana. Slaying with my shafts these Kiratas difficult of defeat in battle, I shall follow in the track of Arjuna (7,109)”. From this we can see that Kiratas were very civilized up to the point that they already had the knowledge to use the elephant in the war. Kirat army were also very organized and disciplined as mentioned “ The Tusharas, the Yavanas, the Khasas, the Darvabhisaras, the Daradas, the Sakas, the Kamathas, the Ramathas, the Tanganas the Andhrakas, the Pulindas, the Kiratas of fierce prowess, the Mlecchas, the Mountaineers, and the races hailing from the sea-side, were all united in battle for the purpose of the Kaurava king Duryodhana(8,73)”. The Mahabharata epic further went on to say that Kirat King was killed in the battle. “The ruler of the Kiratas died in battle(8,5)”. This is the reason why Kirat have always been proud of their race and their culture. Today Kirat emblem is the war elephant along with the bow and arrow and khukuri and kirat unique flag. Kirat history glorifies Nepal civilization as a whole. That's why we new generation Nepalese must now study about our ancient history of Nepal deeply and try to protect and promote it to the world. Also i hope the new govt. of Nepal after the new sambidhan will choose war elephant to be one of the emblems of Nepal.

The national motto of Nepal in Sanskrit “Janani Janma-bhoomi-scha Swargadapi Gariyasi" In English it is "The mother and the motherland are greater than heaven." In other word the national motto of Nepal is “Mother and Motherland are Greater than Heaven" So you see we Nepalese love our motherland Nepal more than heaven. Remember if war breaks out in the issue of Greater Nepal (return of nepali territory), Nepal and China will wipe out India and UK from the face off the planet. The right thing to do is that UK demand India to return Nepali land back to Nepal. And that India hand over nepali territory back to Nepalese. If not, Nepal should request China and Russia for help in destroying India and UK.
