Imho, Karina was the most "magical" screen presence at the time (the 60s), able to everything, the same with the superlative Jeanne Moreau. And Godard really knew how to use Karina better than anyone else did, I think. When I think of the Jeanne Moreau films from the 60s, such as Elevator to the Gallows, Jules and Jim, while I can imagine Karina in those roles, I think Moreau was the right choice. But then, the same goes for the Karina roles, I don't think Moreau could have done them as effectively. They were both magic. Honorable mention to Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot (I am only talking about French actresses - or actresses working primarily in France, so Julie Christie and Jean Seberg are another story).
I love her soft voice and big expressive eyes. She held her own with the rude interviewer and told it straight. What a great lady, from the beginning on. If I wasn't so old I would try to learn French, I realized late in life what a great language. And be able to understand interviews with French actresses, watch French movies without subtitles, listen to French singers like Francoise Hardy without having to look up translations to the words.
Backbiting, slandering and gossiping is only inviting trouble. Poor Anna Karina, if only the media would have stopped promoting those lies. Shame on them. Hope she overcame this and came out stronger 💪
The interviewer seemed to be pizzed off that he was not in the position of gerard and for that he wanted to know "how the F* did he get you?! Tell me! Explain!"
I loved this interview, interviewer and interviewee, but after revisiting it through comment section I can see how some women can find the interviewer sexist but if he has this style with everybody then he is by definition, not. I think these kinds of conversational interviews are pretty rare nowadays and it was quite nice to see. Even in podcasts people don't interview and converse like these. It just seems very little boundary between the two and freedom to indulge deeper into psyche like "friends".
What was the deal with interviewers back then? The creepier the better? Cause I saw some Marylin and Audrey interviews and they were creepy as well and the interviewer was asking the most absurd questions!!

In her eyes, I find the reflection of my soul's deepest yearnings.
I always thought Anna Karina was a Russian novel by Tolstoy. I never heard of this actress until now.

Yes that interviewer was drudged up from the sewer with a mind of manure. Anna rocked!

She`s very charming woman
El físico de esta actriz siempre me ha recordado al de la modelo Kate Moss.
Je ne sais pas qui est cette femme mais qu´est ce quelle est belle.
What's her OnlyFans?
Interviewers are supposed to let their guest actually speak, he loves the sound of his own voice too much.
No idea who this preson is. And I don't care enough to google her.
It's so cringe, the interviewer. I can't
wow she was so normal in her replies... awesome.
Pretty sure this fella’s jerking it to the narrative he’s framing with his questions.
Wow. She resembles a lot like Monica Bellucci. Very beautiful and classy.
just like me
Naomi Campbell favors her a little.
I see her holding a cigarette but not smoking it. I wonder why.
3:13 “to be his leading lady and GIRLFRIEND” Jesus Christ.
What a trashy little liar.
