AM1013 Octave Fixed Filter Bank - Band Pass Perfection

AM1028 Sequential Volts - Expand your Behringer 1027 Sequencer

AMSynths expands the B1027 sequencer with an additional column of eight steps of control voltage. The included 12-way ribbon cable connects the two modules internally. CV outputs of 2V and 10V ranges are available. The 2V output is ideal for VCO's and can be patched via a quantizer (used in the video). The 1028 was envisaged by ARP in 1970 but never manufactured until now.

Seven modules are in development with release dates from May 2023. AMSynths plan to release a new range of Eurorack modules in 2023 inspired by the Roland 100M. Thsi video provides an overview of the first five modules that are in development. They are a combination of original modules being reworked and expanded, prototypes replicated and many new ideas. These accurate designs, that use high quality components, will truly inspire new electronic music.

The 8176 will be on sale in the webstore at the end of November along with the 2500 version with plain panel - the 1076. I will post a demo video as soon as they are in stock.
very noisy
The idea is very good. But only the waveform single outputs in 2 HP would be enough for me (like the one from "Euro Utilities" which does not require any power). Why? Because I can mix the waveforms in my other mixer modules, which can also be used as mixers for other signals, not only for waveforms of one particular VCO. Apart from that, this module takes a lot of space (especially if you buy several of them) and also some power because it contains a mixer for one single purpose which I don't actually need.
The 1004P is an extra 6HP with alot of advantages - it provides each waveform at the correct 10V level, which the Euro Utilities 2HP does not. It uses the same internal connection and does not require 5 patch cables into a mixer. The 1004P is ready built with a daughter board that makes installation on the back of the 1004 secure, there are no flying leads to break and no jack sockets to solder in. Its power consumption (at less than 20 mA) is not going to break the power supply.

@@amsynths oh HELL yes! Us lower-income/parent hobbyists love you for this, and hopefully some other module kits come back as well. On-topic; is this beauty a faithful recreation, or is it a hybrid/improvement on the base-circuits from the KORG PS or Roland Triple Resonators?
@@goonfish its an accurate replica using Vactrols but with extra features such as adjustable resonance, external frequency inputs and level controls. The module uses high quality capacitors which contribute to the beautiful sound.
I'm planning to buy 2 of these soon to make up for selling a scratch built 2u rack dual version of the Ems filter bank I made years ago & recently sold to someone in Germany who said it was the best eq he'd heard. As far as I know it was unique. I had thought about the analogue systems but unlike my build & the AM version it lacks the separate outs. Also the AM is a lot prettier to look at! I'm curious that the ARP design is almost identical to the EMS, how that came about or which came first. Anyone know the story of that? Incidentally I couldn't see a bypass on the circuit diagram & wasn't sure how to do it noiselessly so on each channel I wired dual pots as to combine a mix balance control with bypassing at one extreme, marked bypass on the panel, which to my amazement worked! I also added a simple vu meter to each side.
I built a few rack mount clones before putting the circuit into Eurorack. It is a great filter/eq that Klaus Sculze used in the mid 1970’s. I dont know for sure what the original ARP design would have been but its unlikely they would clone the Moog version wth inductors. Given they adopted Op Amps very early its likely they would have gone the EMS route, the gyrator op amp circuit was available published in IEEE in June 1969, so this ties in nicely with the ARP plans to expand the 2500 in 1970. The authors were at Minneapols University.

great stuff.. I use Cherry Audio's 2500 emulation in Voltage Modular and they have included some of these "lost" modules and it brings a lot of fun to the system.

It would be good not to have to buy Behringer products to get a working new version of a 2500, but your connection to that project is the rub. While they may have paid you, they have ignored both the people who own the trademarks and worked on the originals and the people who did license the copyrights and hire the people for remakes of later ARP synthesizers. The company simply appropriated everything, as usual, and defies people to sue him. It's not just the patents, which are fair enough to use, even for such a large company. It's appropriating the look and naming and trading on the overall work of others without compensation, repeatedly and without regard for decency. In your case, you present the modules in a fairly standard form, at a small scale, for apparent interest in the work the inventors put into the products. Of course you did aid the monstrous company that raids the work of others and appropriates rights, whether or not they have legally expired. So, given that background, it is hard to decide whether this more-modest "tribute" raises the same ethical challenges. Clearly this doesn't present all the outrage the B company does, especially considering the previously unreleased modules and your crediting of the developers, but still. I have a deep affection for the 2500 and ARP. It seems clear enough you do as well. For me, these issues will require more thought.

Dennis was actually fired by Alan for refusing fixing contacts on returned string machines he during design had warned Alan would fail. Now both are dead and all their anger and animosity is fading into the sun like the dust of angels. Burns quite well, like gasoline into a BBQ!

I like that Cherry Audio incorporated a few of these in their software emulation for Voltage Modular. Your page has always been such a great resource for this stuff .
Cherry Audio have done a great job, 1019, 1026 and 1042 with overdrive on the VCAs. The vertical design for the 1042 is likely to be accurate to the original, but hard to fit in eurorack. Hope the video inspires more modules from Cherry!

The 1035 and 1040 modules will drop next week. The other 4 will drop during May - July. There are also some additional surprises planned; for example the 1004P expansion module for the B1004 to provide indiviual waveform mixing.

The 1031 prototype is sounding good, next stage is production pcbs and panel. However it is 6-8 weeks away, so that it can be launched with exciting new control knobs that are being manufactured in the USA. There will be more filters added in the summer in the 2500 style, diode, resonantors, vintage ladder.
@@amsynths How would you compare the 1031 sound and topology to something like a SEM filter?
@@NickHchaos The 1031 has voltage controlled resonance and a more complex damping cicruit than the SEM. Neither self oscillate by themselves, but by adding a CV into the 1031 QCV input and putting resonance at max, it will break into self oscillation. The 1031 has trimmers to adjust the Q behaviour in LP and HP modes and faster Op Amps . The more complex damping gives a smoother sound as Q is increased. I do have a SEM here, so I will try and video a comparison (along with a B1047).
