The project name for the ship in shipyard is ICON III. There are some rumors that the official name could be "Legend of the Seas," but that’s just a rumor, and nothing official has been confirmed yet.

I would be surprised if they named it that, because they used to have a ship named Legend of the Seas. It got taken out of the fleet in I believe 2017.

@ The Bella cabins are usually in undesirable locations such as right at the top front.. Fantastica cabins, however, have the best mid-ship locations..

Turussa voi käydä katsomassa keskeneräistä laivaa 🤭.. Tuo virgin voyages laiva olisi siistiä myös Helsingissä joskus Icon / Staf of the Seas :lla olisi kiva käydä risteilemässä, mutta halvemmalla pääsee esim Wonder of the Seas:lle… joka on vain hieman pienempi 😏..

You’re welcome! I am going next year to our first Caribbean cruise with Wonder of the seas. But someday I want also try Icon class ship 😍

I was on Utopia the following week where I was told the during that same week icons propulsion systems failed and is currently dry docked until next year for repairs. A lot of icons passengers for that trip ended up on utopia.

So interested to see the differences I hope they bring the pesky parrot that’s on utopia

We left the ship about mid-afternoon, almost as soon as we docked in Santorini and the ship leaves Santorini about in about 11pm..we booked this really well in advance, because these seem to be popular and the places filled up quickly... this is of course a fairly reasonably priced excursion

⁠@@kuffadronethank you! Great video, lots of great info. We just booked the same excursion with bus transfer but scheduled for the 4pm departure. 90 minutes does seem short for Oia. May I ask what a few questions: -where did the bus drop you off/pick up in Oia? Same place? -what time did you return to the boat after exploring Fira? TIA!

Yes, off/pick up is from the same place.. it's about a 5-10 min walk to the Church of Panagia. You can see the place if you look at Oia - Tour buses on google maps. There is a parking area. For us, the return started by bus about an hour after we arrived in Fira. But there was an option to stay in Fira and return to the ship yourself using the cable ride.. The guide distributes the tickets. But, I can promise that, the guide will give good instructions during the bus trip. You are sure to have a great day in Santorini.
