Mark Diggs - Vietnam Veteran Interview
Просмотров 13 тыс.2 года назад
A detailed interview of a Vietnam Combat Veteran's experiences as an US Army Filed Artillery Forward Observer and Firing Battery Executive Officer. The interview include his experience as the Executive Officer during the 23 day siege of Fire Base Pace where there were 66% casualties. Also provides personal history before enlistment and reflections on the war itself after 50 years.
The year in vietnam starts in 1971. Just so you know. Lam Son 719 starts in Feb/1971.
Indeed it did .. and I was in that campaign at Khe Sahn as an FO with a Mechanized Infantry unit. That was my first action during a pretty active year.
God bless this man, and god bless Arkansas . My mother lives in walnut ridge, my sister in Jonesboro, I live in Bryant Arkansas!❤
Thank you for viewing my interview of my Vietnam experiences. I was born and raised in Jonesboro. Love Walnut Ridge. I am living in Little Rock now - go to church in Bryant.
Good man Mark. God bless you, welcome home.
Thank you!
Good interview very strong humble man upmost respect .
Thank you for your comment. God has a way of keeping one humble.
Thanks for sharing best wishes for you and family
Thank you
God bless you, Mark. Thank you for your service to our country!
Indeed I am blessed by God. I was proud to have served and it was an honor and privilege beyond description to have lead brave men in combat. Many are gone but not forgotten.
@@maddog4376 I will never forget the brave service of our Vietnam veterans. You are loved, respected and honored. Thank you again.
Glad you made it home Mark. I was a Forward Observer in the 1st 14th Artillery, assigned for 7 months to the 1st 46th infantry of the 198th Light Infantry Brigade. I worked in the mountains 30 miles southwest of Danang. Many of your experiences parallel mine.
Thank you for your service and "Welcome Home!" I would not take a million dollars for the experience or would I do it again for 100 million. I only hope some of the people seeing the video take the "lessons I learned" and do all they can to keep from getting into needless no end no clear objective wars like you and I experienced.
A very candid interview,I'm glad this is recorded so everyone can listen to this man's wisdom . A brave man indeed .
Thank you for watching. I hope the "lessons learned" I shared that applies to all wars will prevent those seeking to "rush to war" or "nation build" from unnecessarily send our young men and women in needless wars or cover operations.
