Thanks! I have not yet heard the term starbucks bikes 🤔😆. For sure is it better for most riders to ride around on a lighter bike for a couple years to build their skills instead of fighting the power of the bike for years. Anyhow i love the xv platform and would love to get into racing them.. for now just free riding trackdays though 🔥

@@sreeter01 Awesome! You definitely should! Reliability is no issue if u fix the few weak points and keep urself to the maintenance schedule. Tbis is my third year riding it and havent had real issues yet. Some of the things you should look at: - 2006-2007 models need new sealant between the engine cases, if there is orange sealant. - The oring of the water pump tends to leak - The starter system needs an upgrade, i recommend a stronger starter motor from Michele Gugliemo and a new sprag and a good battery - Buy an xv tuner cable, make sure the mapping and tps are good - Use the right oil and dont overfill it.. and for trackriding replace it every 5 hours - Make sure the oil flow valve is there and in good shape - Check for extreme heat and leakages.. yes this is a race engine and it gets hot.. but glowing headers 2 mins after starting shouldnt happen (can indicate the throttle bodies need syncing for instance) There is quite a few (more) things u need to be aware of but the engine itself is strong.. its just sensitive to abnormalities and maintenance. Then for modifications for trackriding.. different forks, caliper, shorter swingarm and 16.5inch front wheel make the most difference. Just ride with the standard supermoto slicks, even though 180 rear fits it rides like shit with it. If you need more in depth help just hit me up!(Instagram dm works best @2Wheeledd)

@@2Wheeledd I looked it up the 360 technology seems just like the holy grail of motorcycle action cams. I'll need one. 😎 I'm from Germany. I always wanted the SXV because it's my dream bike since it first discussions in the magazines 2005. Now I own two (and one even in the VDB configuration, pistons, camshafts, engine block...). 😎

Recovery will be 100% luckily, but it will take 6-8 weeks time. Anyways, nice riding & sound of the sxv !

This is a 2006 sxv550, full vdb spec. Sadly enough all sxv’s are old since they havent been made for over a decade 🥲

Do you mean in the first laps? When my slipperclutch is cold it disengages when i am braking 🙃

​@@2WheeleddDoes all slipper clutches work that way? Once I was thinking about installing one on my 990 smt but shit is expensive and needed only when road os wet or tires cold.

Sad to hear, the bikes and the engines are great! The few having problems are just shouting harder than the majority riding them no problems. They need proper maintenance but when you do, you can enjoy them. Been riding mine for 3 years now, it never let me down once 🔥

I have an 450 VDB. Im doing an engine rebuild on it currently so im borrowing the parts onto my sxv untill the vdb engine is done 🔥🙃 If you want help upgrading your sxv let me know, i can come by many parts. Dm me on instagram if you want 🙌

I have not had it on a dyno yet but i do have a full titanium exhaust and modified high flow intake and a custom mapping.. so guessing around 80hp on the wheel

It's not about the horsepower with these bikes - it's the torque. The only problem with these is they need constant servicing and rebuilding. Great bikes but high maintenance. And, of course, they sound immense 😁😁😁😁😁😁

@@justanothernoobe sxv has similar maintenance schedules to any other supermoto/mx bike.. most bikes need piston replaced at 30-50 hours.. sxv can do 100-120 hours on their pistons.. you have two though 😆

I have been doing trackdays with that bike for almost 3 years now and the bike has not let me down once 🔥🙌 Had an empty fuel tank once, had a broken killswitch once and had a worn out sprag once.. the engine has been running amazing though

Yhh the difference is insane, other bikes weigh the same but the sxv has 30 hp more.. only the newest and tuned bikes get anywhere near the power of an sxv

People mostly use the mxv for conversion (smxv it will be then).. rxv can also be converted no problem, i got an full sxv frontend and rims if you like.. that would get you almost there already 🔥🙌 Keep in mind the xv platform requires some heavy maintenance and if you cannot do this yourself it will get expensive to own.. in 2 years of riding em i havent had real problems yet though 🔥

Depends on your gearing.. with stock gearing it tops out around 120 mph.. it has plenty power to go faster though
