I'm sorry, but I think that the OP(IDK what that means) is lying; he literally said that he wasn't abusive, but the judge ruled in his favor & admitted that they had evidence against him. It would take a serious amount of evidence to prove this case, which indicates that he was abusive & if they were lying, he could've sued for defamation. If they were following him then why didn't he call the police or at least get a restraining order, which doesn't take much evidence. Why would they stand there in the rain when he drove off? That sounds more like a movie than reality. If they sided with the ex then it had to have been for a reason; his brother said that he threatened him in order to pay. Why would they going to him financially if he said no constantly? He said that he didn't have to pay alimony for a divorce due to fact that she cheated; alimony is court ordered & if she had cheated like he said, she would've been ordered to pay him not the other way around. He said that they threatened to sue him, but he just decides to pay alimony; alimony isn't used to pay for child support. It's an agreement to pay after a divorce is settled. He said that they agreed to testify on his side after he told them the story; no judge is going to take their word if they weren't present & personally I believe that the kid is his not his brother's otherwise the brother would've been ordered to pay child support by law. He said that he was gathering evidence to stop the alimony & it's also paid after a divorce is settled. If you're in court bad experiences with past family members aren't relevant in a divorce cases because it's settled between you & your spouse. How would he have video of evidence of everything his family did? If the family abused him then that's a criminal case not a civil one; a divorce is a civil case. If he grabbed him then he could sue him for aggravated assault & said that his said that he would never amount to anything when he was living better than him. That makes no sense whatsoever. You can fact check me if you want to; I don't blame you, but some people in general don't tell the truth whether IRL or online & I believe that this one of them.

From Amy’s perspective she really got dealt a bad hand. Her father doesn’t sound like a great person but in his defense he lost a wife and his daughter was left with severe challenges. Another way to look at it is that she is fortunate that her father is successful enough to provide her with the best care. There are people with similar challenges who don’t have access to the same resources. OP sounds like a great person and for what it’s worth I’m glad he made a new friend. She sounds like an idiot. She's 34, and found a man willing to have a serious talk about marriage and children after only a two year relationship. That was probably her last chance. Even if she met the guy and it worked out, most men are going 4-5+ years of dating, living together, engagement, a year after marriage, etc. before risking kids. That puts near nearly 40. She's also likely going to start running into men who are older, divorced, already have children, etc. And of course, if this guy could retire at 34 and has a family willing to give him a house... he's already in the top 1% and there is no way she's likely to find this again. Finally, her no-prenup reasons are stupid. She doesn't want to live in a house she doesn't own... yet is fine renting one.
