After replacing the gas valve , you didn’t check for gas leaks nor analyser checks and gas rates !! Not good encouragement for non registered DIY attempts 😢

There is actually a recall on these fuel flaps as they tend to malfunction due to water coming inside them. My original part number was A0008205003, so if you replace it make sure you get part number A0008208312 (revision) because that is the where they fixed that issue. I had mine replaced last month, but it was on backorder waiting for the revised model in the Netherlands since May 2024.

There is an emergency button for those occasions, it is called TPV. It is suitable for A Class W177 and CLA class C118, I am not sure if Mercedes is using in another model. It is possible to access this emergency button from the trunk. Pull the carpet off and insert your arm towards the fuel lid. When you reach the actuator check all sides of it, you are going to feel a soft rubber on one of its sides. Push it and it will release the fuel lid. This part usually gets malfunctioning due to excess of water during washing. After washing your car open the fuel lid and dry it as soon as possible.

There is a secret button on the opposite side of the pin, under the sign TPV. I found it when I already destroyed everything😂

Hello mate, great video keep it up the good work. If you didn’t know already, on the Vaillant boiler casing, where the model name is, that bit comes off, can push it up and they normally have the GC no and serial number on the other side 👍🏽

are there two different models then? Mine can only be opened from a release button in my door. Yours is a manual clicking one by hand. i have corrosion inside the switch, going to get a new one tomorrow, atleast i hope they have the part.

Hey @rikstrixs. Really helpful video. But can you tell us how you managed to open the fuel cap at the start of the video. I assume it wouldn't open, hence you had to replace the mechanism.

Why would you not show how you opened the flap????? We heard and saw you tapping the flap and then you cut the video!!! The most difficult part of this process for anyone is how to get the the FLAP open!!!! Please add this most important information. 🙏
