Просмотров 3668 лет назад
A pioneering new program we've been building for our young hockey players right here in Riverview. Among the first Minor Hockey Associations in Canada to roll this out to help our young Initiation (IP) kids enter into hockey in a much more positive way where they will not only develop better and faster but also have so much more fun in the process.

I understood what the director wanted. The director's version sounded better and Shatner's was very flat, one tone. I don't know why the comment section is praising Shatner, when he went on an ego trip.

Say what you will about Shatner....he's still sharp as a tack, cunning and can turn a situation to his advantage. He's still talented at this advantaged age.

I like it, but I really think Shatner should have let the guy off the hook sooner. The producer had been put in his place, relented, and BS still kept the heat on the guy.

Shatner's first take was excellent, but the guy in the studio made the mistake of criticizing what he didn't really understand. Shatner is a talent, but he can have a mean streak when jesting. As I recall, in one scene in the original Star Trek, one of the actors was to slap Kirk on his back as a sign of goodwill, but the guy let rip and really gave a hard slap. The extras standing behind tried to hide their laughter -- they obviously though he had it coming.

To be fair, the producer did sound a little more excited when he said the word "amazed". Also, it's fair that they wanted him to sound more excited and then when Shatner did the second take, he did not sound more excited.

The funny thing is, the way the Director did it was exactly how Shatner did it the first time with an emphasis on one word. Which is exactly how Shatner did it the second time. This guy deserved to have his ass handed to him. Quite frankly, because he didn’t know what he wanted out of Shatner, but spoke up anyways. Which was Shatner‘s point. If you’re going to direct, then direct with direction. Don’t just say this or do that, understand what the client wants out of the session and give it to them by explaining it clearly to the actor. This is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever heard.

That was awesome! There was a Memphis guitarist named Reggie Young who played on countless sessions & hit records (everyone from Elvis to Wilson Pickett to Willie Nelson) who moved to Nashville & charged four times the going union rate for a session musician. Because if a producer wanted Reggie Young, they’d pay four times more. Then Young would get on the session & the producer would tell him how to play. You can tell any guitar player how to play & pay him 4 times less! Point is, why hire Reggie Young or Shatner of you don’t want them to do what they do!

Shatner must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed because he's being a p**ck and making things unnecessarily difficult for an inexperienced voice director. Shatner must have known what the director wanted and just simply refused to give it to him. Shatner's first take was like he was inviting someone to a fireside chat. Clearly that's not what the director was expecting, but then didn't explain himself well. What he wanted was a spiel like Shatner was advertising an upcoming football match or barking at a carnival. He asked Shatner to be more excited on the next read through. Shatner wasn't, he simply read it faster. Shatner then decided to be a troll and get the director to do voice work as an example, knowing full well that it would be awful. Shatner then did a very good job at repeating the read through in the same manner with just a hint of parody and increased awkwardness. The director was very right in asking if Shatner was making fun of him because that was exactly what he was doing. Shatner then steps up the trolling to unprofessional levels. At this point if the director had any experience or authority he would have asked Shatner to calm down or come back another day, or simply not come back at all. But he couldn't do that and Shatner knew it.
