Hi Trevor, in This Amt kit do you happen to know the cubic inch and horsepower in the Tri Carb Nailhead? Thanks for video Trevor, Your my Go To on kit reviews
The engine is a 1960 Buick Nailhead.
Check out this video I made where I built the engine. Not sure if I mentioned it or not since this video is a few years old. ruclips.net/video/-l-dEKYA37A/видео.html
Thanks Again Trevor, Much Appreciated

I have the 65 AMT GTO model and the 66 Revell GTO model that is what I was going to try just got to get my nerve up to do it
Good luck an😺d I hope you have some fun there!
I have a release from the 80's and it has several of those hood clips
Nice. I tried to install one of those and it went flying across the room after I opened the hood. I'm not sure how they were designed to stay in place.
@@monsterhobbies same here tried it once, I guess that's why there's so many extra in that kit
@@brianlewis6926 lol
I wish they would make a 1966 Convertible GTO I had one when I was in High School wish I still had it sold it to get a 1972 Nova the dumbest thing I ever did
I believe Revell has a 1966. I imagine that if you got one of these kits and the Revell kit, that you could cut the roof off the Revell kit and use the convertible parts from the 1965 to make your car.
Revell makes a 66 hard top that probably could be made it a convertible, yep I would take a 66 GTO over a 72 nova
@@brianlewis6926 My Dad worked for the telephone company as a draftsman and had to go out in the field to work. He said the company cars were Chevy Novas, bare bones, with no power steering and they were hard to steer. He never liked them.
Very enjoyable video! Thanks for showing the details of this kit. It's got a nice amount of parts. I built hundreds of these kits as a youngster and really enjoyed it. I actually became a mechanic & those model instructions really help understand a vehicle. The radiator by the way is molded into what's called a "core support" which makes sense... There's also tire decals available I just found out
Very cool! Model cars also lead me in automotive directions. I made honor roll in my high school for mechanics, got a scholarship for Autobody collision repair as well. Never made a career out of it though. - reasons!
@@monsterhobbies great! I got away from turning wrenches because of the back strain
I was trained, but no one would help me get my apprentice papers. I ended up doing other things and eventually opening a hobby store and making these videos.
I had a 74 Corolla back in high school, loved that little car. Yep 1600cc engine. It was funny when i pulled it into my auto body class and they looked at the engine. They had never seen a hemi engine like that. I told them they i found an old 426 hemi with a cracked block. Then i cut off the cracked side and welded a plate to it. Almost half the class believed me 😂😂. A lot of fun with that car for sure
That's funny about the Toyota Hemi. Mine could pull up hills faster than my friend's front wheel drive 1976 VW Rabbit.
You and I seem to have shared a similar path. I took automotive in high school and later autobody in college. We both had this Toyota. - Now we're making RUclips videos on model cars. Strange, isn't it?
@@monsterhobbies and don't forget we both have videos of the 70s Japanese girls, even though I didn't post mine yet lol. All I need now is my own hobby shop! 😁
@@pappytinkers Yes. I need one too! LOL!
I agree, whoever painted them is amazing! I'll wait a couple weeks before posting my vid of painting these girls. They build up very nice fur sure. The links didn't show up again, now i gotta find the Levin vid on my own lol
Ah...I know why the links are not showing up. I have 3 youtube channels and I originally made these videos for my Monster Hobbies Model Car Garage channel. The links were included on that channel. but I didn't post them on this one. I'll have to go through my end screens over here and sort it out.
Is Revell still around?
Yes, very much so. ..but the story is complicated.
It was quite easy to cut the glass down and fit it more accurately👍😃
For sure. IDK why it needs to wrap up so far in the headliner.
So do I. Initially,I really thought I had the wrong glass sprue,😧🤣🤣
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 It is odd.
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Did you get to see my video on the model car contest? - I'm trying a new concept that I hope helps some model builders out there.
No I didn't watch the competition video. I thought it must be relevant to real Canadian show entries
This model certainly was an unexpected journey, Bilbo 😀. Every stage has a new problem 😧😁.I don't think I have any rear chassis fit problem except it wobbles about. I've put in plates that support and centralised the chassis to body fit👍🤔. I've finally got onto engine and exhaust on one and nearly finished widebody changes😧😃👍😎
Good luck Pete! You never really built it out of the box....and for this kit to have so many issues just on that level is incredible. I can't imagine what you are going through with all your customizing when 95% of the basic kit parts have to be modified just to get it together BOX STOCK. - Talk about an impossible kit!
I didn't see the link pop up at the end. I looked at this kit the other day, but i didn't get it, because i needed a real one lol
Nice. Ah...did I forget a link? darn it. I just released my video on model car contests. Have a look for it on this channel.
@@monsterhobbies I have trouble with those things too. It just so happens that there's contest I'm going to next weekend lol
Nice. Hope you can catch the video. I thought it would do better, but it seems to have flat-lined.
@@monsterhobbies I've watched about half so far and will watch the other half today or tomorrow. Was Danny the Dog the secret thing you were gonna try? I laughed when I saw it, I try to keep my dogs out of my vids and you bring one in! Lol 😆
@@pappytinkers Danny makes appearances in many of my videos. - No, the video on building for contests was the new thing. I use Danny in videos where I need to be talking to someone, since no one in the rest of my family wants to be on video...plus, I can control what he says...he is my puppet after-all!
When my friends are out partying and getting laid and I’m sitting here doing this.
Sitting here doing what? Watching my videos? Yeah man, you need to get yourself some kind of social life, for sure. Have you ever tried talking to women? It isn't that hard you know. Some of them may even have the same interests as you. You just never know until you actually try. I've been married over 20 years, we have a good house and fairly new car, and I have kids as well. In my spare time, I make these RUclips videos and they pay me for it. Go figure!
I had one. Right hand drive. Interesting to drive after a couple of beers.
Right hand drive? That's interesting. I didn't know these were exported.
The '57-'58 Broughams were probably the first "factory Supercars"... At over $13,000 USD MSRP, they were certainly the most expensive factory built car of the era, more expensive than a Rolls Royce! Also... Do remember that the most outstanding feature of the 57-58 Brougham was it's brushed stainless steel roof... I'm sure that would probably be hard to replicate with paint alone. Cadillac went on to offer the Eldorado Brougham through 1959 and 1960, although those were more or less just specially bodied standard Cadillacs. The bodies for them were built by Pininfarina in Italy, and resemble closely what the 1961 standard Cadillac body looked like... But they were much more luxuriously appointed and they were of course hand finished. Cheers!
Thank you for the extra information. Always great to learn more!
Looks good
Thank you. It will be a fun one to build, for sure.
I wonder how much it would take to make like doc
Doc is an earlier Hudson...1951-1953...but don't worry. Moebius has that one too.
This looks like quite a nice kit for the truck lovers out there, the addition of a go-kart is pretty cool! Good review!
It sure is! I also have the first edition of this kit from the late 1990's - early 2000's. The first edition didn't have the Go-Cart and only licence plates as the decals.
Great kit to build, I built the tray truck version some time back. Tricky but fun build. Cheers JV
Cool, thanks! I will have to try it sometime.
How on earth can there be a colour called Tartan Turquoise 😲🤣🤣
Very thin, color matching stripe pattern.

Awesome! Thank you! I have a lot of other videos as well. I have been doing this for a few years. When you have a chance, please check out my other builds and don't forget to click the notification bell so you don't miss an upcoming episode.
That's an interesting one Trevor, a mixture of simple enough for a beginner, but i couldn't help but considering what it would take to open the tailgate, or turn it into a half top. Either way i think it's a great subject! I thought i had given you a sub long time ago? But i hit that fixed 😁
No worries Pappy Tinkers. It's a good kit. Still wish I had my earlier edition though.
Can't get this beautiful kit in Canada...I would love to build this. Love the scale too!
I own a hobby shop in Canada - in Alberta. I can bring the Bedford drop side truck and the tipper truck in for you by request. www.monster-hobbies.ca Let me know if you are serious and we can work something out.
Good review, I almost got this kit on eBay a few weeks ago.
Nice! If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Good review, I can see myself building this as a rally racer. If you're wondering about the little number decals, those are window decals and I do believe that has to do with the prefecture the car is registered in, my friend Greig explained that in a video he made a little while ago. I have some of those decals that strangely came with a Bburago all metal kit of the Shelby Cobra 427 I sadly lost in a move many years ago.
Thanks for the info!
My first car and lived it!!
Nice! I hope you are enjoying this series.
Paint looks good,Trevor 👍😎I have covered the remnants of the posts with panels on one car and totally replaced the radiator in the widebody version👍😎Pete 🤓 I do want to get a third one for a future project👍👍😀
Yes, I was watching your videos on it. I even left a comment! 🤓🤑👋
This is a very well done video. I've built this car a few times. The body presents well for a shelf model. I did make one change, that being the tires/wheels. I used the tires/wheels from the Revell/Monogram 53 Corvette, and placing the Cadillac hubcap on them. They make a much more realistic appearance than the plastic tires. Thanks for sharing.
I am glad you liked the video and thank you for the tire tip.
I've had this kit in my stash for years, it's so nicely detailed and finely cast. I'm terrified to start it, I don't think I could do it justice.
I hope that when I make the build video on it that you will find that and watch my "Walk Through". Hopefully I can help make it less scary for you if I build it first.
Hey PB you could always send it south of the border. Cheers JV
The Autronic Eye was used to dip the headlights to prevent dazzling oncoming cars at night. It worked pretty well and was used under licence by other manufacturers until the introduction of reflective road signs which really confused the system and have it constantly flashing the lights on and off.
Thank you for the history. Thank you for watching the video.
Young Ronald Martinez Sandra Brown Jennifer
Thank you for watching the video.
My Dad had a "Green Hornet" with the Dual Carb's. We lived just North of Boston. On Cool, Wet Rainy Days my Dad would say that that car was the Most Cold Blooded Car that he ever owned! I was only about 5 years old at the time so I only remember that we had a Green car.
Very cool! I have heard a few stories from my parents about other cars that didn't like the cold either. My 1973 Toyota Corolla was bad on rainy days too. Moisture would get into the distributor and mess with the sparks.
Cleveland petroleum has been known as Esso since the early 1950s, one of the best known British brands. Bradford was at the heart of huge textile district that exported clothing and fabric to the world. It looks like a great kit and a real period piece.
Thank you. We have Esso here. Interesting to know that history.
I have this kit in my stash..When i purchased it in 2016 for $59.99 US and now it goes for $94.79..I wish i bought the other versions back then..smh
It is a good kit, highly detailed. I can get a few of the trucks in from my hobby wholesaler.
"Today we are in jolly old England" he says, pointing to the flag of the United Kingdom behind him. England and the United Kingdom are not synonymous, even though England makes up just over 85% of the population of the UK, while forming less than 54% of the land mass.
Thank you for that. Maybe I should have mentioned Scotland, Wales and Ireland too?
I'm going to need 4,000,000 finish it friday's lol
Start at the beginning and work your way to the end. That's what I am doing and I am finding a lot of projects in various stages of completion.
That’s a great looking kit!!! Lots of parts.
I think so too! It should really challenge the builder, that's for sure! (And the builder is me! LOL.)
I have the police car offering of this kit, plan to put Gotham PD logos on it. The taxi option sounds fun and if you're wondering, the futuristic airport in the background is LAX in California and it's still there! Good review!
Thank you so much. That would look great for the 1966 Batmobile to be near. I should see about getting another of these kits and just building it as a base model family sedan
Another great automotive detail set, I'd name the mechanics Larry and Zig. The payphone AMT put in the kit would have been an antique back in the '70s, I'm not sure a car repair shop would have used a 1930s era payphone but if it works, it works!
I thought that was a 1950's pay phone. Actually on the decal sheet, there is a poster or calendar from 1948. The phone would probably fit that era.
Random question… Does any manufacturer make any Xfinity series cars? I’ve been watching your videos so much I made your own save folder lol keep em comin
I think it's Salvinos Jr Models that make those. Thank you for the folder.
That old quart of paint is a cool find!!
Totally. It was just sitting there on the shelf. Glad my sister didn't throw it out. - And that it's still useable, although it takes about a week for the paint to dry. It will be going on a few cars in the future.
That gives a whole new meaning to flow time… 😂😂
for sure
Nice! My High School ride was a 68 GT with a 390. Boy, do I miss that ride.
Right on! I enjoy these stories.
@@monsterhobbies My step brother totaled it while I was in Basic Training. I bought another 68 when I got stationed at Ft. Hood, unfortunately it was grossly under powered with a 302 2bbl.
@@mattfulmer4243 Too bad about the car. I saw one today, a 1969 Fairlane that was a medium metallic blue with a cream vinyl top and matching hub caps and it had a huge sunroof installed.
Good evening Trevor. The fun continues👍😃. Exhaust fix is good. Paint can is excellent 👍😃60 yr old paint. 🤔
Glad you enjoyed it. It takes about 3 weeks for that paint to dry. No rush though, right? You are going to love my build of the pink 1953 Ford Truck and 1969 Dodge Super Bee when they release.
@@monsterhobbies I think 3 weeks would be a bonus. Heaven even. 3 weeks without seeing one of these blooming models🤣. What a can of worms this has been. 😧😃
Totally. This is why I am working on the pink truck and the 69 Super Bee.
Great kit 👍🏿
