Very cool. Might visit here on a trip to London next month.
Really cool place mate! You’ll love it :)
I love mine. One key feature I love about mine is that when I go to concerts, it warns me to wear ear-protection when decibel levels get too high.
Yeah that’s great! Mine sometimes tells me I’m in a loud environment if I’m drying my hands with the air dryer thingies 🤦♂️
Good old fairlop waters
Have you tried Garmin? I wonder how the comparison would be from your perspective, mainly climbing.
Hey I haven’t had the chance yet, my friends who climb with garmin do swear by it :)
Hi Ben, really nice video and good app recommendations I’m going to check out Redpoint for sure! Totally agree with you on the strap choice, the trail loop is I find the comfiest as well as being secure and easily adjustable 👍
Aww thanks, glad it was helpful! Still not got around to getting the trail loop, been rocking a strap from Nomad for the last couple of months, seems to do a very good job, but yeah trail loop is where it’s at I think :) Redpoint is well worth it, only wish they added GPS tracking, for when out and doing more trad in the mountains. Have you used any other apps for climbing?
Not specifically for climbing but I really like an app called ‘zones’ for tracking workouts 👍
@pbproclean cheers! I’ll check it out :)
Really enjoyed this, nice one! As a rock climber (but never ice) and having tried to capture a bit of footage I can appreciate how challenging it can be to come up with varied content that's not just bum shots and belays, or shaky action cam footage, so much respect for keeping it engaging throughout. Had a great feel to it. Subbed and look forward to seeing more of your adventures!
Thank you so much, your comment made my day 🙏
thank you, very insightful information and motivating to continue using the kilterboard!
Great I’m glad it was helpful:) Any routes you’d recommend?
The trail loop isn’t strong enough, I have one. the best option is the ocean band… I have an Watch Ultra since Oct 2022, I run, do calisthenics everyday, swim and dive very often. The ocean band is the only band I wear my Watch Ultra with (yellow color).
Very interesting point about the trail loop. I was thinking about the Ocean band too, the problem I think I’ll still have with the ocean band is the ease of tightening/loosening… is it possible to do easily with the other hand without looking? I was recently gifted a watch band from Nomad (by a friend not a sponsorship). I gotta say, I’m normally a purist and wouldn’t mix 3rd party but, for my use cases, the Nomad band outperforms the Apple ones in all the practical categories (looks is subjective of course). this one is also glowing in the dark though! :)
@@benmenashe It is very easy to tight the fit. It is what I do before running for example. With one hand. I only use bands, no third party bands. I have bought a Nomad band too (orange ultra color) but it doesn’t feel very secure enough (to me) and it is in a drawer. The one glowing in the dark is a joke. Why sleep in the dark with this glowing band??? I want to add that leave in a hot country Malaysia and I wash my Watch Ultra and the band V every time I take a shower. So it is still in pristine condition and it doesnt stink:) Cheers!
@BrunoDECOURCY thanks Bruno, that’s a great insight, I’ll defo give the Ocean Band a go next time I’m in a shop :) I like the glow in the dark part if I’m out late in the mountains or running at night, it lasts for a few good hours
I do socialize with myself is that good as well?! Would be interested to see how you approach your projects :)
Haha :) let’s project something together?
❤❤❤
It didn’t live up to the hype. I had a number of issues. I couldn’t get through 2 days of camping without having to put it in airplane mode to prevent it from dying. The GPS was a major disappointment too. In a busy park just north of my city, the maps wouldn’t even load. Those are 2 MAJOR misses for the Ultra.
Hey that’s very interesting, did other watches/gps devices fair better in the same area? I agree that the AWU is more of a jack of all trades, so sometimes, a master of none ;) I personally go airplane mode as well if I’m out for more than a day, it doesn’t stop the gps from working as it’s a different service, so if you pre download a map to Workoutdoors it should be fine in airplane mode. Did you end up changing to a different watch?
Great info .... thank you so much for all the info.
Cheers Miguel, really glad it was helpful:)
Completely agree I love my Apple Watch Ultra 💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥
🙌
such a great video Ben! Can't wait to try Fairlop, I'm sold!
Go for it! It’s really cool 😎
Now THAT is my kind of playground

Coming soon!
Hi Ben, thanks for sharing your wonderful videos with us, I just put it on my Facebook account. Till soon Give my best to Kat❤
Thanks so much Philippe xxx
❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed ❤️
There's tons of cases out there, but the only one I trust for any of my devices is the Pathfinder series from UAG. You can put a landyard on them also. Very minimal too.
Amazing! Thanks a lot, I’ll check it out asap 🫡
I need a HUGE camera to get my forearm bigger and improve my climbing GRADE!!
Haha that’s one way to do it :) Jokes aside, what camera gear do you use?
@@benmenashe I'll show you once, I'll come to climb with you again!! Soon on Joao channel ;)

If I can get my hands on one, I will :)
Love back from 🇬🇧
Love it. One question Who was at the door???
Haha just a random delivery 📦 actually, it was a cool Apple Watch strap that glows in the dark!!
Even more glow to supplement the iTorch ;)
@David-so3or 😎
יששששש סוף כל סוף סרטון חדש❤❤❤❤
Yep. Great video. Obviously a real climber. Learned some great stuff. What strap are you now using?
Hey, I’m mainly using an older model fabric Sport Loop, which is kinda similar to the trail loop, easy to adjust and v comfy. Can’t really justify paying £100 for the trail loop… ;)
That drone is terrible. My drone (O.G. Mini) is jailbroken with no-geofencing and I hacked it to enable tracking features and “follow me” mode. I also carry the Sony A1 on 50 1.2GM on my left shoulder strap & the Sony A7RIVa on 20G on my right hip. I’ll put my setup against anyone and win
That’s cool about the drone didn’t know you can do that, personally geofencing never been an issue for me, and I prefer the mini 3 for the dedicated remote with a screen to keep my phone free. As for the camera, I suppose we have different needs, carrying 2 cameras while climbing/in harsh mountain conditions is something I will never do, as it’s a lot of faff and extra weight which may put me and my teammates at unnecessary risk, same goes for extra/heavy glass. Generally I go by Weight>Bulk>Versatility.
They are provide paid promotions but not provide money ..fully scam 😢
Hey there sorry, I don’t fully understand. This video is not a promotion of any sort, the watch and all the apps were paid for by me, and this is how I use all of it when climbing outdoors or in the gym. Hope this helps :)
❤❤❤
Great video! What‘s the name of the Watch face you used at 02:02? Looks nice with all the Info 👌🏻
Hey Nilson, it's the "Modular Ultra", Bezel: "elevation", the Style is set to "H:M:S: II" and the "Cloud Blue" colour way. As for the complications, from top left: Temperature, Compass, Today's Date, And from bottom left: Activity, Sunrise/Sunset and Redpoint (this is the climbing app I reviewed in the video ;) ) I find this setup is quite helpful when outdoors, as you get important info at a glance and can log a climb quickly etc. Hope this helps!
Good video. I have the aluminum series 7 and someone got a scratch on the screen where in one spot it is kind of deep. I was throwing the idea back and forth or upgrading to either a stainless steel or ultra. So the screen on either would be a lot more durable? How does the body of the stainless steel hold up? Does it have a lot of scratches on the body to where the ultra would be better? Thanks.
Hey Jeremy, in my experience, the screen on both the stainless steel and Ultra would hold up much better for scratches, the body of both would get scratched climbing, same as any watch I guess… :) durability-wise, the big difference between the two is that the Ultra has a raised lip on the sides which protects the screen from bangs etc. while on the stainless steel the screen is exposed on the sides and could get damaged more easily… hope this helps?
I learned a lot 😊
I’m glad it was helpful 🙌
I've been watching a lot of apple watch vids where every geek says "this watch is too big for my tiny wrist" Not a problem for this dude, look at his hands💀
Haha, yeah I didn’t even think about that! That being said, I think my hand size is average, I’m between Medium/Large in gloves depending on the brand. Probably best to try it on first :)
Amazing
Glad you like it :)
Yo I want to see your editing setup…
Hey, it’s a 14’ MacBook Pro, M3 Max “base model” without any further upgrades. Reason being I was going to get the M3 Pro and update the RAM + SSD to 1TB, the base M3 Max comes with these upgrades for not much of a price difference. It’s great! I might make a review of it, just want to spend a bit more time with it.. I was editing all on an M1 iPad Pro before…
Those MacBooks are amazing! @@benmenashe
❤
Awesome, well done. You captured the adventure and the fun of your ice climbing experience. But all the way through the edit we saw the importance of great team players. Thanks again for asking if it was cool with us for you to use the drone nearby. I appreciated that. Super meeting you all.
It was great meeting you guys! True inspiration 🙏❤️
Siiiiiiick! Attaboy. Multitasking on whole new levels. Absolutely killing it. Let’s get you on some Swiss mountains soon. So cool to see you putting those knot skills to use. Big love
Thanks so much 🙏❤️
Awesome video this!

Wow amazing work So goood❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the film 🙏❤️
